In this episode of the 2 Be Better Podcast, Chris answers real relationship questions submitted by listeners and tackles the conversations most people are afraid to have. From marriage, submission, leadership, boundaries, trust, jealousy, financial struggles, social media addiction, and protecting intimacy, to maintaining connection when work keeps couples apart, these emails expose the everyday problems that can quietly destroy relationships when people refuse to communicate. Chris breaks down the difference between submission and control, requests and demands, insecurity and legitimate boundaries, while challenging both men and women to take accountability for the role they play in their relationships. This isn't traditional relationship advice. These are raw, unfiltered answers about marriage, masculine leadership, feminine submission, communication, personal accountability, dating, trust, intimacy, money, and becoming a better partner. You'll hear why your partner can't read your mind, how unspoken expectations create resentment, why boundaries require communication, how social media can distort your perception of relationships, and why being present with your partner matters more than trying to recover time you've already lost. If you're trying to build a stronger marriage, improve communication, understand relationship dynamics, or stop repeating the same destructive patterns, this episode will give you plenty to think about.Disclaimer: We are not professionals. The internet is rife with chatter about “heteropessimism,” the feeling that gender relations are broken and heterosexual relationships are doomed. But is this just cynical discourse, like a coping mechanism for bad dates? Or is this a symptom of a much deeper, systemic breakdown? In this episode of The Gray Area, guest host Jonquilyn Hill is joined by Sarah Jones, senior writer for The Intelligencer. Together, they peel back the performative irony to look at the harsh realities of dating in a post-Dobbs, politically volatile United States. From the economic structures that make leaving bad relationships feel impossible, to the "manosphere" versus the "pink pill," Sarah and Jonquilyn discuss why we are struggling to connect — and why "hopeful pessimism" might be the most responsible way to build a future. Have you ever felt like you're "too much" or "too needy" in dating? Bu what if it's simply a sign you're dating the wrong people? In this episode, Julie challenges the belief that you need to be less emotional, less expressive, or less yourself to find love. Instead, she explains why the right relationships make you feel more secure, not more anxious, and how constantly feeling rejected or not enough says more about compatibility than your worth. Solutions include rotating members out briefly to lead discussions, utilizing dedicated group messaging apps, and holding casual home gatherings. Navigating the New Sunday Schedule: The transition to shortened 25-minute class periods brings anxiety, but leaders emphasize using official Church materials and maintaining realistic expectations while finding a new operational rhythm. Evolving YSA Dating Dynamics: Modern single adults face significant challenges in finding marriage partners due to shifting cultural values, delayed timelines, and differing personal or political priorities. Power of Informal Gatherings: Organic, non-assigned home study groups (e.g., Come, Follow Me or General Conference review groups) build deeper ward unity, psychological safety, and ministering opportunities than structured Sunday classes alone. Building Ward Culture: Leadership is fundamentally about culture-building. Leaders must proactively address secular cultural influences and create intentional spaces for gospel-centered connection. Leadership Applications Organize Organic Home Gatherings: Encourage members or leaders to host low-pressure home study groups (such as an empty-nester Come, Follow Me night) with snacks and informal discussion to strengthen local relationships. Rotate Out-of-Room Teachers: Elders Quorum and Relief Society presidencies can arrange substitutes for primary teachers once a quarter to allow them to attend adult classes or lead a discussion. Streamline Group Communication: Implement digital communication tools (e.g., GroupMe or Discord) to share ward event links and keep members serving in auxiliary callings informed on adult quorum activities. Doug explains why emotional safety is built through consistency, how taking ownership without blame creates trust, and why calling out "the elephant in the room" can become a turning point for connection. Today on The Treehouse Show, we've got a couple of Reddit relationship disasters that raise some serious questions about what your significant other really needs to know about your past.First, a woman thinks her boyfriend is probably going to leave her after she got drunk and admitted to a co-worker that she once got pregnant after hooking up with a guy on the bathroom floor of a club. Her boyfriend heard the confession, and now she's wondering if she just destroyed her relationship. Is he overreacting—or did she reveal something he has every right to care about? Then we've got a wife who's furious after finding out her husband slept with his sister. Before you call the police, there's a catch—and somehow we're actually siding with the husband on this one.Celebrity birthdays take us down another rabbit hole as we talk Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Hollywood backend points, and how some actors can make an absolute fortune after a movie leaves theaters.Plus, Trey explains why he thinks the all-female fight scene in Avengers: Endgame was completely unnecessary, and somehow we wind up remembering the classic TV series Emergency!Reddit relationship drama, Marvel arguments, Hollywood money, and old-school television. Just another day in The Treehouse Show.About the show:Leave your worries outside and join Dan O'Malley, Trey Trenholm, and their hilarious guests for laughs about funny news and viral stories with ridiculous commentary inside the Treehouse Show.
Dating after divorce is a whole different world.Dating apps. Men holding fish. Men who apparently have never taken a decent selfie. Threesomes. Ethical non-monogamy. And the occasional man who looks way better in person than his profile would have you believe. But underneath all of the chaos is a much more important question:How do you know who you're actually dealing with before you get attached? With Dawn away, Coach Tiffini and Joy are joined again by Christianna, Kelly, and Jo from our current A Different D Word cohort for a very unfiltered conversation about what it actually looks like to start dating after divorce. And this one goes places. We're talking about the questions women often don't ask soon enough:What was your part in your divorce? What does “I want a long-term relationship” actually mean to you?How do I know you've done the work? Are you actually ready for a relationship—or do you just think you are?How do you talk about your ex?What are you looking for five years from now?Are we monogamous? And how early is too early to start asking the really uncomfortable questions?Plus, Jo shares what it's like to date again after nearly 50 years—and why she's asking about everything from STD testing and meeting the family to sexual boundaries, physical health and, yes… whether the pipes still work. But the biggest conversation isn't really about finding the right man. It's about who you are while you're looking for him.Can you state what you want without shrinking it when someone attractive shows up? Can you hold a boundary and watch what he does instead of getting swept up in what he says? Can you walk away when something doesn't fit instead of convincing yourself you can live with it?Because chemistry can make a lot of things feel negotiable that weren't negotiable five minutes before you met him. Before you swipe right—or get attached to the next person who does—this is the conversation we want you to hear.Ask the hard questions. Have a plan. Stick to it. And don't do it alone.Support the showYou can't think your way into healing
On Save The Date S2 E12, Jamie and Heath ask a deceptively simple question: are you dating for entertainment, or are you dating for connection? The conversation gets into the characters people play, the gestures we mistake for intention, and the pressure to perform as the perfect provider, partner, lover, or “catch.” From expensive dates and relationship theater to social media turning dating into content, Jamie and Heath explore what happens when the performance becomes more important than the person. At the heart of the episode is a deeper challenge: real connection requires more than chemistry, attention, or impressive gestures. It requires honesty about who you are, what you want, and what you are actually willing to give. Because there is a big difference between looking like a good partner and actually knowing how to be one. #SaveTheDatePodcast #ModernDating #DatingCulture #Authenticity #EmotionalConnection

Why do you keep chasing someone who only shows up halfway? Sabrina breaks down the difference between choosing yourself and waiting to be chosen, and why hope works exactly like a slot machine when you are stuck in a situationship. She reads a listener letter about falling for a married man from the gym, unpacks why ghosting and mixed signals feel so addictive, and explains how intermittent reinforcement turns a fantasy into an obsession you cannot shake. Plus the first ever listener voice note on modern dating and dating app burnout, why early intensity says nothing about someone's intention, and a rapid fire round covering how to get over not being chosen, surviving a long distance breakup, handling core wounds and triggers that pop up out of nowhere, and what to demand when someone comes crawling back. If you are done with breadcrumbs, low effort dating, and being the one who always texts first, this one is for you. Pre-order Sabrina's book coming out October 2026, "Why Am I Like This?" Apparently, humans are talking less, dating costs roughly the GDP of a small island nation, and picking the wrong restaurant might get you rejected before you even order an appetizer. Welcome to another funny podcast episode of The Rizzuto Show, where modern romance, social skills, and basic human interaction are put under the microscope by several men who may or may not be qualified to operate said microscope. The crew kicks things off with a study suggesting people are speaking 30% fewer words per day than they did 20 years ago. Texting, remote work, apps, online ordering, and our collective desire to avoid asking strangers how their day is going may be slowly murdering small talk. Naturally, this turns into a debate over whether small talk is an important social skill or just an obstacle standing between you and the salad you ordered downstairs.Moon admits that talking to strangers has basically become his personal training regimen, Rafe defends the lost art of actually communicating with another human being, Scott brings the small-town friendliness, and Rizz is patiently waiting for telepathy so he can stop participating altogether. Then things somehow get philosophical. Are social media platforms actually “social” anymore? Did we replace friends with followers? Are we eventually getting an app where everyone just grunts at each other? Honestly, don't rule it out. From there, the funny podcast chaos heads directly into dating.First up: is having roommates a romantic deal breaker? A dating trend suggests some singles see living alone as proof that you've got your life together financially and personally. That raises the obvious question: do men and women judge this the same way? Rafe has some thoughts, including exactly how much questionable housekeeping a man might overlook when he finds someone attractive. We regret to inform you the answer is: quite a bit.Money isn't helping matters either. A survey says 25% of Americans believe their financial situation has prevented them from finding true love, while the conversation introduces an estimated six-figure salary tied to feeling financially ready for romance. Apparently Cupid has updated his terms of service and now requires proof of income. Finally, we arrive at the Great Restaurant Debate.A 29-year-old comedian and influencer went viral after canceling a first date with a 38-year-old finance guy because his restaurant selection was too casual. Her argument? The restaurant a potential partner chooses says something about compatibility, lifestyle, and effort. The show's counterargument quickly becomes slightly less scientific: what exactly qualifies someone as “Chili's material”?Moon defends the right to have whatever ridiculous dating standards you want. Rizz defends his right to judge those ridiculous standards. Rafe points out that what many guys consider an elaborate special occasion might basically be what women already organize with their friends on a random Sunday.Somehow everybody has a point, which is deeply inconvenient. So what's the real dating red flag: roommates, bad texting, cheap restaurants, unrealistic expectations, or being incapable of carrying on a five-minute phone conversation? We don't solve any of those problems, obviously. But this funny podcast does provide plenty of unsolicited analysis from Rizz, Moon Valjean, King Scott, and Rafe Williams.Come for the death of small talk. Stay for the dating economics. Leave questioning whether you're fancy-restaurant material or destined for the 2-for-$20 forever.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
