Under The Lights

The first episode of the 19/20 season! Pat, Tom and Eamonn head to Atherton Collieries for their FA Cup first round replay against punk football architects, FC United of Manchester. They are joined by one of the founders and former board members of FCUM, George Baker. They talk about the journey of FCUM in becoming one of the sexiest examples of the protest club and how this could be translated to Bury. This week the lads sit in a beer garden by the river and discuss the 2018 / 2019 season. They were meant to get one more full episode recorded but Tom ruined it all out of malice and spite. After a 15 minute season review there is a brief explanation of the plan of action for next season. There will be two Under the Lights episodes a month, complete with guest, for the entire season. Moz is an absolute gent and fleshes out our first topic, the role of the EPL and EFL with regards to club ownership, with his experiences of fighting for a better future for the Sky Blue Army. In the second half we chat about whether Neil Warnock is right in his belief that English referees are the worst in the world. All of this goes on at Loughborough Dynamo's Nanpantan Sports Ground. The visitors are struggling Carlton Town, desperate for a point or three in an attempt to stay up in the Northern Premier League Division One East. As always the language is industrial.

The lads are joined by the well informed and well Brummie Chris Pugh from SRB Radio's "Tilton Talk Show", a broadcast dedicated to all things Birmingham City. Inevitably the rubbish punch of a blue nose on Jack Grealish's ear does come up but the main topics of the pod are player power and VAR. All of this goes on at Solihull Moors' Damson Park as the hosts face Gateshead in what turns out to be a feisty encounter between two promotion hopefuls. The language, as always, is choice.
