Welcome to the Purple Patch Podcast! In the episode, IRONMAN Master Coach Matt Dixon discusses the importance of a structured off-season for athletes to avoid performance regression. He emphasizes the need for consistent, lighter training rather than complete shutdown or high-volume base building. Dixon highlights the significance of maintaining rhythm, technique, and strength during the off-season to ensure better performance in the next season. He advocates for focusing on specific projects, such as improving technique or building strength, and stresses the importance of organizational effectiveness and supporting habits like sleep and nutrition. Dixon concludes by encouraging athletes to view the off-season as a performance accelerator rather than a break. The Innervisions cofounder reflects on the label's 20-year anniversary, the art of DJing and bringing politics back to the underground. One of the most popular record labels in the RA ecosystem is Innervisions, and one of its most popular DJs is cofounder Steffen Berkhahn, AKA Dixon. He started the outlet in 2005 with Kristian Rädle and Frank Wiedemann of Âme. Back when RA ran DJ polls, Dixon was #1 several years in a row. We've since retired them, but Dixon's appeal remains as widespread as ever. He made a name for himself in Berlin in the '90s when he was just a teenager, spreading a melodic strain of house and techno that became the Innervisions brand and continues to pull heartstrings around the world. This year, the label has been celebrating its 20-year anniversary, and Dixon reflects on its astronomical success on the heels of two major anniversary parties at Berghain and fabric. He also discusses how he's kept the label—and his own career—fresh and relevant; his feelings around commercial success; the importance of taking annual breaks from music and production; and his interest in reclaiming underground electronic music as a political space. Well, that's because I haven't had the pleasure of reviewing the brand new, very first rye whiskey from my friend Dixon Dedman over at 2XO. That's right, folks, this week I'm taking a look at the 2XO White Oak Rye, a double oaked rye whiskey that uses Dixon's proprietary finishing process. Coming in at 92 proof with no age statement, how does this one live up? And, what's this I've got for Flying Blind? Tune in and find out! Send us a textThis one's for the loud girl — the one who laughs too hard, talks too much, and sometimes wonders if she's too much. In this episode, Courtney and Jane dive into the beauty and chaos of being bold, outspoken, and authentic — especially in the world of dating. From confidence and calling to the art of holy boldness and navigating relationships with grace, this conversation reminds every “loud girl” that her voice has a purpose — and it's meant to be heard.Discussion Questions:Have you ever felt like you had to “tone yourself down” to be more likable or approachable? Why do you think so many women feel that pressure? How can being confident and outspoken actually reflect God's design for femininity? What does it look like to honor who God made you to be—in friendships, work, and relationships—without apologizing for it?Tan Digital: Coming from Tan Books is a new app, that is basically an online Catholic bookstore, that you can find in the app store!
