Trump keeps digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself now calling what Epstein was involved in the "Jeffery Epstein Hoax!". It's obvious he's lying. So why are his die hard supporters unable to see it - and accept a reality? Why do people cling to such tenuous threads to keep their faith in politicians and political parties like a battered spouse that won't leave a marriage.

It's the midweek edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with Eddie, Steve, and Declan. After a promising start to the year, we weary Wests Tigers fans are trying to pick ourselves off the floor, and the podcast boys are no different. There is a preview of our sides clash with the Roosters, a game that potentially has all the hallmarks of a Wests Tigers flogging. But, with the Roosters also missing several star players, are they ripe for a loss in this one? The boys also dig into some of Shane Richardson's quotes on departed hooker, Tallyn De Silva. Was the boss right to let the talented rake walk now? Or is the club continuing to just be the NRL walkovers? Also up for discussion on this edition of the pod is the future of coach Benji Marshall, with the question being - can he withstand this firestorm? Is he too tight with certain players? Should he be joining in at training? And, is he safe beyond 2025? Plus, Eddie, Steve, and Declan rip into a few journalists and ex-players looking for clicks! And Yioti's quiz brings up a player who had big shoes to fill! Don't forget, win, lose, or draw, to leave your 'One Word' submission on the Roosters game in the live match thread on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. And feel free to join in the discussion on any Wests Tigers topic as well! Let's hope that the boys can jag a rare Roosters win this weekend, and we'll see you for the post-match edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast on Monday morning.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On the latest episode of The Mets Pod presented by Tri-State Cadillac, Connor Rogers and Joe DeMayo recap another tough week for the Mets, while looking ahead to the Brewers at Citi Field and the second round of this season's Subway Series. First things first, the guys go through the team's struggles hitting with runners in scoring position, how much the hitting coaches should or should not be to blame, as well as the multiple issues with the starting rotation. Later, Connor and Joe go Down on the Farm to check in on Francisco Alvarez, Brandon Sproat, Nolan McLean, and Jonah Tong - while also addressing which prospects they would be willing to include in potential trades. The show then wraps up by announcing the winners of the Mets Pod hat giveaway, and then answering Mailbag questions about the return of injured Mets, the potential of trading for Byron Buxton, and if the Mets offense can flip the switch back to “on!” Be sure to subscribe to The Mets Pod at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.Today's Show:00:00 Welcome to the show!01:05 The Week That Was…Bad Again05:00 Hitting with RISP is just not happening12:15 Should we blame the hitting coaches?19:10 The starting rotation is hurting in many ways23:10 When will we see Nolan McLean?26:30 The Paul Blackburn problem30:30 Back on the Farm: Francisco Alvarez36:45 Down on the Farm/Mailbag: Jonah Tong38:45 Down on the Farm/Mailbag: which prospects to trade?44:00 The Scoreboard: last week's recap45:35 The Scoreboard: making this week's bets53:25 The Mets Pod hat sweepstakes, here are the winners!53:55 Mailbag – magically fixing injuries, who do you got?58:25 Mailbag – trade for Byron Buxton, can offense flip the switch?01:07:50 Mailbag – have we seen enough of Baty, Vientos, and Mauricio to know their future?

Today, we gathered to face one of the most challenging realities of our faith: the presence of suffering and the question of why God allows pain, even for those who love Him. We began by celebrating the good news of God's work through our church family—both locally and globally—reminding ourselves that every good thing is a gift from God's grace. Yet, as we continued in our “Forged” series, we turned to the hard truth that life is not always as we plan, and sometimes God's path for us includes pain, disappointment, and unanswered prayers.Drawing from 2 Corinthians 12, we looked at the life of Paul, a man who experienced both extraordinary blessings and deep suffering. Paul's “thorn in the flesh” is a powerful reminder that even the most faithful followers of Jesus are not exempt from hardship. Paul pleaded with God to remove his suffering, but God's answer was not what he expected. Instead of removal, God offered His sustaining grace: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This is a truth that runs throughout Scripture—God does not always change our circumstances, but He changes us in the midst of them.We explored the analogy of photography, where negatives are necessary to produce positives. In the same way, the negatives in our lives—the pain, the disappointments, the thorns—are part of the process God uses to develop us into the image of Christ. We are not promised a life free from suffering, but we are promised God's presence and His grace to sustain us. The story of Job, the suffering of the apostles, and ultimately the suffering of Jesus Himself all point to a God who redeems pain and uses it for His glory and our good. The challenge for us is not to avoid suffering, but to lean into it, trusting that God is forging something beautiful even in the darkroom of our pain. We can choose to become bitter, battered, or better. The invitation is to allow God's grace to meet us in our weakness, to let our suffering become a platform for His power, and to remember that this is not the end—heaven is ahead, and God's redemption is sure.Chapters :[00:00] - Welcome[01:00] - Celebrating God's Work Through Our Church[03:30] - The Apollo 13 “Successful Failure” and God's Unexpected Plans[05:45] - Prayer for God's Comfort and Guidance[08:01] - Rethinking “Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?”[10:38] - The Reality of Sin and God's Grace[12:40] - Paul's Suffering and the “Thorn in the Flesh”[15:40] - Wrestling with God's Refining Process[18:27] - The Analogy of Negatives and Positives in Life[21:11] - The Darkroom: How God Develops Us Through Pain[25:32] - Suffering in the Story of Scripture[27:39] - Paul's Visions, Blessings, and Humility[32:28] - God's Grace in Weakness[54:10] - Choices in Suffering: Bitter, Battered, or Better[01:04:11] - Closing Prayer and Invitation
The Phillies had a chance to sweep the Braves last week before losing Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader.Still, the Phillies had momentum entering this weekend's series against the Brewers. But Milwaukee pummeled the Phillies, sweeping them at Citizens Bank Park for the first time since 2014. Almost everything went wrong. Sure, the Phils were without Bryce Harper, who is recovering from a HBP on his right elbow. But the pitching was bad at times, while the defense was arguably worse. Hollywood, a name synonymous with cinema, is seeing its stars fade. Much more than a mythical place, it's a global industry that generates revenue in the billions making it one of the biggest contributors to California's economy. The box office is plummeting, and studios are relocating for lower production costs — be it in the United States or abroad. Is Hollywood at the dawn of a revival or at the end of its reign? Valérie Defert and Pierrick Leurent explore the challenges facing the movie capital of the world.
AP correspondent Julie Walker reports severe weather leaves at least 23 dead, including 14 in Kentucky.
