Egan's is opening back up today under its new owner.  This new version of Egan's though is barely recognizable from the one we left a few months ago.  But, maybe the place's character will carry on for a bit longer, if only through the regular patrons who are looking forward to ponying back up to the bar.  Also in this episode are stories of brawls and of Egan's long relationship with a particular narcotic.  

This one is dirty.  In this episode, a local photographer tells us about his experience photographing the now legendary Alabama Shakes “secret show”.  Apart from that though, this is pretty much just smut.

Meet the regulars of a now defunct Alabama dive bar as they let loose debaucherous tales, introduce us to dive bar culture, and reflect on their time in their favorite gathering place.  

Tuscaloosa Alabama is growing rapidly. In a lot of ways, all of this growth and progress is a good thing. But it also seems to be coming at the expense of the city’s character.  Most of our favorite old dives, record stores, and hangouts have been replaced with overpriced beige and red brick apartment complexes and Chipotle’s.  For many locals, the last holdout for original music and for the town’s more colorful personalities was an eye sore of a dive bar named Egan’s.  Now, for the first time in almost 40 years, this small smokey watering hole is under new ownership and the doors are currently closed while changes are made in management.  In the coming weeks, we'll be releasing several episodes worth of this Alabama dive bar's foul mouthed patrons recounting their favorite poop stories, reliving long nights of raunchy sex and eardrum busting music, and lamenting the passing of an era.
