A podcast about lying
We have all lied at interviews. Fact. What we lie about at those interviews is up for discussion. This week, we talk to our recruiter/tea knower Zach Canfield about some of the wiiiild lies people have tried to get away with while trying to get a new job.
Y'all, having a side project is like cheating. You can't always tell the truth, sometimes you have to lie about where you going and who you're with, and at some point, you have to come clean. This week we talk to Leeya Jackson, who has TEN, I repeat, TEN whole ass side hustles. She also has her sanity. She talk to Leeya about her side hustles lies, and she shares her secret to having more hours in the day. For more of this side hustle content, you can see your girls at a panel on October 27, at 5pm PST. What’s at the intersection of lies, race, and current events? That's right y'all, this week we're talking white lies on black lives.
We back and we bad! Hello Beautiful liars, this is season 2 and we're glad to be back with that new new. This week we caught up about corona lies in our corona lives. Have you been lying more in quarantine?

Happy Black History Month y'all! We're still on a little break but wanted to kick it with our one of our favorite blacks, the delightfully grumpy David Sullivan aka Sully, to talk about black lies. Being black is beautiful, and we tell some real beautiful lies, to each other and white folks. Shit, we've been lying for as long as we've been in in this country, lies are the part of black history that we never, ever, everrrrr talk about. Until today, that is. So twiddle your kinky curlies, say sis out loud for no reason, and let's get into these black lies.
We have come to the end of the road, still we can't stop lying. So we got the biggest liar, our boss Jeff Goodby into the studio to talk about some of his favorite falsehoods. Will we still have jobs at the end of the interview? Maybe. He's been lying longer than ya girls have been alive, so we took notes. Shout out to all our guests this season, and all the beautiful liars who listened and shared it on social, we'll see y'all in 2020!
Once upon a lie, there were two beautiful liars, who wanted to understand the relationship between lying and storytelling, so they set out, on a quest, with the help of their tall tale telling ass friend, Lull Mangesha. Spoiler alert: this one has a happy ending. And beatboxing. *win win win win* In this episode, we delve into the dynamic relationship between lies and fiction. Is a lie a story? Are all stories lies? Let's find out.
Are all men liars? Maybe. Well y’all, we about to find out. In this week’s episode, we dive into what the other half is lying about. Why do men lie? Do they lie more than women? And are the things they’re lying about different from what women lie about? We’ve got our boy Evan Burton in the studio to speak on behalf of all men.
Y’all ever had anyone steal your identity and pretend to be you so they could buy surfboards and catnip? Me neither, but this in episode we get into the nitty gritty of identity with a friend of the pod, Shaza. What is identity and why would anyone switch up something that’s vital to their being? As an Arab-American woman who lies on herself all the time, she has hot takes on how to subvert the patriarchy. She also writes a mean tiny poem.
Up until now, you've probably been thinking "wow, these people are such liars... I would NEVER lie to my therapist, my date or even my Uber driver." Well have we got some relatable lying for you! Everybody, and we mean everybody, exaggerates for the good of the story. A stretch here, a fib there, it all counts as a harmless, white lie. This week, we're talking comedic timing and lying for LOLs. We chat with Bay Area comedian, Emily Ward, about her lies on and off stage. Bonus: Producer Goddess Olaitan speaks. SHOOKETH.
Not gonna lie, we love a good (white) lie that we can share with our girls. Thankfully, we had Mimo Haile (aka the real life Suzie Carmicheal from Rugrats) to talk with us about lying within the sisterhood. We also get into the internet's hot goss of the week: Caroline Calloway vs Natalie Beach. Pull up a seat sis, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride! Here are the orgs/projects that Mimo is involved in, show support our sister. Y’all. Why are we lying to our therapists?!? This week we dive into the reasons for our falsities in therapy. We chat with Rafi Fadda, artist and mental health provider, about why we lie and how maybe, just maybe, our lies can be a good thing. Which is great, because some of us still haven’t done our therapy homework. *Looking at you Shareina*
This week, we chat with superhuman Jack Sloman about the little white lies we tell for love. It's about to get real spicy!
This week our bag is full of lies for clout. The prevalence of social media means people are more likely to lie for likes.
Welcome to Bag of Lies! This week we talk through our lie of the week and delve into our bag of lies to see what people have been lying about in pop culture.
