This podcast is for the insatiably curious and people who love to learn something new. You don't need to be a gardener, plant geek, plant parent, or anything like that, to enjoy. Each episode will consist of three parts: first, we'll introduce the plant and talk about its name, what it looks like, and where it grows in the wild. In segment two, we'll talk about the plant in a cultural context – in other words, what has this particular species or genus meant to humans over the years. We'll discuss things like the plant in art, in different cuisines around the world, how it might be used medicinally, and any of the other numerous ways plants become part of our lives. Finally, we'll finish up each episode telling you how you can grow the plant we've covered so that you can truly make it a part of your life. There's a saying in horticulture – you've got to grow it to know it – and that's what segment three will help you do.
