Hello fellow film enthusiasts! Welcome to the Streaming Abroad Podcast hosted by Wade Cook! I'm doing this podcast because I am an American college student who has had some recent exposure to some films and film movements from around the world via some film classes I had to take for my minor. Since I never got to watch them in their entirety while taking the classes, I figured I'd give them a proper look and build my first podcast around it. During each episode, I will give a brief background on the film and the movement it belongs to. I'll also share my own personal thoughts on the film.
In the first-ever episode of Streaming Abroad, Wade streams abroad to 1920s Germany to take a look at the silent German Expressionist horror movie The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920). Tune in to find out exactly why a silent horror film produced in Germany is significant to this day!
In this episode, I give a brief overview of what you can expect from this podcast that is centered around International Cinema! Remain on the lookout for episodes! Apologies for the choppy audio in the outro
