The Yale Center for British Art houses the largest collection of British art outside the United Kingdom. It offers a year-round schedule of engaging programs, including lectures, concerts, films, symposia, and tours related to British art and culture.
Mark Leonard, Chief Conservator at the Dallas Museum of Art, presents the opening lecture for the special exhibition, "Reflections on Constable's Cloud Studies: Paintings by Mark Leonard," on view at the Yale Center for British Art from November 30, 2012 to March 13, 2013. The exhibition features a suite of eleven works by Leonard created in response to John Constable’s cloud studies and small landscapes in the Center’s collection. The paintings are displayed in a one-to-one relationship with Constable’s works, allowing visitors to study Constable in a new light, and to appreciate Leonard’s rigorously structured and highly detailed paintings.
