Until you have spent time with Smoky Hill's Brennan Brown, you don't have any idea of what you are missing out on. Brennan is just one of the many amazing math teachers here at Smoky Hill High School. He is a husband, father, teacher, coach, and an avid gamer (and the list could go on). This may be his first year on the Hill, but this is a guy who gets it! He loves the kids, our school culture, and working with a staff that is second-to-none.
This week we sit down and enjoy a conversation with SHHS Security Specialist, Alejandra Quezada-Meraz. We talk about her early childhood, her graduation from CCSD's Overland High School, and the love she has for the kids and school culture here at Smoky Hill High School. Alejandra gives us a glimpse of her life that she rarely shares with others, so sit back and get to know her as very few have.
Have you ever thought about how your personality affects your relationship with others? In this episode, Kiera Latta and Abbi Selby, SHHS freshmen, join us to talk about a specific personality assessment- Enneagram. We discuss with them the importance of knowing who we are individually, and how that can help our relationships with friends, teachers, family members, and future employers.
Get ready to engage your inner gamer! SHHS technology specialist and e-sports head coach, Jia Lin, is our guest in the first half of the program. He talks with us about the school's e-sports team and how they are powering their way through the season. In the second half of the show we are joined by SHHS senior, Brandy Nalyanya who shares her thoughts on race, equity, belonging, and where she sees the future of our country.
This week we talk about the transition to Remote Learning; a transition from hybrid to fully remote that has been a true testament to the resilience and teamwork of our community. We also sit down with SHHS senior, Sophia Cupp, who shares with us more of who she is as a student, what she loves about our school, and what it means to be a member of the Buffalo community. Sophia also sticks around for our lunch break to talk hoops, music, and what she is thankful for during this holiday season.
