HOW TO GROW YOUR INSTAGRAM!? | SUMMER 2018 SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY (Week 4)

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 13, 2018 22:16

So this past week our social media manager Annielaurie took back her duties on the instagram. Along with a little sabotage from our project manager KC. She took the strategy of having a good aesthetic and making our instagram look good. She also was trying out commenting on others peoples posts and promoting more engagement. We also went from 430 followers to 492 followers. Although we grew in followers this didn’t seem to improve how many views/likes we got on our posts. The posts got about the same amount of likes and views as previous posts. For our twitter she went with the tactic of talking about the Cleveland Cavaliers. She did live tweets during the game from a girls perspective. I think she really embarrassed her brother and most of her family, but it paid off because people found them to be hilarious. She had a goal of getting 10 retweets on one tweet and she actually reached 11. Before we only had 39 twitter followers and we have actually reached 50 followers. On youtube we had 66 subscribers at the start and have reached 72 subscribers. Our 10k calorie challenge video on YouTube has reached up to 143 views and we are hoping that will continue to go up. Facebook we struggled with meeting our goal of 150 likes but we did move up to 98 likes. We will have to continue to brainstorm ideas for facebook and how to grow our following. Twitch we are still working on getting all of our videos uploaded, it took a lot longer than we thought it would so that will be an ongoing process. Snapchat we are also still playing around with, last week for week three we had our interns take over the snapchat. Each day we had a different intern be in charge of the snapchat basically just adding their friends to it and posting what they do here. So overall I think we can all agree that Annielaurie is the social media manager for a reason. Since AL blew us out of the water for the rest of our summer experiment we are going to complete these as a team. Here are some strategies and goals she has for the week. Goals Instagram- 510 followers Facebook- 150 likes Twitter- 60 followers, 15 retweets, 20 likes Snapchat-Continue to add friends, and grow our stories Youtube- 78 subscribers, 200 views Twitch- Continue to upload content Strategies Instagram– Run a contest https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/245100 -------------- Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/giantkiller... So for week two update we had our project manager take over the instagram. He was an overachiever and tried to do more than 9 posts, posting multiple times a day. He also tried out the tactic of posting everything we do natively across every social media platform. To recap how he did compared to how Abigail did, here are the stats. Youtube video got over 100+ views however there was no subscriber growth for either weeks. Instagram 9: Abigail total views 272 Abigail total likes 276 Highest viewed post 88 Highest liked post 51 Followers 420, 427 Instagram 9: KC total views 204 KC total likes 195 Highest viewed post 78 Highest liked post 33 Followers 427,430 For week 3 our social media manager will be taking over. Now if you ask me she is the social media manager so I think she has an unfair advantage.

So now that we have a week of our summer experiment completed, we are going to share our results and set some new goals/tactics for week two. This week Abigail took over the Instagram 9 (Which again is just 9 posts on your profile grid). The tactic she was trying out for our Instagram is only doing one marketing tip for the week, as well as long descriptive captions. She used a long descriptive caption for the picture of our new snapchat account. This post got 48 likes, which we didn’t set a goal for but this number is pretty average for our posts. Our actual Instagram goal was to reach and maintain 420 followers, which we crushed and now have 423 followers. However we did gain 6 potential clients through Instagram, and signed 2 clients up through Instagram just this week. For our Facebook our goal was to reach 150 likes, here Abigail just shared some of our content onto her own Facebook. For twitter our goal was to reach 42 followers, get 4 likes, and 3 retweets. We were very close but we did not reach this goal. We have 39 followers, 3 likes, and 3 retweets. We also had a goal of getting a snapchat. Which we did create one, and we posted our username for you guys to add us on our Instagram. Our use for snapchat is to give more behind the scenes on what goes on at our office. We are always getting into fun shenanigans and we would love to share it with you guys. We think this makes our company relatable and let’s our clients get to know us a little better. On youtube our goal was to get 66 subscribers , and 55 views. The strategy we tried for youtube was only posting one video for the week. Turns out this wasn’t the best strategy and we did better when we posted multiple videos every week. We also wrote a goal for twitch however we have not gotten to upload our content to twitch yet. This goal will be rolling over into the next week. For week two we set some new goals, and kept some of the goals the same since we didn't reach all of them. For week two KC our project manager will be taking over. Here are his goals and some strategies he is going to try out. Social Media Goals: -Reach 440 followers (Instagram) -150 likes (Facebook) -45 followers, 4 likes, 3 retweets (Twitter) -10 friends (Snapchat) -66 Subscribers, 55 views (Youtube) -Upload content to Twitch Strategies: Instagram-Cross-post, making sure that things you post on Instagram get posted to all social media accounts such as twitter and Facebook. KC is going to take this one step further and post everything native on each of our social media platforms. (https://blog.bufferapp.com/instagram-growth#cross-post) Facebook-Promote your page on other social media accounts. Post on Instagram and twitter telling people to go like your Facebook page and why they should like it. (https://www.forbes.com/sites/jaysondemers/2015/06/16/50-free-ways-to-increase-your-facebook-page-likes/#48910455566e) Twitter-Re-share other people’s content, be a team player and share other followers content. This strategy also is supposed to work for Facebook. (https://blog.bufferapp.com/get-more-followers-twitter-facebook-research ) Snapchat-Create engaging blog-style stories. “Follow me around for the day” (https://neilpatel.com/blog/get-snapchat-followers/) Youtube-Name your videos strategically. Use the youtube autocomplete to name the video, keep the title basic. (http://tubularinsights.com/10-tips-1000-youtube-subscribers/) Twitch-This we are going to keep the same as week one since we didn’t complete this goal. “Word on the street (podcast) is twitch is the new youtube. So we are going to follow that advice and upload all of our videos onto twitch as well as youtube. (https://open.spotify.com/episode/1eqMG3CPvb8xAKkgi6DjV7)”
