POPULARITY
In spring 2009, alumni, parents, and friends were invited to Love of Learning: Reed's Centennial Conference to reflect on a century of learning and take a personal stake in Reeds next 100 years. The program, which took place in cities across the country and in London, launched the celebration of Reeds upcoming centennial. President Colin Diver led discussion with professors about teaching at Reed and the community that makes this passion for education possible. Also, in each city a local alumni speaker talked about his/her experience at Reed and beyond. The program also included a reception, a short video, and small-group discussions. Record numbers of Reedies contributed to dynamic conversations about how their educational experience defined them and what makes this centennial a meaningful institutional touchstone.
