Digital Media & Computerized Manufacturing Technology Programs
This 2-year Associate in Arts program has an emphasis on digital media and is designed for students interested in media studies, journalism and other related fields. With successful completion, students can transfer to a 4-year college or university to complete a bachelor’s degree. Students learn to develop written, visual and auditory content for online journalism, manage information systems commonly used by online media outlets, communicate effectively, evaluate and process quantitative and symbolic data, think logically and critically, understand themselves within the context of a multicultural world, and comprehend the ethics and responsibilities of content creation and distribution.
The Certificate of Proficiency in Computer Numerical Control Technician and the Associate of Applied Science degree in Computerized Manufacturing Technology introduce students to the knowledge and skills necessary to design and create products for the manufacturing industry. Students operate manual machining mills and lathes and will use MASTERCAM CAD/CAM software to operate three-axis robotic numerical control machines. Their training uses manufacturing-related math, industry blueprint reading, CAD geometry, CAM toolpaths, precision measurement, machine setup and operation and quality control procedures.
