In this episode, I introduce a very polemic conversation. I warn you this may be triggering. However, it is an essential conversation to open for the wellbeing of all Mujeres and our communities. I do not expect anyone to make themselves vulnerable to this journey without me doing the same. In light of being vulnerable and opening up ourselves to each other, I open up this series with my own testimony. It does not come easy to me but I hope that it will empower you Mujeres to do the same. Sharing is a healing power. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mujernoterajes/message
In this episode, there are two aspects of a breakup being discussed. The breakup itself and the “rebirth” of our individual identity post-breakup. Es muy difícil tomar la decisión de terminar una relación y aún más difícil ejecutarla. I offer you advice on how to deal with this very difficult experience and hope to remind you that you’re not alone and there is a positive side to this heart-wrenching experience. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mujernoterajes/message
Oooh Brujeria! Que tema tan sabroso. I would like to say this is a deep dive into the Brujeria movement but truly this only touches the surface. There is so much history, socially and politically, around this craft. It taps into women's lives directly and indirectly. It is so embedded in Latinx communities and homes, yet we know nothing of it other than its evil and negative connotations as dictated by Christianity. In this episode, I explore the reasons for its public resurface and recent popularization and provide a more general definition of it. It has become so much more than a spiritual practice, it's a social movement and women, humanity, have so much to learn from it. As promised, here are all the links to the resourceful women I cited during this podcast! Growing up we have all heard this infamous dicho, "El hombre llega hasta donde la mujer lo deja." This double-standard saying has so much embedded wisdom. Its original form connotates that a woman is responsible not only for her actions but the man's actions as well. However when you substitute this gender-specific statement for two individuals, regardless of sex, the dicho's overall message becomes about accountability. This episode explores just that. Ways in which we can target red flags of unhealthy and toxic behavior patterns in ourselves, our significant other, and our relationships, as well as examples of self- accountability vs. self-betrayal talk.
