We are officially living the "O-head" Olympic lifestyle, but the podium isn't all glory. This week, we're debating Lindsey Vonn's controversial decision to compete on a torn ACL. Was it a display of heart, or did she rob a healthy athlete of their shot at gold? Plus, we break down the most unhinged post-race interview in history: a Norwegian bronze medalist who decided a global broadcast was the perfect place to trauma-dump about his infidelity and recent breakup. The conversation takes a serious turn as we dive into the Lucy Letby case. We analyze the trial of the neonatal nurse convicted of murdering infants and ask the tough question: was justice served, or did a flawed medical system produce a flawed trial? We also tackle the modern feminist dilemma of splitting the bill on a first date and explore the dark side of the creator economy—YouTubers who use FOIA requests to profit off body cam footage of women being arrested. Finally, Sarah is prepping for jury duty, and we're taking bets on how long it takes her to turn the courtroom into a Law & Order episode. #LucyLetby #OlympicDrama #LindseyVonn #TrueCrimePodcast #FirstDateEtiquetteBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:For 50% off your order, head to https://www.dailylook.com and use code BRAINCANDYFor a limited time, get 60% off your first order, plus free shipping, when you head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandyHead to https://www.brodo.com/CANDY for 20% off your first subscription order and use code CANDY for an additional $10 off. Dating apps and websites are booming right now as people look for ways to leverage to find love or even just companionship. Liesel Sharabi of Arizona State University compiled a meta-analysis of a huge number of studies about the connection between online dating and mental health and the results? Kind of bad news. People who use the apps compulsively, swiping all day long, are much more likely to be depressed and anxious. But were they depressed because they used the apps or did the use the apps because they were depressed? We'll get into that, plus the terrifying imminent AI dating revolution. Then we talk to Dr. Sarah Jerstad, the Clinical Director of Psychological Services at Children's Minnesota about what kids are going through amid the ICE presence, what the short and long term effects of this activity have been and will be, and how parents and other adults can best help them.Thank you to all our listeners who support the show as monthly members of Maximum Fun.Check out our I'm Glad You're Here and Depresh Mode merchandise at the brand new merch website MaxFunStore.com!Hey, remember, you're part of Depresh Mode and we want to hear what you want to hear about. Based on the released Department of Justice files, here is a rundown of the connection between Jeffrey Epstein and Kimbal MuskThe Engineered RelationshipIn September 2012, around the time of Kimbal Musk's 40th birthday, Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Boris Nikolic actively orchestrated a meeting between Kimbal and an unnamed woman in Epstein's circle. Emails show Nikolic telling Epstein to "prepare [the woman]" for the meeting and suggesting Kimbal might want to "ditch his ex" to be with her.Following a lunch at Epstein's Manhattan penthouse in October 2012, Kimbal emailed both men to express his gratitude: "Jeffrey and Boris, many thanks for connecting me with [the woman]. I believe you both played a role. :)". Nikolic replied with a warning for Kimbal to "be nice" to her, as Epstein "goes crazy when someone mistreats his girls/friends".Depth of InvolvementThe relationship lasted approximately six months, during which Epstein remained a significant behind-the-scenes presence:• Backchannel Communication: The woman frequently forwarded Kimbal's personal messages to Epstein and sought his advice on how to handle the relationship.• Travel Planning: Epstein suggested romantic destinations like Morocco and kept a detailed itinerary of the couple's travels from October through January.• Advice on "Dating": When Kimbal attempted to scale back the relationship to "just dating" in April 2013, the woman consulted Epstein. Epstein responded, "good news now i have you back again, full time," and invited her to his ranch.Attempts to Reach Elon MuskSources suggest Epstein viewed Kimbal as a "means of gaining connection to the Musk family," specifically his older brother, Elon. In late 2012, Epstein and Elon Musk exchanged direct emails regarding a potential visit to Epstein's private island. Elon asked, "What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?". While the trip reportedly did not happen due to logistics, the emails indicate a period where Epstein actively "courted" both brothers.Public Denials vs. Documented EvidenceIn 2026, Kimbal Musk posted a statement on X claiming he only met Epstein once in a New York office during the day and denied that Epstein introduced him to the woman. However, the sources note that Kimbal appears in the Epstein files more than 300 times. The emails depict a "far friendlier and more intricate relationship" than Kimbal has publicly acknowledged, including social jokes about coordinating Halloween costumes and invitations to SpaceX launches.Consequences and Public ReactionThe exposure has led to significant public backlash. Kimbal Musk recently left the board of the Burning Man festival following an open letter from the community calling for a review of his position. While the documents do not accuse the Musk brothers of illegal wrongdoing, they have caused significant "embarrassment and public disgust" by revealing their proximity to Epstein's social and sexual network
You're listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for February 13, 2026. 0:30 If you’re in ICE detention and don’t like the conditions, there’s an option millions of legal immigrants already understand: you’re free to go home. We dismantle claims that immigration detention is “cruel” or comparable to concentration camps, a comparison that is historically ignorant and morally offensive. We explain why deportation is not punishment under Supreme Court precedent, why detention is often a choice when voluntary departure is refused, and how the Department of Homeland Security is now offering illegal immigrants financial assistance and airfare to return home. From border enforcement to national sovereignty, this conversation cuts through the grievance politics to argue a simple principle: a nation without borders is not a nation—and America’s first responsibility is to its citizens. 9:30 Plus, we cover the Top 3 Things You Need to Know. The Federal Government is shutting down again, at least partially. The Senate failed to pass the funding for the Department of Homeland Security this week after Democrats objected to continuing to fund ICE and immigration enforcement efforts. Inflation continued to drop this past month. That's according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Department of Transportation is ordering airlines to hire pilots based solely on merit. 12:30 Get Prodovite Plus from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 13:00 Rosie O’Donnell says she “fled” a scary America under Donald Trump—but we aren’t buying it. We dig into the celebrity meltdown narrative, arguing that O’Donnell didn’t escape authoritarianism—she escaped cultural relevance. We take aim at the idea that Trump voters are something to fear, mock the performative outrage of Hollywood elites, and point out the obvious: real exiles don’t keep U.S. passports, Hollywood access, dollar-denominated wealth, and residual checks. 16:00 We got a question in for our American Mamas Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burelson: What did you parents do that would get them canceled today? We dive into old-school parenting habits that once felt normal—but might trigger outrage now. From wooden spoons peeking out of purses and chain-smoking grandparents in the car, to paddling at school, drinking from the garden hose, roaming until the streetlights came on, and walking home alone with a key around your neck, the stories paint a picture of a very different America. The Mamas debate discipline, personal responsibility, and whether today’s hyper-sensitive culture has lost something important along the way. Equal parts funny and thought-provoking, this segment taps into parenting debates, generational differences, and the question many families are asking: did tough love work better than we’re willing to admit? If you'd like to ask our American Mamas a question, go to our website, AmericanGroundRadio.com/mamas and click on the Ask the Mamas button. 23:00 Photo ID for voting is suddenly back on the table—and this time, it might actually happen. Webreak down President Donald Trump’s threat to issue an executive order mandating voter ID in federal elections, as Congress inches closer to passing the SAVE Act. The big surprise? Senator Susan Collins is now a yes vote, signaling a major shift even in blue-state politics. We dig into why requiring state-issued photo ID to vote is being framed as “controversial,” despite IDs being required for everything from banking to voting on the U.S. Senate floor itself. And we address the claims that voter ID is racist, question lax ID policies in states like California, and argue this is only the first step toward restoring election integrity—state audits come next. With the 2026 midterms approaching, the message is clear: voter ID isn’t radical—it’s long overdue. 26:00 America’s birth-rate crisis meets peak absurdity in this jaw-dropping Valentine’s Day segment. As lawmakers and economists warn that falling population growth threatens the future of the republic, we react to a surreal new trend out of New York City: a bar hosting Valentine’s Eve “dates” for people in romantic relationships with AI-generated partners. Yes—tables for one human and one phone, courtesy of Eva AI. The conversation turns darkly comedic and brutally honest as we unpack survey data showing more than one in four adults say they’ve had a romantic relationship with artificial intelligence. This isn’t quirky tech optimism—it’s cultural rot. From porn-driven isolation to the death of courtship, the segment takes aim at a dating culture that rewards avoidance, validation, and zero personal growth. You can’t build families with a chatbot. You can’t raise future Americans with an algorithm. And you can’t save a country if men won’t shower, take a risk, and ask a real woman out. This is a blunt warning about masculinity, marriage, AI relationships, and why artificial partners are a dead end—for people and for the nation. 32:00 Get Performlyte from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 32:30 After Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl spotlight, a very different side of Puerto Rican culture is making national headlines. We react to a major legal shift in Puerto Rico, where the island’s Republican governor—an ally of Donald Trump—has signed a bill amending the criminal code to recognize an unborn child at any stage of gestation as a human being under criminal law. The change reshapes how homicide is defined, allowing the killing of a fetus during a violent crime against a pregnant woman to be prosecuted as the unlawful killing of a human being. 35:30 Plus, it's Fake News Friday! We're putting you to the test with our weekly game of headlines—are they real news, fake news, or really fake news? claims about voter ID and ICE popularity to Olympic scandals, celebrity outrage, and truly ridiculous media narratives, can you spot the fake news? Play along, keep score, and share your results with us on Facebook page: facebook.com/AmericanGroundRadio. 39:30 Don Lemon plead not guilty after being charged with conspiracy under the FACE Act for his alleged role in a coordinated disruption of a church in Minnesota. We dismantle Lemon’s claim that he was “just doing journalism,” arguing that planning, participating, and referring to activists as “we” crosses the line from reporting into outright political activism—raising serious questions about press ethics, religious freedom, and First Amendment rights during the Donald Trump era. Articles Partial government shutdown imminent as Congress leaves town January inflation cools to 2.4%, lowest since May Journalist Don Lemon pleads not guilty to civil rights charges in Minnesota church protest Follow us: americangroundradio.com Facebook: facebook.com / AmericanGroundRadio Instagram: instagram.com/americangroundradioSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dating may feel harder, but has it truly gotten harder in the last 10 years? Julie is breaking down her hypothesis that what we do know is that it sure has gotten a heck of a lot noisier! Between social media, AI, and well-meaning friends, she discusses how this has causes an influx of overthinking in dating instead of leading with connection. She talks about what we can do to reclaim our intuition and learn to trust yourself again. We're going to deep dive even further into this concept of self trust on a future episode, but hope this is the lightbulb moment that can help many of you today start to tune out the noise. Enjoy!

In this episode, we review "Dating With a Purpose," which is an IFB purity culture dating manual targeted at teens and young adults in the IFB and at Hyles-Anderson college. It was written by Jack Schaap, who later went to prison for sexually abusing a child who was a student at the high school where he was chaplain. We also discuss Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family's appearance in the Epstein files, and why abusers love purity culture so much.Support the show by going to Patreon.Com/LeavingEdenPodcast!Join our discord server!https://discord.gg/aneFkUJuJoin our subreddit!Reddit.com/r/EdenExodusBluesky:@leavingedenpodcast.bsky.social@hellyeahsadie.bsky.social@gavihacohen.bsky.socialTikTok:@LeavingEdenPodcast@SadieCarpenter1Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/leavingedenpodcast/https://www.instagram.com/sadiecarpentermusic/https://www.instagram.com/gavrielhacohen/Subscribe to Leaving Eden Podcast on YouTube!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ4q94gAnsoW2jME4SvVrrQJoin our Patreon for extended, uncensored, and ad-free versions of most of our episodes, as well as other patron perks and bonus content!https://www.patreon.com/LeavingEdenPodcastJoin our Facebook group to join in the discussion with other fans!https://www.facebook.com/groups/edenexodusJoin our subreddit! Send a textAfter observing the perils of the current dating culture, including the premature sexualization of children and sexual involvement of young people and the push toward cohabitation and “trying it out,” Hannah Miller's parents, Robert and Carlotta Jackson, delineated some general principles in their search for a way to help their children find a mate. Of course, the choice is left up to the couple when all is said and done, but parents, family, advisors and/or accountability partners, can help along the way with objectively examining the life of the other interested young lady or young man, especially if the person is unknown to the family. By embracing the process, Hannah's sister Rebecca and her husband Josh Shrom describe on this podcast how it looked for them as well as the joy and fun on the journey. Valentine's Day is either the horniest holiday of the year… or a corporate psyop designed to sell you a giant teddy bear. In this special, Mandii Rose helps me answer the only question that matters: is V-Day still sexy, or did we all get too tired? We get into what to do when you want the night to actually hit—gift ideas, toys, and the kind of simple moves that turn “date night” into “OMFG.”Then Mandii takes us behind the curtain: her mainstream work, her cam-world insanity, and the wildest stuff she's dealt with on fan platforms. She also teases what she's cooking up for Valentine's content, her new scene with Mick Blue, and yes—we go where Sex Party always goes: DP talk, group-scene curiosity, and why certain experiences rewired her brain in the best way possible. Is celebrating Valentine's Day a basic expectation, or optional? Jared and Matchmaker Maria unpack a petty or prudent situation where a woman uses an entire couples spa gift card on herself after her boyfriend refuses to acknowledge Valentine's Day at all. J & MM break down how attitude is everything in dating and why showing up authentically matters, especially for Gen Z. They also share what to do if you've been seeing someone for one day versus a few months for Valentine's Day. Then, a listener asks how to tell a guy she wants to wait to have sex, without killing attraction, right before their first Valentine's Day together. Learn more about your ad choices. Love in the time of AI? Some people seeking romance or friendship are turning to AI chatbots to fulfill those desires, but could they surpass traditional human relationships? Those who say they can argue that AI can offer empathy and safety, and it's a solution for those left out of traditional dating. Those saying they can't argue that intimacy is complicated and cannot be replicated in code. Now we debate: Could Dating an AI Be Better Than Dating a Human? Arguing Yes: Thao Ha, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the @HEART Lab at Arizona State University Arguing No: Justin Garcia, Executive Director & Senior Scientist at the Kinsey Institute; Chief Scientific Advisor to Match.com; Author of "The Intimate Animal" Nayeema Raza, Journalist and Host of "Smart Girl Dumb Questions", is the guest moderator. If you're stuck people pleasing, over explaining, apologizing too much, scanning everyone's mood, and saying yes fast then resenting it later, this episode breaks down what's really happening and why it feels so hard to stop. You'll learn how people pleasing often forms as a nervous system survival strategy, the fawn response, where being agreeable once meant safety, approval, or belonging. We talk through the root causes, conditional love, performance conditioning, fear of conflict, and why setting a boundary can trigger guilt, anxiety, and an intense urge to fix, rescue, or smooth things over. You'll also get practical tools to recover from people pleasing without turning cold or selfish, including regulation skills, grounding, breathing, and simple boundary language that's short, calm, and clear. The focus is rebuilding self trust, making your yes mean something again, and ending the cycle of obligation, burnout, and resentment in relationships. If you struggle with saying no to family, a partner, friends, or coworkers, and you want a clear framework for boundaries, emotional safety, and confident communication, this episode will give you what to listen for in yourself, and what to do next.Disclaimer: We are not professionals. So he decides to try a dating site and connects with a woman named Hannah. After months of conversation and growing closer, Hannah tells Josh about her cryptocurrency investments and encourages him to invest as well. Over time, he puts in more than $100,000 and watches his money grow. When he tries to withdraw money from his account, it is frozen and Hannah disappears. Panicked, Josh searches for help online and finds a company that claims to trace and recover stolen crypto funds. The tragedy only deepens when he turns to family for help paying the company's fees.

Ask frequent flyers what bothers them most about air travel and you might be surprised by the answer. It's not turbulence, cramped seats, or bad food — it's the other passengers. This episode begins by revealing which behaviors irritate fellow travelers the most and what people wish would stop happening at 35,000 feet. https://pro.morningconsult.com/analysis/airplane-etiquette-annoying-behaviors What brings two people together romantically has always been a mystery — and today, it's more complicated than ever. Dating apps offer endless options, yet many people struggle to find meaningful connection. What actually predicts long-term attraction? What matters less than we think? And what do science and history tell us about love, choice, and compatibility? Paul Eastwick joins me to explain how attraction really works. He's a professor of psychology at the University of California, Davis, director of the Attraction and Relationships Research Laboratory, and author of Bonded by Evolution: The New Science of Love and Connection (https://amzn.to/49RrGS0) Most people pursue goals with a clear payoff — something they hope and expect to achieve. But some people dedicate their lives to goals they know will never happen. Why would anyone do that? What sustains them? And what do these impossible pursuits reveal about meaning, purpose, and fulfillment? Journalist Mark Medley shares remarkable stories of people chasing futures they'll never live to see. He's author of Live to See the Day: Impossible Goals, Unimaginable Futures, and the Pursuit of Things That May Never Be (https://amzn.to/46fV95J). And finally, think about all the surfaces your phone touches — tables, counters, public spaces. Then think about where that phone goes when it rings – your face.
