Two grad students just trying to find humor in life through unfiltered thoughts and sometimes unapologetic rant.
This week's episode is on Black Lives Matter movement. We talk about the brief history of it, difficult conversations that we may have to have with others, how to protect ourselves during the protest, and other various ways for us to become an active ally that we need for our Black community. We understand that these are upsetting and somewhat uncomfortable topics to discuss, but choosing silence and becoming a bystander are no longer an option. As we recognize our own privilege and the systemic racial injustice taking place in the U.S. and around the world, we hope that this episode can become a starting point for your conversations about BLM with your friends, families, and neighbours. Please go to our Instagram page (@teatalks.detox) for more links, sources, and stories to learn more about the BLM movement.
Happy Friday Folx! Today we are talking about the mystery of ageing and our love/hate relationship with our growing pains. Why are we always trying to stop the natural, and beautiful, process of getting old? Why do we fear mortality? Does maturity come with age? These are the questions that we attempted to answer (emphasis on 'attempt'). So sit back and enjoy the sound of birds chirping and the wind blowing as we chat away on this beautiful, sunny day.
And...we're back! May is Asian-American & Pacific Island Heritage Month, so in honor of such celebration, this "almost" hour-long episode spills some spicy tea of growing up with some melanin underneath our skin. Whether you are a part of an AAPI/APAC community or not, we hope that our conversation brings a sense of comfort and familiarity to you because, at the end of the day, we are all in this together.
Hello, fam. This week we are back a little late, but better late than never. In this episode, we try out the 36 questions that lead to falling in love with anyone. We cover a lot: from hard-hitting values to embarrassing moments, and everything in between. So you can say that we've been feeling the feels. Maybe join us while you are at it?
It's our FIFTH episode! Yes, that's how long this quarantine has been, but I hope our episodes have made it a bit easier so far. We brought in two "recurring" guests, who have put up with us since our day one of bad puns and jokes. So tune in, because y'all asked and we answered.
We are going outside today! But not physically (#socialdistancing). This episode is a collection of nostalgic memories of our travelling days, from cities to mountains, with cars or our own feet. We also have a little surprise announcement at the END of the episode for all you listeners, so stay tuned (because we will know).
We had so much fun recording this episode, splish-splashing around with our watercolours. This episode was a therapeutic session for us and we hope it is for you as well. Grab yourself a soothing cup of whatever tea that gets you into your own creative space and start creating while tuning into our wholesome, late-night conversation about self-expression.
Friends and friendship. While all good things must come to an end, friendship doesn't always need to. So reach out to your friend, grab a cuppa together, and sit down for some wholesome chats with our very special friend, Rakshith!
Are you staying at home? Are you bored out of your mind? Well, us too! So get ready, brew yourself a cuppa, jump into the 42-minute of chaotic energy, and get to know us a wee bit better.
Welcome to our first episode, thanks for tuning in! We're starting off with a fun and light topic - reality TV! Can't stand them, but can't stop watching them. So brew yourself your favourite flavour of cuppa, and join us with our special guest Sukanya.
