In this powerful episode of Everyday Conversations on Race, host Simma the Inclusionist sits down with Emmy award-winning journalist and author Dion Lim to confront a question too many are avoiding: "Why has the conversation about anti-Asian hate gone silent"? Dion takes us behind the headline-making DM that changed her career — an anonymous video of an elderly Asian man being brutally beaten in San Francisco — and reveals what it took to bring stories like his to light when her own newsroom resisted. From the murder of Vincent Chin to COVID-era scapegoating, she traces the deep historical roots of anti-Asian racism in America. She explains why the silence after the peak of BLM and Stop AAPI Hate is not just disappointing — it's dangerous. Topics in This Episode: Why anti-Asian hate is "as old as the Gold Rush" — and why we're erasing that history The cultural shame that keeps Asian American victims from speaking out The death threats and hit pieces Dion faced for reporting the truth How DEI rollbacks are affecting communities right now What Black-Asian solidarity actually looks like on the ground The role food, music, and pop culture play in bridging racial divides Dion's new book Amplify: My Fight for Asian America (foreword by Olivia Munn) You'll hear: The anonymous 12-second DM that changed everything — a video of an elderly Asian man being attacked while collecting cans in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood Why Asian American victims often don't come forward: cultural conditioning, family shame, distrust of media, and generational silence Anti-Asian hate isn't new — from the Gold Rush to Vincent Chin to Yik Oi Huang and Vishal Ratanapakdee How COVID gave people permission to blame Asians — and how "kung flu" and "China virus" language fueled violenc The backlash Dion faced: a Washington Post hit piece orchestrated by a former DA's team, death threats from people who denied anti-Asian hate was real Why the Asian American community isn't monolithic — income inequality, cultural differences, and the "model minority" myth The connection between Black and Asian communities — shared history, manufactured division, and what solidarity actually looks like on the ground Grassroots response: patrol groups, the Blue Angels in Oakland, and the role of everyday people showing up for each other Simma's own history with the original Rainbow Coalition — The Young Patriots, the Black Panthers, the Young Lords, and Asian groups working together in the late '60s and '70s The immigrant parent dynamic: silence as survival, pride as a long time coming, and what it meant when Dion's father finally expressed pride after her 20/20 appearance What Dion wants for the next generation: be loud, find your community, take care of your mental health, and don't be afraid to take up space TV recommendation: Warrior — the series about the rise of the Tongs and how Chinese workers were treated in California The ask: get Amplify on the New York Times bestseller list — and why it matters beyond sales Key Learnings: Silence is not safety. When institutions stop talking about race, hate doesn't disappear — it goes underground and grows. The rollback of DEI programs and race coverage in newsrooms makes communities more vulnerable, not more comfortable. Anti-Asian hate has deep American roots. This isn't a COVID story. It goes back to the Gold Rush, the Chinese Exclusion Act, and the murder of Vincent Chin. Understanding that history is the first step to not repeating it. Cultural conditioning keeps people quiet. Many Asian Americans are raised to not cause a fuss, not draw attention, not inconvenience others. That silence protects no one — it protects the people doing harm. Division between communities is often manufactured. The tension between Black and Asian communities didn't come from nowhere. It was seeded deliberately, and it dissolves quickly when people actually get to know each other. You don't have to share someone's experience to show up for them. The people who moved Dion most weren't Asian — they were people from every background who said "I didn't know, and now I do." On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, WJNO's Brian Mudd fills in for Mark. The AI jobs boom is coming. But there's a tale of two economies, where investors have enjoyed a phenomenal stock market run driven by AI, while everyday life feels strained by high gas and grocery prices. Despite concerns over AI job losses, Iran-related issues, and costs, there is strong economic momentum and Reaganomics-style trickle-down effects, with wealth from companies redeploying across the economy. April saw 115,000 jobs added driven by actual American workers, with 3.6% wage growth exceeding inflation. Tech jobs cut by AI have been more than offset by gains in construction, utilities, and AI-supporting infrastructure, signaling booming AI-related job creation in the early months of this shift. Meanwhile, the current average gas price is around $4.24 per gallon; even if sustained all year on an inflation-adjusted basis, it would rank only as the 9th most expensive year in U.S. history, with four of the top five (including the top three) most expensive years occurring under the Obama administration. Also, President Trump sidelined Maduro in Venezuela—redirecting its vast oil reserves (previously 80% to China, though only 2% of China's supply) to the US via Chevron, boosting production 50%—and now targeting Iran (47% of China's oil), Trump has disrupted China's new Axis network of allies (including Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua). This strategically hampers China's military capabilities, preventing escalation to World War III. Later, this version of the Democrat party is the most dangerous yet. Sen Chuck Schumer opposed funding reconciliation for the Department of Homeland Security, including $140 billion for Border Patrol and ICE. Democrats' support for the BLM-led defund the police movement caused total crime rates to rise 30% and murders 44% in embracing communities, with devastating effects. Open border policies under President Biden allowed criminal illegal aliens to run rampant, committing a quarter of all U.S. crime. If you vote for Democrats, you are voting for more murders and crime to take place. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Just Jimmy and Tyler kicking off June with something that’s been on Jimmy’s mind since the Rubicon trip — and since the Barrett Lake outhouse project started spreading to other forests. The short version: the National Forest Service is being restructured in a way that removes local regional offices. The closest regional office for El Dorado National Forest, Tahoe National Forest, and Stanislaus National Forest is now in Salt Lake City. That means people who have never set foot on our trails are making decisions about them. Jimmy draws the parallel to what happened at Gemini Bridges and Labyrinth Rims — 2,200 miles of trails evaluated and closed by people working off a map. No boots on the ground. And those were local BLM offices. Now imagine Salt Lake City. The call to action is clear: the off-road community needs to show up at the table before the restructuring finishes and the table gets moved somewhere else. Jimmy runs through what that looks like in practice. The Mad Hatters just completed their adopted section of the Rubicon Trail. Friends of Fordyce and Friends of Rubicon had a big work weekend. Spree to Four (or the Granite Bandits — Jimmy goes back and forth) does Corral Hollow every year and opens more roads than the county can staff. There’s a work party at Moon Rocks coming up to install 32 named obstacle signs, with BLM permission. And the Barrett Lake blob bathroom project — the one the off-road community funded and built — is now being copied onto Fordyce at Committee Crossing and Wind Chill 3, and at Observation Point on the Rubicon. Tahoe National Forest, which historically does not collaborate with El Dorado National Forest, asked to copy the project. That’s what showing up looks like. How to get involved: contact your local ranger district, come with questions not demands, keep digging until you find the person who can actually answer them. Search Facebook groups for your specific riding area. If nothing exists, start the conversation. For funding, Onyx has their Trail Revival Program live right now — $5,000 grants, Jimmy applied and got one last year, the main ask is media showing the work was done. Tread Lightly and BFG also have trail grant programs. The window for making a real impact is right now, during the restructure, not after it’s done. Also in this episode: today (June 1) is the last day to use the Devos LightRanger 500 group buy discount code. The Russo May giveaway has closed — winner announcement coming Thursday. McShane and Fitz kick off Razor Wire by recapping a chaotic week: riots at an ICE detention center in New Jersey (with Hasan Piker on scene), unrest in Paris, and renewed arguments about BLM's damage and media double standards. They dig into claims of foreign influence and funding—especially Roy Singham's ties to activist groups and Hasan Piker's comments about China and Cuba—then pivot to a UN Watch report alleging UN experts took millions from China, Russia, and Qatar while pushing anti-West narratives. The hosts discuss Treasury/IRS efforts to tighten nonprofit oversight and investigate funding for Antifa. After beer reviews and Jefe's casino antics, they cover Canada's MAID controversy, Peter Thiel reportedly going to Argentina, aliens.gov trolling users with an “illegal aliens” theme, and a whistleblower claim about CIA use of consumer DNA data—ending with worries about escalating paid agitation and protests.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/razor-wire-news--5683729/support.www.razorwirenews.com

Riverside County Sheriff and California governor candidate Chad Bianco returned to the AgNet News Hour for part two of his conversation about California agriculture, water policy, regulations, energy, immigration, and the future of the state. The interview opened with discussion surrounding California's latest water allocation announcement, which increased allocations to Westlands Water District growers from 20% to 25%. Hosts Nick Papagni and Josh McGill criticized the state's inability to store water despite multiple wet years and full northern reservoirs. “We don't know how to store it when we do have it,” McGill said during the broadcast. Bianco said California's problems are driven by government mandates and policies that force ideas onto residents and businesses instead of allowing innovation and practical solutions. “There is no way on earth that wind and solar provide us the electricity that we need,” Bianco said. “It just can't happen. So why are we forcing it to happen?” Bianco argued California should focus on reliable energy, domestic oil production, water storage, and reducing regulations that hurt farmers and businesses. “We have way more water than we need in California,” he said. “It's just purposely wasted and sent out to the ocean every single year.” The conversation also focused heavily on agriculture. Bianco said California farmers are being crushed by regulation, rising costs, and water shortages despite producing food for the nation and much of the world. “There is help on the horizon,” Bianco told listeners. “This is somebody that's been working hand in hand with our ag community for 33 years.” Bianco said he wants California to once again become a national leader in agriculture by removing barriers and supporting local food production. “California school systems will be supplied with California food and ag,” he said. “Ag, meat, poultry — everything will be California grown, California made.” Energy policy was another major topic. Bianco said California has the ability to reduce fuel costs significantly by utilizing its own oil resources instead of relying on imports. “We will stop buying from other countries,” he said. “California can be oil independent.” The interview also touched on sanctuary state policies, immigration, public safety, homelessness, and the relationship between California and the federal government. Bianco emphasized the importance of cooperation with Washington and said California cannot succeed while isolating itself politically. “We have to have someone willing to work with anyone and everyone,” he said. Bianco also addressed criticism related to protests and unrest during the BLM demonstrations several years ago, explaining that a widely circulated video showing him kneeling was part of a public prayer before law enforcement later dispersed rioters. “The truth never changes,” Bianco said. “That was simply prayer.” The broadcast concluded with Bianco encouraging Californians to vote and become more involved in shaping the state's future. “California is already great,” he said. “We're just not doing what we should be doing.” The program also featured an almond industry update with Almond Board of California spokesperson Bryce Spycher, who discussed the USDA's 2.7 billion-pound subjective almond estimate for the upcoming season and described the market as stable and balanced heading into harvest.

Oregon forests recently got a big win in court.Earlier this month, a US District Court Judge ruled that the Bureau of Land Management, or BLM, had broken the law during the planning of its so-called “Blue and Gold” timber sale, and threw out the entire project. The “Blue and Gold” is a nearly 3,500 acre tract of mature and old-growth forest on the eastern slopes of the Coast Range between Eugene and Roseburg.I actually visited the Blue and Gold forest a couple years ago. It was immediately clear that it was a special place deserving of protection, and I'm grateful to the organizers, lawyers, and activists who worked for years to do just that.I think it's always worth taking time to celebrate our victories. But the details of the BLM's behavior in pushing this timber sale were shocking, and I wanted to make sure that the details of their actions don't get lost, especially as they prepare to radically change their management plans to maximize industrial timber harvest at the behest of the Trump administration. So I invited Nick Cady, Legal Director for Cascadia Wildlands to talk with me about the lawsuit, why he thinks the BLM is unfit to manage public land, and why he is so optimistic about defeating Trump's maximum logging agenda.I would love to hear your thoughts, email me anytime at coastrangeradio@gmail.comhttps://www.instagram.com/coastrangeradio/

**Episode 1,222: George Floyd Died for the Sins of Black America – And It Was All in Vain** In this hard-hitting episode, Clay Edwards pulls no punches on the six-year anniversary of George Floyd's death. He argues that what was sold as a defining moment for racial justice instead became a blank check for chaos, cultural decline, and self-inflicted damage that has left black America worse off. Clay breaks down how the “mostly peaceful protests,” the billions raised, the corporate virtue signaling, and the defund the police movement all backfired spectacularly. He examines the rapid rise and fall of the post-Floyd narrative through major events like the Kyle Rittenhouse acquittal, Stacey Abrams' defeats, the exposure of BLM's financial scandals, and the Supreme Court ending race-based affirmative action. The episode features a deep dive into the top 10 deadliest cities in America — all Democrat-controlled and majority black — along with shocking FBI crime statistics broken down by race and age. These numbers reveal staggering disparities, especially among young black males, and raise uncomfortable questions about culture, accountability, and leadership failures. In Hour 2, Clay is joined by Andrew Gasser for further discussion on these crime trends, the state of Democrat-run cities, and real-world examples of cultural decay, including a eye-opening story from a recent Carnival cruise. Unfiltered, data-driven, and no-holds-barred — this is reality radio at its finest.
In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by Topo Athletic, we are joined by Liz Crandall, a former US Forest Service field ranger who was fired by DOGE last February and has since transitioned into advocacy, activism, and podcasting, serving as the host of Rangers of the Lost Park. In this one, Liz walks us through nine years of climbing the federal government's career ladder, from GS3 volunteer to permanent employee, and what it actually felt like to receive the phone call telling her it was over. She breaks down the DOGE firing process, the spam-looking emails that nobody believed were real, the Fork in the Road offer that most people didn't take, and what it looked like inside a Forest Service office where even the people who voted for the administration were crying. She also shares what it took to go from a person who was trained never to talk to the press to someone doing live CNN, the roadless rule and why she thinks rescinding it is a bad idea, her crown jewel podcast guest Ken Burns, and two pants-shitting stories from her hitchhiking days that she's been dreading telling us since she booked this. t's almost June, which means every brand is about to slap a rainbow on their logo and send emails saying "we see you." Meanwhile, they're quietly funding politicians who back Don't Say Gay bills. But yeah, thanks for the rainbow debit card. Super brave of you. This week I'm honestly just going off on all the performative activist bs that's been clogging our feeds for a decade. I'm talking about the black squares that literally buried actual BLM resources, the whole corporate Pride grift, and those pink pussy hats (yeah, sorrynotsorry). I'm also dragging those Notes app apologies written by publicists and the little award show pins that basically became a perpetual red carpet accessory.Basically, if your activism doesn't actually scare the people in charge, it's just marketing, and you're the product. Monique and Kevin breakdown the end of racial gerrymandering. Hint: this isn't about Black voting rights. It's about Democrats losing safe seats and special racial protections. Today's Headlines: The Department of Homeland Security is threatening to cut customs staffing at major international airports in sanctuary cities like New York, LA, Chicago, and DC — which would affect not just tourism but cargo shipments and the broader economy — because DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin apparently thinks international trade can just reroute to Florida. Trump, meanwhile, said he's "in no hurry" to end the Iran war while also telling reporters he might skip his own son's destination wedding in the Bahamas because of "this thing called Iran," which is either a convenient excuse or the most relatable thing he's ever said. The Traitor Fund — formerly known as Trump's $1.776 billion slush fund — is getting wilder by the day: Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio wants $2-5 million, Mike Lindell is asking for $400 million, a January 6th rioter who compared herself to Jesus during sentencing wants $10 million, George Santos might file, and the couple who pointed guns at BLM protesters is reportedly interested. Acting AG Todd Blanche went to Congress to lobby Republicans not to block the fund — and offered to cut them in on it, specifically noting that senators whose records were secretly subpoenaed are eligible to file claims, which is a sentence that exists. The Senate responded by going home for a few weeks rather than dealing with it, which is technically a dereliction of their constitutional duty to approve funding, but here we are. Mortgage rates also hit a nine-month high this week at 6.51%, Trump is claiming he can build his DC arch without congressional approval, and a design commission approved the arch's look, which is one of many steps still required — Congress included, no matter what Donald says. On the Epstein files, Jeffrey Epstein's former personal assistant Sarah Kellen testified before the House Oversight Committee in a session described as deeply informative and genuinely harrowing — revealing she was recruited at 21, sexually and psychologically abused by Epstein for over a decade, and was "being paid in part to be raped." She also told the committee that the federal government included her name in Epstein's 2008 nonprosecution agreement without ever speaking to her, effectively branding her a criminal in a secret deal made with her own abuser. RURAL AMERICA UNDER PRESSURE: HANK VOGLER SOUNDS THE ALARM ON GRAZING RIGHTS, GREEN ENERGY, AND LIVESTOCK MARKETS On this episode of Rural Route, Trent Loos is joined by Nevada rancher Hank Vogler for a hard-hitting discussion on the growing challenges facing America's livestock producers and rural communities. Hank shares firsthand experiences battling federal land regulations, BLM grazing permit issues, and the rapid expansion of solar and green energy projects onto valuable grazing land across the West. The conversation exposes how federal land control and changing land use policies are reshaping ranching operations and threatening the future of independent agriculture. Trent and Hank also break down the volatile sheep and cattle markets, rising livestock prices, shrinking herd numbers, and infrastructure problems impacting producers from ranch to consumer. They discuss how tariffs, reduced domestic sheep production, and limited packing capacity are creating major pressure throughout the livestock industry. The episode also dives into border security concerns, animal disease risks, tuberculosis exposure, and the growing loss of grazing land due to urban expansion and renewable energy development. It's a powerful conversation about government overreach, food production, rural survival, and the fight to protect America's agricultural backbone.

Dan Doyle, oil entrepreneur and author of Of Roughnecks and Riches, brings a ground-level view of what's actually happening in the American energy industry — a rig count in freefall as of February that flipped to a boom overnight when Iran closed the Strait, well costs up 65-70% driven by steel prices, and a shale sector that can't survive at $50 oil. Doyle and David Knight walk through the strategic logic of Venezuela — three million barrels a day under Nixon, now barely a million after socialist confiscation, with Exxon and the major service companies now quietly circling back in. The bigger picture is a potential Western Hemisphere energy bloc: U.S., Canadian, Alaskan, and South American production that could get America off Middle Eastern oil entirely — if the political class doesn't kill it first, the same way Biden cancelled mandatory BLM lease sales on day one and the same way New York bans Marcellus shale extraction while 26% of its children live in poverty. The ruling class and radical left used to be on opposite sides. Not anymore. They've found a common enemy and they're working together to dismantle both. This isn't conspiracy. This is documented. And Catholic men need to hear it.James sits down with Bill Donohue, President and CEO of the Catholic League, to break down his latest book Christianity in the Crosshairs: Ruling Class and Radicals Find a Common Enemy. Bill pulls no punches. He connects the dots between COVID lies, gender ideology, the assault on parental rights, and a decades-long strategy to replace your authority over your children with the state's.If you lived through the COVID lockdowns, watched churches shut down while BLM protests were cheered on, and felt something was deeply wrong, Bill explains why you were right. This isn't about politics. It's about power. And the goal has always been to get inside your head, neutralize the family, and make you dependent on institutions that despise what you believe. He is direct, unapologetic, and backed by decades of research.

RURAL AMERICA UNDER FIRE: GRAZING RIGHTS, ALPHA-GAL SYNDROME, AND THE FIGHT FOR AGRICULTURAL FREEDOM On this episode of Rural Route, Trent Loos welcomes Nevada rancher Hank Vogler for a hard-hitting conversation about the growing pressure facing ranchers, public land grazing, and the future of American agriculture. The two dive into concerns surrounding massive AI data centers in Las Vegas, the strain they place on water and energy resources, and the bigger questions about who controls the future of rural America. Hank shares alarming updates from Nevada's federally controlled grazing lands, where ranchers are battling increasing restrictions from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). He explains how range scientists have been replaced by wildlife specialists and discusses what he believes is a growing hostility toward livestock grazing. The conversation also explores wildfire risks in sagebrush country, water shortages, and the long-term impact government policies could have on food production and land stewardship. Trent and Hank also tackle major health concerns, including the rise of alpha-gal syndrome, a tick-borne illness that causes allergic reactions to beef and pork. They question whether lab-grown and cell-cultured proteins could create new health risks tied to engineered food systems. The discussion expands into broader concerns about government intervention in agriculture, food independence, grazing rights, and the future of ranching families across America. The episode closes with a powerful discussion about Nebraska politics, BLM permit disputes, public land management, and what it may take for rural Americans to push back against policies they believe are threatening their livelihoods and way of life.
The Angus Women Connected Conference intends to do just that: foster relationships among breeders from across the country. We've got lots to discuss today, the Iran deal is looming and that is causing the Left to tremble. They are already positioning success as failure. I plan to get into details of that deal in just a bit.I don't know how the Iran deal shakes out. I got a note from a listener saying that Trump's Board of Peace is getting played.Could be. But I still trust him more than any other politician to course-correct. I think we have to get out of this PERFECTION mode. It seems like too many people think that our representatives must be perfect. They make decisions, some good, some less good. The KEY is do you trust that their bad decisions aren't malicious.I know for a fact that Trump devastated Iran's ability for mischief. Can he make bad decisions? Of course. But do I trust him to FIX THEM?[SEGMENT 2-2] Chasing Perfection 2Speaking of the President, the DICTATOR, here is what he had to say about reducing crime in America.[X] SB – Pres Trump on reducing crimeSF, NY, crime down in a matter of months…Why don't these mayor's ask?A 92% reduction. Trump is saving lives. And mostly Black lives. So if BLM, why not request support? In case you're no paying attention, Leftists do not want to solve the crime problem. When you consider the actions of Leftists, what bothers me most is how we haven't put them in prison. And I don't mean to sound like them, because we would have cause. In this episode, Annika Brockschmidt sits down with Adrian Daub, Professor at Stanford University and author of the upcoming book What Tech Calls Governing. Daub provides a searing intellectual history of the vibe shift in Silicon Valley, dismantling the myth that the tech world has undergone a broad political transformation. Instead, Daub argues that we are witnessing the radicalization of a billionaire elite, a small class of men like Marc Andreessen, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel, who have moved rightward not because of shifting data, but out of a reactionary backlash to post pandemic social pressures and the accountability of the MeToo and BLM movements. By examining the ideological bridge from 1960s counterculture to modern cyberculture, Daub reveals how the hippie to tech pipeline created a foundation for a brand of power that refuses to recognize itself as power, leading to a strange paradox where the world's most influential men consistently frame themselves as persecuted outsiders. The conversation dives deep into the specific ideologies driving today's tech giants, from René Girard's mimetic theory to the biohacking and eugenics adjacent subcultures of the ultra wealthy. Daub offers a brilliant critique of the current AI hype cycle, arguing that framing Artificial Intelligence as an unstoppable force of nature is a deliberate political maneuver designed to bypass regulation and democratic oversight. Beyond the policy, they discuss the revealing and often bizarre aesthetics of the tech elite, such as the AI generated gladiator imagery favored by aging billionaires, which Daub links to a historical fascist obsession with the idealized male form and ego. Looking forward, the duo explores the Palantir problem and the structural flaws in Silicon Valley's current political bets, while offering a preview of Daub's next project, Project 1933: Fascism Then and Now, which contextualizes our current moment within the darker chapters of 20th century history. Henry shares his journey from a traumatic childhood marked by domestic violence and the crack epidemic, to 25 years in media ministry, and why he now boldly advocates for law enforcement. From the Ferguson Effect to rising officer deaths, defund-style chaos in cities, and the latest protests against ICE, Henry brings hard truths, personal stories, and biblical clarity on law and order. Political violence is escalating, and the left's political violence problem can't be ignored. This episode exposes how media narratives, Democratic rhetoric, and selective data create a permission structure for violence. The latest Trump assassination attempt is not an isolated incident. Professor Nick Giordano breaks down the pattern of political violence targeting Trump, conservatives, Supreme Court justices, Republican lawmakers, and public figures, while exposing how the media deflects, manipulates data, and hides behind January 6 whenever the facts become inconvenient. What You'll Learn How the phrase "Friendly Federal Assassin" reveals the moral permission structure behind political violence Why Obama's post after the manifesto release looked more like narrative control than unity The partial list of assassination attempts and politically motivated attacks the media downplays • How datasets manipulate the "right-wing violence" narrative by excluding BLM riots, anti-ICE attacks, anti-Tesla attacks, and anti-Israel violence Why figures like Luigi Mangione and Hasan Piker reveal a growing culture where violence is framed as moral virtue This is not a generic "both sides" lecture. It is a deeper look at the rhetoric, data games, and moral inversion fueling America's political violence crisis.
Josh didn't know anything about the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) until he was looking for an escape during the pandemic. After visiting a few BLM managed areas in California, he decided to make it his mission to visit every area managed by this federal agency in the state. This marked the start of The Forgotten Lands Project, Josh's effort to raise awareness about these largely unknown patches of public land.I was drawn to Josh's work because of my connection to a BLM managed protected area near my home in Boise, Idaho - the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. This National Conservation Area is a part of BLM's National Conservation Lands system, and it is a truly special place. In less than an hour's drive, I can be siting along the rim of a dramatic canyon with prairie falcons whizzing by and golden eagles circling overhead. This Conservation Area is home to one of the highest density nesting areas for birds of prey in the world. Because of its proximity to this unique area for raptors, Boise has become known as a global hub for raptor research. In the 1980s the Peregrine Fund established the World Center for Birds of Prey here, and Boise State University launched the Raptor Research Center, home to the only graduate degree program in Raptor Biology in the US. There's also a famous raptor migration survey effort run by the Intermountain Bird Observatory just outside of town, and our minor league baseball team is called the Hawks!Despite all of this, the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, which was designed to protect raptor populations, is woefully underfunded and understaffed. In my role as a board member of the Birds of Prey NCA Partnership, a “friends” group associated with this National Conservation Area, I'm trying to elevate the profile of these BLM managed public lands. Josh Jackson shares this mission, and the two of us had an engaged conversation about the role of public land in our society and the challenges facing the Bureau of Land Management.A version of this interview was originally published as an episode of the Dedication Point podcast - a series focused on issues relevant to the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. Check out our latest season of Dedication Point for more discussions about the BLM's current funding and staffing crisis.-Matt Podolsky Get full access to Earth to Humans Podcast's Substack at earthtohumanspodcast.substack.com/subscribe
Insurrection Barbie on Anonymity, Faith, Anti‑Semitism on the Right, and the Candace Owens Controversy Larry Alex Taunton hosts “Insurrection Barbie,” an anonymous conservative Christian on X, to discuss why she protects her identity as a mother and how her account grew after BLM and COVID-era activism. She describes becoming more openly pro-Israel after a February 2024 X Space and says her impressions dropped sharply while attacks from anti-Jewish accounts intensified. They argue some self-identified Christians and influencers are co-opting Christianity for political power, radicalizing young men, and drifting toward Islam and anti-Jewish rhetoric, citing polling about young evangelical men's views on Israel and mentioning Andrew Tate. Barbie recounts a dispute with Megyn Kelly, alleging Kelly tried to dox her after Barbie criticized Kelly for excusing Candace Owens, whom she says is targeting Charlie Kirk's widow. They conclude with concerns about extremism, 2028 elections, pastors failing to equip congregations, and the importance of scripture and gratitude as a spiritual discipline.

Jason addresses a post by Bishop Talbert Swan dealing with black violence surrounding a patriarchy vs. matriarchy narrative. Jason clearly delineates that the worship of black women and race religion has led to such violence. He declares BLM won't matter until race religion is eliminated. Shemeka Michelle, Delano Squires, and Dre Baldwin further the conversation by analyzing recent violent incidents between men and women and defining the underlying issues. Anthony Walker and Virgil Walker come aboard, extending a biblical view of black violence. Jason concludes the show responding to Matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson, and company delivering a vile and sophomoric rant about him that is reminiscent of a scene from "Dumb and Dumber." Jason delivers an epitaph for the BLM movement that infiltrated sports earlier this decade. Mark Jones is the latest ESPN departure from the woke group that the network gathered. Furthermore, Jason notes that religious conviction is permeating the sports world, with Scottie Scheffler being the latest example this weekend at the Masters. Also, Jason was anointed the most hated podcaster in sports media. Steve Kim, Dre Baldwin, and Jay Skapinac join the show to discuss Jason being #1, Dianna Russini remaining under the media microscope, and Doc Rivers again being fired, this time by the Milwaukee Bucks.
