Hi, I'm Jon and I'm legally blind. It occurred to me that my experiences and feelings about my vision might be shared by others so I created a podcast to start a conversation about what it's like to be visually impaired in a largely sighted world. Come join us! Become a supporter of this podcast:…
One of my most popular episodes is about limitations. Both those placed on us by others and those we place on ourselves. I posited that the way that we adapt to our limitations is what makes us unique and gives us the ability to tdo what we want. On today's show we explore the types of adaptations that we may be called upon to make in order to make things happen. Along the way I've included some personal anecdotes about how I have adapted and continue to do so in order to accomplish things that I and others never thought was possible for me. On today's episode we are going to look at visual impairment from the perspective of our loved ones or other people that we have relationships with. This is a multi part series and it begins with me talking to my wife. If you have questions or want to contribute to the show then hit me up on social media. Linktree You can also email me here. Sometimes when you are visually impaired you can begin to think that the only reason that you got to where you are is because of others. Either they felt sorry for you or cut you a break that they wouldn't have given someone else. You feel like you didn't earn it. Today we talk about the specific type of impostor syndrome inherent with physical challenges and how we combat it.
