Today's episode with Cami is a special one for her. She will provide the listeners with some insight about a young lady in Charlotte, NC that she considers to be her big sister. Cami has had this young lady, Tamia, in her life since birth. Tamia's little brother, Jaiden, is six months younger than Cami and for roughly two years they were together five days a week. Cami had plenty of time to be with and around Tamia growing up. Most recently, Cami was afforded the opportunity to be a junior bridesmaid in Tamia's wedding. After which, Tamia took Cami out for a "girls day out". Cami wanted to share her feelings with Tamia, and so we did via this episode. Here is Cami talking about Tamia. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/michael-phillips568/support

Today Cami and I discussed the fact that she believes that it is unfair that she should have to do conditioning sessions in addition to her regular tennis lessons and that I should have discussed it with her first. So, Cami goes to tennis camp twice a week for one-hour sessions during the school year and she goes to half-day camps throughout the summer. Her tennis coach, Coach K (as I call her), is a dynamic coach and really demands a lot from her students. Coach K, thought that Cami could really benefit from the conditioning. Not only to increase her stamina but as a way to help Cami deal with adversity and provide discipline. These are two things that all athletes must become familiar with. When I was Cami's age, I played baseball and football. If my coach wanted me to do extra conditioning sessions...I did extra conditioning sessions and that was that. Today, things are a bit different, as I am learning. Hope you enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/michael-phillips568/support
Todays episode is the first in the series and will introduce the listener to the hosts, Michael and Cami. A preview of what the discussions between the two are like on a daily basis. A big part of being Cami's father is to make sure that I am engaged in her life in more ways than just being in the same room with her. It is not only important to discuss her daily activities when she is not with me, but it is also refreshing and entertaining to hear the perspective of a nine year old as it relates to real world events. We hope you will enjoy listening on your commute home or to work and will spend 10 minutes or so with us as we include you in on our conversations.
