My Own Two is a podcast about homelessness. We talk to currently or formerly homeless people and we hear their stories.
In the finale of season one we re-visit Meathead, from episode one. I had plans to meet up with him and Mrs. Gypsey a couple of weeks after we met for the first time. When I went to meet them, only Meathead was there. Listen now to hear why.
In episode six we meet Sophia Parks. Hear her story now.
In episode five we meet Jason Hall. Hear him tell his story as his life is changing quickly.
In episode four we meet Malachi Hardin, a man on the streets of Chattanooga, who gives great insight to the realities of a life without a home.
In episode three we meet Breon Thomas, a young man who was homeless as a child, with his family on the streets of Atlanta. Hear his story.
In episode two we meet Ricky Dixon, a man on the streets of Chattanooga with no shortage of stories to tell from his life. Hear his story.
In episode 1 of My Own Two we meet Meathead & Mrs. Gypsey, a married couple living on the streets of Chattanooga. Hear them speak about their lives, struggles, and thoughts on the situation they're in
For whatever reason, I've always been drawn to homelessness both as a subject, and as a problem. I've always enojyed talking to homeless people and connecting with them and hearing their stories. This podcast is a culmination of several different ideas I've had over the past couple years, trying to figure out the best way to present these kinds of stories. I'm grateful to everyone for listening and I'm excited to share the voices of people who are often overlooked. This is the My Own Two podcast.
