Welcome to panDADmic I'm Marc Acton of Mix 106.5. In this podcast series I'll be chatting with some great Bay Area dads to see how they've kept it together, or not, living through an entire year of a pandemic. It's been the hardest thing I've ever had to do and I found talking with other dads honestly about our experiences has been like therapy. I hope in listening you'll find some comfort hearing similar stories that you've probably lived through as well.
Bruce Scott is the morning show host on 94.5 Bay FM. Bruce is one of the best radio hosts I've ever worked with. He's also a great drummer - when you can go see live music again you should check out his band, Fossil Farm. I'm grateful for Bruce taking with me and opening up about an extremely painful time for him during the pandemic.
My guest today is Danny Miller. He's the PA announcer for the San Jose Sharks, San Francisco 49ers, and San Jose Earthquakes. He's also on-air weekends at 94.5 Bay FM. And, he's one of the most fun guys to have a drink with. I'm lucky to work alongside Danny and to call him a friend.
Joey Vee is a radio legend. When I started out in radio he was a huge inspiration for me. I was so happy to chat with him for this podcast. His pandemic story is one of perseverance and reinvention. He's a great dad and if you're looking to get in-shape, Joey is your guy!
My guest today is KPIX 5's news reporter Kiet Do. He's a great follow on social media. I find his posts inspiring and motivating. He just seems like a genuinely nice guy and after we talked I told my wife, "I just want to be best friends with that guy." This is a little longer episode because Kiet turned the tables on me and asked me some questions at the end - which was so enjoyable for me!
My guest today is Congressman Eric Swalwell. He is now in his 4th term representing California's 15th District which covers much of the East Bay. In doing my research on him I'm about 99% sure we played soccer against each other as teenagers! I was really excited to talk with him because I couldn't imagine what it must have been like being in congress and a dad during the wild ride that was the year 2020.
My guest this episode is NBC Bay Area News Anchor Raj Mathai. Raj is not just one of the most well known Bay Area journalists but one of the most well known Bay Area people in general. I was actually nervous to talk with him! Right when you hear his voice you're like, "Ah...the news is on!" He's just a great guy and was so open about his experience working and being a dad during the pandemic.
