I sat down with Lionel Vujasin, Alex West and Claudia Behring to dissect the current state of cycling eSports. Back in January, we recorded the first of these team chats and we wanted to look back on 6 months to see what had changed and what still needs to. We covered off all the relevant eRacing topics, what Zwift needs to do to improve and what's changed for us as a team. I sat down to talk about the world of Eracing (physical Esports) with my team Canyon ZCC. This new sport is still in its infancy and with a long road still to travel, so we discussed where that road might lead and what needs to be done in order to get there. I was joined by riders Lionel Vujasin, Alex West and Eva Buchholz. If you're interested in following the team then you can do on Instagram or our website canyonzcc.com
Mark and I look back on our journey after a week since we finished. Could we remember anything from this epic bikepacking adventure? There’s only one way to find out. This is a long one so make yourself a cup of tea and buckle up.
We finally made it to Koblenz! What an absolutely epic day with brutal rain and riding in the dark through the woods. But 200km later we were finally home and dry (jokes - we were very wet). Here we try to process exactly what it was we had just done.
What. A. Day. This was a brutal day that just kept hammering us but we kept on at it and were rewarded with some amazing moments.
We left Köthen in the dark and made our way slowly across the former East all the way to Erfurt. Whilst this day was technically harder, we both experienced it in different ways. But that’s bikepacking!
Day 1 is finally over and we made it to our first stop - Köthen. Today was a tough day with the former East offering little but open fields and straight roads. 160km down, 540km to go. Follow us on Instagram - #BerlinToKoblenz
Tomorrow Mark and I will set off on our bikepacking adventure across Germany in a trip we are dubbing ‘the commute’. Be sure to follow every day to see how we’re getting on.
Its the end of day two of my ride from Canyon to Rapha. The riding is great - the camping is terrible and the ticks are everywhere!
I am on my way to Koblenz to pick up my new bike before riding it back to Berlin!
