"You can do great things in life." Ever heard that before? I have, and it never made sense to me. You would have to know what is great in order to do it. If "you can do things great in life", the sky is the limit as to what you can do.

Content and Context Determines Who You Are | Short Term Goal #1

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 10, 2019 6:59

If you are trying to build a brand or name for yourself, how are you going to do it? CONTENT and CONTEXT should be the first things that come to your mind, because those are the first things your client thinks about. "What do you do? How do you do it? What makes you special?" You can portray exactly the person or brand you want people to know by putting out as much information (content and context) as possible. The only way the end consumer is going to know what you do, how you do it, and why you do it is by putting out content that has holds enough context that it can speak for itself. Don't believe me yet, understandable. Listen in on this podcast, and check back in with me at the start of the 2020 year. I will be providing as much context in every piece of my content that my end consumers will know what I do, how I do it, and why I do it. "It" = Photography, Videography, Video Editing, and Photo Editing

What's on the FAST MENU?

I believe that I am well over due for a FAST. I need a spiritual, mental, and physical cleanse. One that will guide me into the direction of knowing what I really want/need/desire over what I have been left to believe that I want/need/desire. This FAST will be somewhat of a reprogramming phase for myself. In order to be successful, I'll need to learn how to live without certain things now, if I want to have them in my future. Having my cake and eating it too will not work anymore, I must be humble and patient. This is only the beginning, so you may want to find out what I'm fasting from just to see if it works for me; because it may work for you one day.

These are just a few of the many questions you'll have to ask yourself before you decide to take an internship in the entertainment industry, so think it through. Comment your opinions and examples of times that you would take an internship in the entertainment industry and times that you wouldn't.

It's hard, it's scary, it's not normal to talk about the 'skeletons in your closet' , but it surely does feel better to talk about them. Letting go and moving on from the bad things in my life are helping me to feel happier than ever before. Sure I have more skeletons in my closet, but I know one day I will have the courage to talk about them. Until then, hear about the sticky green 'skeleton' that I've been holding on to for 6 years that almost got me arrested.

Week #3: Sneaker Con ATL 2019

Sneaker Con is always an experience for me. I enjoy selling and buying shoes, but it's not as easy as many people may think. There is a decent amount of research and skill required into selling shoes. Negotiation and understanding the sneaker market that is in the city of Atlanta takes work. If you want to get into sneaker flipping/resale, this would be a good time to start, and this is also a good episode to listen in on to find out how to make a few hundred dollars while there's still a 'new shoe smell'.

Week #2: A3C in the ATL

I had a rough and less productive first week of being completely unemployed. I needed to rethink the way I conducted business and branded myself as an editor, videographer, and photographer. I needed to be around other people that have already been in my shoes and learn from them. I needed to talk to other people that are interested in the film, music, technology, and entertainment world like I am, and A3C came to ATL right on time. Listen in to what I did at Atlanta's biggest music, film, technology, entertainment, and culture conference. See if there is anything that you can take away from what I did and do it better.

First Week was the Worst Week

The past 7 days have really showed me who I really am, and I'm thankful for it. Without this week ever happening, I wouldn't have noticed that life will get a lot harder if I don't go 222% (my favorite number is 2 b.t.w.) The first will be the worst, and it will most definitely be my last. If you didn't hear me clearly at the end. Play It Again and Again. I'm always looking for projects.
