Dr. Ahmad Yusuf is a co-founder of IMARET, a relief project under the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia. The team has been active and hands-on during the pandemic procuring and distributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and essential supplies to healthcare workers. Dr. Yusuf is a firm believer of free healthcare for all and shares with us IMARET’s journey so far and where Malaysia stands in its handling of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Nicol David made a legacy as the first Malaysian squash player taking the gold medal for nearly 10 years consecutively when she was just 14 years old. The Malaysian people's champion, since her announcement to retire from global squash competitions, has been busy lately making inroads to bring the racquet sport closer to the youth of the nation. David was also appointed as a UN National Goodwill Ambassador and is en route to launching her foundation to empower the younger generation, particularly girls, to get access to, compete in and simply have fun in playing squash.

A lawyer by training, Sabrinah Morad recently moved to an entirely different plane of work driven by her passion for writing for children. She focuses on a difficult conversation on mental health, even harder to open up to children about. Morad's best-selling book, Grey Bear Days, not only awakened the nation to the stigmas and realities around mental health but the need to give those suffering silently a platform and voice. Morad also shares her experience with refugees and asylum seekers doubly impacted by the shortage of mental health services in Malaysia.

Deborah Henry is the 2011 winner of Miss Universe Malaysia who changed paths midway in life to establish a nonprofit organization for refugee children in her hometown of Kuala Lumpur. She chronicles a moving experience with one refugee family from Somalia that inspired her to do something about the thousands of incoming asylum seekers and refugees largely fleeing devastating conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Rakhine State of Myanmar and Somalia in the past decade.
