Horse/Hoarse (with instrumental music)

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 6, 2019 13:53

This is the same narrative as my previous non-instrumental version of Horse/Hoarse. I added the music to create a little more feeling, a little melodrama. It is definitely one of my favorite pieces to re-read and listen to. How can you not love a car that talks to the moon while a cat occasionally sings? It is an automotive, lunar, feline self-help story about finding your identity by doing what you need to do without waiting for the push (or the turn of the key) from others. Will you always succeed? Or course not, but you will always know that you did it on your own. Enjoy! Please comment and let me know what you think. Good days always to you!!!

A Song A Question

A Song A Question is about loss. More specifically, it is about how loss can confuse us, damage us, and leave us talking to ourselves. It is a very special piece for me because it was one of the first pieces I read at Mickey's Gyros, the local joint for my small college town's every-last-Friday-of-the-month open mic nights. I greatly welcome any and all comments. Good days always to you and may you find whatever it is you have lost.

Battered

Battered has a special place in my heart. In this piece, the sea, the sky, the wilderness, and the animals talk to me. They are hurting, they are sad, and they are angry. All I can do is offer a pathetic, useless sorry. Thanks for listening. I greatly appreciate any and all comments. Good days always to you!!!

Korean Ship Yard

This was written while I was living and working as an English teacher in Gunsan, South Korea. One of my favorite things to do at that time was to take long walks alone through the city. I would just explore any street or alley I felt I needed to. One time I ended up at an old ship yard for fishing boats. I wrote this while I was there. I welcome any and all comments. Thanks for listening. Good days always to you!

Fast Food Deal

This piece describes a drug deal. It was one, I will admit, that I took part in while I was traveling in Cocha Bamba, Bolivia. My friend and I bought some pot from a nicely dressed woman at McDonalds. I welcome any and all comments.

Cliche

"Cliche" is a favorite of mine that I have held onto for many years Actually, I hold on to everything I have written; however, I re-read "Cliche" every so often because I want to remember what "striving for nonconformity" means. I welcome any and all comments. Thanks for listening.

Act One Scene One

This is a stream of consciousness piece written in Thailand and later slightly edited. It is about being happy with who you are where you are. Good days always to you!

Horse / Horse

This is a short story about a Blue Buick that has a conversation with the moon. It is about not needing to wait for somebody to give you motivation. Your movement is defined by your actions. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed reading it. Good days always to you!
