Episode #2 Episode Title: Why “More than Normal?” Blurb: So, what is normal, really? In this episode we discuss why we think “normal” is a bad thing and how we evaluate if areas of our life are normal or not. GO/DO: Spend 20 minutes this week evaluating 3-5 areas of your life. Consider the categories of physical health, mental/emotional well-being, partner/love, family, friends, experiences, finances, learning, etc. Use the “green, yellow, red” scale to help you determine what areas are just too normal so that you can figure out where to focus putting skin in the game. Episode Recap: In this episode we spend some time discussing how we define normal. For some, “normal” has a positive connotation, while for others, “normal” can be a negative term. For us, normal means boring, status quo, or average…and we want to live a life of anything but that! We also spend some time discussing the importance of evaluating areas of our life on regular basis and how to evaluate those areas on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis to keep a constant eye on our level of “normal.” Voices in this Episode: Adam Flora Melissa Flora Mentioned in this Episode: Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Planner
Episode # 1 Episode Title: Put Some Skin in the Game The Blurb: Take it from us, starting things can be REALLY HARD. In this episode, we will talk about what it takes to get a dream or goal started. GO/DO: Take the first, tangible, step Episode Recap: In this pilot episode, we spent some time helping any new friends that may be joining us for the first time get to know us better. Once you learned a bit about who we are, we quickly talked about how tough the last year has been and how the rut we were in was something that we needed to overcome together. We finally talked about how that action step came with some risk, but ultimately came by taking one, tangible action step. We needed to put some skin in the game. For us, that skin came in the shape of two very expensive microphones. We knew that once we got those, there was no chance of NOT doing it (pardon the double negative). We wonder what skin you need to put in the game. Do you have a dream that just needs a first step? Well, go buy that ticket, buy that thing, sign up for that class or whatever else you need to do to just get the ball rolling. Voices in this Episode: Adam Flora Melissa Flora
