A podcast about RESILIENCE, the power to overcome, and the will to move forward!
“To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.” - Socrates Challenges and life experiences can impact your choices, your values, and your beliefs. So much so that when a person begins to question their values and beliefs, the fear and doubt they feel opens the door to insecurities. They begin to reconsider their choices, lose trust in themselves, and ultimately question who they are. Their identity becomes unknown, and who they thought they were or wanted to be, no longer is... In this episode, Queen G explores the the importance of SELF-IDENTITY and discusses how having a GROWTH MINDSET can help any person regain their sense of self when feeling lost.
Divorce is considered one of the five most stressful situations in life, and it can wreak havoc on a person’s mental health. In this episode, Queen G discusses the painful subject of divorce and the impact it has on people who experience it. She gets vulnerable in sharing about her own divorce and how it affected her mental health. Queen G is also joined by a very special guest, psychotherapist, Terri Eidem, from Terri Eidem Counseling. Mrs. Eidem shares about the benefits of mental health services and how such support can help you “discover your own ability to heal.”
American mothers die in childbirth at higher rates than in any other developed country — and those most at risk are mothers of color. In this episode, Queen G shares about her journey into adulthood, and how GRACE was key to her evolving into the amazing Mexican woman she is today. She describes one of the greatest GIFTS she was blessed with, MOTHERHOOD. She also discusses sexual health, maternal health, and the risks women of color experience in giving birth, along with what helped her conquer her own personal health challenges.
Join Queen G in this second episode as she talks about where her journey all began, as a Brown-Eyed Girl. Growing up as a “niña prieta” in a family of migratory agricultural workers had its challenges. Agriculture is one of the top three most dangerous industries to work in. This at-risk population continues to encounter many injustices and inequality in today’s world even if they are considered “essential workers” right now. Queen G is joined by special guests who have first hand information about her upbringing, and who also share their experiences in belonging to this vulnerable population that often faces racism and discrimination as people of color. They discuss how they overcame childhood obstacles encountered because of the color of their skin.
