We are now making strides into the 2019-2020 School Year. Things are definitely up and running at Lamar Elementary, and students are really getting used to the routines, expectations and rules of classrooms and of the campus. Students are now in getting to the meat of education, and I am seeing great things happening in the classrooms at each grade level. Let's take a look at what it means to be a Fundamental Five Campus, some events coming up in the near future, a glance at my book club and wrap it up with some thoughts of what parents can be doing to help out and get involved with their children at home, and at Lamar. In this episode, we will take a look at how we survived week one and share a glimpse of things to come. I will share some tidbits about surviving week one, and how our teachers are starting off on such a great note to the 2019-2020 school year. We will then take a look at some announcements about things that are coming up, in the near future, at Lamar Elementary. I will share what it means to be a PBIS district and PBIS campus, and what that looks like here at Lamar. Finally I will be introducing something new for this school year...called "2nd Tuesday Book Club - Reading with Mr. Vaughn," and what that will look like, as well as introducing our first book...Making Bombs for Hiter, a novel by Marsha Skrypuch.
