This is a simple podcast that gives Chicago gun violence survivors a platform to speak about the struggle after being shot and the other obstacles that present us day-by-day. Our aim is to get our city's leaders to understand that just tightening gun laws is not enough. We need so much more help th…
I start off by quoting the recent Chicago shooting stats. This is really bad because Chicago has had more shootings this year than New York and Los Angeles combined! I thought—when I heard this—that the news anchor was comparing Chicago to the whole state of New York because the state of New York is much bigger than Chicago and Los Angeles. However, Chicago has had more shootings than the whole state of New York! This is unbelievable and we have to stop looking at the wrong things. I challenge our city's leaders by asking some really provocative questions and offer a "conspiracy theory" of my own.

This is the second in the series of Chicago Gun Violence Survivors Speak Out. In this episode, I talk about what should happen next after being shot. I speak about what else should be covered after being shot. I have a lot to talk about, so I would subscribe to this podcast. Thanks!

Welcome to the Chicago Gun Violence Survivors Speak Out. I am happy you are here and hope that you remember to visit often. I was a victim of Chicago gun violence, but now I'm a survivor. I just found out—24 years after the fact—that I have PTSD. Yes, it is related to my being shot and I just gained the courage to tell my story. I've never done a podcast before. I want to apologize for the dog barking in the background. Life is loud in the City and I do think that this extra noise adds character.
