Where Faith, Fashion & Business live.
In this episode i talk about my own recent experience with cycles and the tactics i implemented to free myself from it. Of course its ensuring i dont fall back into such a deep rooted pattern is an ongoing task. But the hope that comes with battling your mind for a breakthrough and winning that battle really encourages you to continue working towards being free from them altogether.
I was moved to talk about this because after being completely engrossed in my own struggle i recognized that everyone around me is in crisis— and though it doesn’t look exactly like mine it cannot be disregarded. I also wanted to highlight how critical our thought process is right now, and the fact that we could all be a bit gentler with ourselves. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.Ecclesiastes 3:3To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:Resources:Affirmations: Who I am.
This podcast was a challenge to record and edit— to say the least. Three recordings, two seperate edits, and one topic that weighed on my soul. I was hesitant because I felt i was exposing too much— but i feel like the most resonant work comes from that place.
For where God is taking you, the things that you hold on to as crutches, you have to let go to be able to walk on your own. I have battled with my feelings for years— in silence of course, because who wants to appear weak? At least that’s what I considered to be weakness in my immaturity. What I have found to be true, however, is the opposite— that being emotional and learning to hone those emotions and overcome them is the true of strength. So I hope this episode resonates with you— I pray that if it does nothing it helps you realize that you are not alone, that God has positioned people in your life for this exact moment in time. And beyond that, he brought you across this episode so you could realize you’re not the only one who feels the way you do right now, and it will pass.Episode Quotable:For where God is taking you, the things that you hold on to as crutches, you have to let go to be able to walk on your own.Scriptural Reference:Hebrews 4:15 (NIV)15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.Resources:Daily Connection Sheet2. Scriptural Reference:1 Corinthians 13 : 4-84 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.Source: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+13%3A4-8&version=NIVEpisode quotable:“ The price of God’s revelation is that you have to implement that into your life every single day.”
