While traveling I’m capturing, sounds, songs and stories. By doing this I hope to come even closer to people and touch upon the things that are mostly hidden for visitors. By using audio instead of image I hope to discover stories behind places that I visited and avoid the urge to make quick picture…
Nepal is known for there trekking, although I did not go to Nepal for this I decided to try and experience this. I choose the Langtang trek. And you can hear some small conversations I had with Monoj about the trek.

Meet Purna, when I walked around Dhurlikhel a mountain village near Katmandu I was somehow drawn to his place. A restaurant , hotel and art gallery. The walls are filled with paintings and drawings and around the room there are piles of art where you can look through. He himself is not an artist but a collector of art he tells me, and a beautiful story teller.

My favorite place in katmandu is the boudhanath Stupa, the biggest buddhist Stupa of Nepal. I saw a monk doing his prayers at sunset. When I asked him if I could record his song he set me down and offered me some milk tea. During this track you might hear the woman selling the tea taking out some plastic cups. And in the end of the prayer I ask him what I can do back in return, he said nothing, you listened and that is enough. I decided to put in the whole prayer it’s about 13 min long.
While I’m traveling Though Asia I’m capturing, sounds, songs and stories. By doing this I hope to come even closer to people and touch upon the things that are mostly hidden for visitors. There is little in terms of a plan, but not all those who wander are lost.
