Here's a question that keeps salespeople up at night: How do you ask for more compensation when you're getting competitive external job offers without sounding like you're issuing an ultimatum? That's the question posed by Brady from Arkansas. Brady's been getting legitimate job offers from recruiters, and he's wondering how to leverage these opportunities into better compensation at his current company without burning bridges or coming across as disloyal. If you've ever found yourself in this position, you know it's a delicate dance. You want to be paid what you're worth, but you also don't want to destroy the relationships and goodwill you've built. So how do you navigate this conversation? The Right Way to Have the Conversation If you're getting external job offers from legitimate companies with strong brands, the key is in how you frame the conversation with your boss. Here's the approach: "I really like working here, and I want to stay at this company. I love it. But I've got another company out there that's a good company. They're a great brand, they're well known, and they're making this job offer to me at a significantly higher level of compensation. It's hard for me to say no to that. I feel like I need to bring this to you before I make a decision because I like working here." Notice what you're NOT saying. You're not walking in with an ultimatum saying, "If you don't give me this, I'm leaving." Instead, you're saying, "I want to stay here. I like it here. I'm just in a situation where they're offering me enough that it's turning my head and I'm looking their way." This approach keeps the door open for a productive conversation about what might be possible without threatening your current employer or damaging your relationship. When Loyalty Actually Matters Now, before you go schedule that meeting with your boss, you need to ask yourself a hard question: Do you owe this company some loyalty? If you were down on your luck, lost a job, and they came along and gave you something that saved you, you probably owe them some loyalty for that. Not forever, but there's a little bit of honor in not just jumping to the next place immediately. You also need to think about your resume. If you've just got there and a year later you're jumping to another place, that's on your resume. And believe it or not, even in today's world, that still means something. I won't hire people who jump from job to job every year. I don't care how good they are because they're probably going to jump again. So think long term: Am I demonstrating to a future employer that I'm worth investing more money in? The answer is yes when you gave them three years of your life, performed at a really high level, and now you're going to leverage that to go level up elsewhere. Speaking Your Boss's Language Here's what most salespeople get wrong when asking for more money: They forget to speak the language their boss understands. If you walk into your sales leader's office and say, "I want to make more money," you know what they're going to tell you? "Go sell more." And they're right. If you've got a great compensation plan with no limit on how much commission you can make, the answer is simple: crank out more sales. So before you ask for more base salary, ask yourself: Do I have a limit on how much commission I can make? If the answer is no, then your first conversation should be about getting bigger opportunities. Try this approach: "I can sell. I'm hitting numbers, but I'm not making the money I want. What can you do to give me bigger accounts, bigger opportunities, bigger customers? Give me better leads. What can you do to get me in a situation where I can earn more?" This is speaking the boss's language. You're showing that you want to produce more, not just get paid more for the same work. If you get shut down in that situation, then you have another conversation. The Commission vs. Base Salary Play If you're a baller and you've proven you can sell, here's a move most salespeople never consider when negotiating compensation: Ask for a higher commission percentage instead of a higher base salary. I honestly don't care about base. I think a base matters when you're getting started, and it's nice to have, but I would much rather have a higher commission percentage than a higher base. Here's how you position it: "In the open market, I can take a similar job and make $400,000. I want to make the same thing here. Now there's two ways we could do this. One is that you can increase my base salary. Two is you give me a higher commission rate, and I think the commission rate should be this. I think I'm worth that." What you're basically saying is that your cost of sales is going to be variable. They only pay you if you sell it, so their carrying costs stay the same. In my company, the people who don't take a base salary make more than double in commission what people who do take a base salary bring home. There's a massive difference because the people saying "pay me more commission" are saying "I'm willing to put skin in the game in order to make more." Now, this doesn't work if you're at a massive company with a thousand salespeople and rigid HR policies. But if you work for a smaller organization where people can make decisions, have an honest conversation around this approach. You might even propose a tiered structure: "You can pay me your base commission on everything up to the quota you gave me. But once I cross that quota, I want my commission to roll up so that if I get over this number, the rate scales." That's a conversation most entrepreneurial leaders will entertain because it's putting your money where your mouth is. What Money Can't Buy Here's the thing most people miss when they're chasing the next big paycheck: There's always money out there you can chase. You have an obligation to yourself and your family to make as much as you possibly can in sales. But there's also the value of working in a place that values you. There's more than just the money. There's the freedom, the flexibility, and the opportunity to be part of something that gives you purpose. I had somebody come to me recently and ask this question, and I said, "This job that you're moving to that's going to pay you all this money, suddenly you're going to have someone who's micromanaging and telling you what to do every single day. In your current role, you're not making as much money, but you call the shots on your day every single day. Nobody even messes with you. Are you willing to sign up for that?" They said their wife told them the exact same thing. Maybe that's a sign that having the freedom and flexibility is more valuable than making a lot of money but being miserable because everything you do is being micromanaged. The Bottom Line When it's time to ask for more money, remember these principles: Bring the conversation to your boss before making a decision. Frame it as wanting to stay, not threatening to leave. Consider what you owe in loyalty. If they gave you a chance when you needed one, factor that into your decision. Speak your boss's language. Ask for bigger opportunities before asking for more base pay. Consider the commission play. If you're confident in your abilities, asking for higher commission rates can be more lucrative than base salary increases when looking at total compensation. Weigh the intangibles. Money isn't everything if you're trading freedom and fulfillment for a micromanaged existence. The best compensation conversations happen when you approach them with confidence, gratitude, and a clear understanding of your value. That's how you get paid what you're worth without burning bridges along the way. Want to learn more about leveraging your personal brand to create more career opportunities? In this bonus episode of the Rich Woman Reset series, Karen Yankovich explores the identity shift that transforms wealth from an idea into a lived experience. This episode is about more than mindset. It is about embodiment. If you have ever felt yourself shrinking, softening your edges, or downplaying your success to stay comfortable or likable, this conversation will resonate deeply. Karen shares why wealth is a nervous system experience and how your identity determines how much visibility, income, and opportunity you can receive. Wealth Begins with Identity Many women were taught to associate wealth with fear, judgment, or being "too much." Over time, these beliefs become embodied patterns. You cannot expand into greater wealth while holding a contracted identity. Karen explains how your nervous system must feel safe with visibility, power, and higher prices before wealth can truly land. This work is not about forcing confidence. It is about expanding your capacity to receive. The Three Identities of a Rich Woman In this episode, Karen introduces three core identities that every wealthy woman embodies. These qualities already live inside you. The work is waking them up. She Is Visible She allows herself to be seen. Visibility is not a performance. It is her natural state. She Is Valued She knows her worth and charges accordingly. Her boundaries are loving, clear, and firm. She Is Vocal She uses her voice and shares her perspective, even when it feels uncomfortable or disruptive. How Rich Women Move Through Daily Life This identity shift shows up in small, powerful ways every day. Rich women: Respond instead of reacting Say no without guilt Receive compliments without deflection State their prices without shrinking Speak from truth, not fear Lead with calm authority instead of urgency This energy is steady, grounded, and sovereign. A Guided Embodiment Moment Toward the end of the episode, Karen guides you through a brief visualization to help you step into this identity now. You are invited to imagine how you move, speak, set boundaries, and trust yourself as the rich woman you are becoming. Your next level is not something you chase. It is something you embody. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why wealth is a nervous system experience How identity impacts visibility and income The three identities of a rich woman How to stop shrinking and overexplaining What calm, grounded authority looks like How to embody wealth starting today Resources Mentioned In The Episode: Learn more about The Visibility Salon: https://visibilitysalon.com Catch the full Rich Woman Reset playlist: https://karenyankovich.com/richwomanreset Check out The Glow Up Audio Experience: https://www.KarenYankovich.com/glowup Help Us Spread The Word! Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I couldn't be more excited to present to all of you our biggest panel episode yet featuring the team from ‘Inside The Boys Club' - an exciting and important project and movement blossoming in the UK and beyond. We are blessed to have the whole team on-board today's episode: Let me introduce you all to - in no particular order: Dr. Naomi Murphy, former podcast guest Daniel, Rafael Viola, Joseph Sabian, and Toby TarquinIn a world where shadows of childhood trauma linger like unspoken storms, a revolutionary movement emerges from the ashes of pain: Introducing Inside the Boys' Club. Born from raw courage and unyielding vision, this is no ordinary initiative - it's a beacon of hope, a thunderclap against the epidemic of sexual abuse that has silenced boys and men for generations. Imagine five warriors - survivors from diverse backgrounds - uniting their voices in a symphony of resilience, amplified by visionary creators and experts. This is their story: a gripping tale of survival, solidarity, and transformation that demands your attention and ignites your spirit. It all ignited in 2025, sparked by a whirlwind collaboration that fate couldn't ignore. Andy Woodward, the trailblazing whistleblower who shattered the football world's illusions in 2016, had spent nine relentless years exposing the hidden horrors of abuse. "I ended up meeting Naomi and we hooked up together and we were talking about solutions for the future," he recalls. Enter Dr. Naomi Murphy, a clinical powerhouse and co-host of the @lockeduplivingpodcast podcast, whose mission is to unpack the harsh realities of institutional life and foster growth from trauma. What began as a simple idea - "Could we make it safer for men and boys to speak about sexual abuse - and be heard with dignity?" - evolved into striking portraits, deep bonds, and short films that capture raw humanity without sensationalism. This isn't just a project - it's a global epidemic's antidote. Boys comprise at least a third of sexual abuse victims, with over 150,000 potentially facing it in the next year alone. Yet men often wait two decades or more to disclose - burdened by shame, fear, and societal mandates like "grow a pair" or "big boys don't cry." Inside The Boys' Club shatters these chains, highlighting homelessness, addiction, suicide attempts, and relational wreckage as the hidden costs. "The list goes on and on," Raphael laments, but the group flips the script: "We're not alone anymore." Through portraits that imprint hope and videos that offer a "positive edge," they show survivors can emerge stronger, with "post-traumatic growth" - gaining insight, compassion, and empathy that fuel their fight. The mission? Raise awareness, foster healing, and build a movement without ceilings. "It's about being a beacon of hope for other men... Let's encourage men to talk," Joe urges. Beyond justice - often elusive amid cover-ups and sluggish systems - they champion speaking up for self-respect and healing. "This is an essential part of one's healing journey," Daniel asserts. In a society that once prioritized "women and children first", leaving men adrift, Inside The Boys' Club demands a platform. These men - smiling through the storm - prove adversity breeds unbreakable bonds and profound humanity. They're not victims; they're visionaries rewriting the narrative. Join them. Speak. Be believed. Pass it on. The silence ends here and the revolution is just beginning.CONNECT WITH INSIDE THE BOYS CLUB: Website: https://whatwashidden.org/Support the show
This episode is all about voice, visibility, and audacity. I'm pulling back the curtain on the Audacity to Speak Summit and introducing you to the energy, stories, and intention behind the speakers who are stepping into this space. These aren't just polished experts or surface-level conversations, these are real women with lived experience, wisdom, and messages that matter. Audacity to Speak was created because too many women: downplay their voice wait for permission silence their story or believe they need to be "more qualified" before being seen This summit exists to disrupt that. In this episode, I share: Why Audacity to Speak is more than an event, it's a movement What makes this year's speakers uniquely powerful The common thread connecting their stories, expertise, and courage Why representation, honesty, and real conversations matter now more than ever How speaking up, on a stage, in business, or in life creates momentum and impact Each speaker brings a different perspective, background, and message, but they all share one thing in common: they chose to stop shrinking and start showing up. Whether you're someone who wants to speak on a stage, lead more boldly in your business, advocate for yourself in your life, or simply feel less alone in your journey, this episode will remind you that your voice is not random. It's required. Audacity isn't about being loud. It's about being honest. And this lineup embodies exactly that. Ask yourself: Where am I holding back my voice? What story or message am I meant to share? What would change if I stopped waiting for permission? If this episode resonates, you'll want to experience the Audacity to Speak Summit—where these conversations go deeper and these voices take the stage. And if you know a woman who needs this reminder, share this episode with her. Your voice matters more than you think. This message invites us to pause at the end of the year and honestly reflect on what we are living for. In a culture obsessed with what's next, we often forget that the journey matters just as much as the destination. Why? because what we remember shapes what we repeat. Drawing from Joshua 4, we see that God called His people to stack stones as a memorial of His faithfulness, not just to mark a miracle, but to pass it on to the next generation. In the end, the question isn't if something will remain, but what. As the year closes, we're challenged to live with the end in mind, to remember where God has brought us from, and to build a life that leaves behind a story that continues to impact long after we're gone.

Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Read more about Project23 and partner with us as we teach every verse of the Bible on video. Our text today is Judges 18:30-31. And the people of Dan set up the carved image for themselves, and Jonathan the son of Gershom, son of Moses, and his sons were priests to the tribe of the Danites until the day of the captivity of the land. So they set up Micah's carved image that he made, as long as the house of God was at Shiloh. — Judges 18:30-31 The tribe of Dan ends their story with idols, not inheritance. They set up a fake priesthood, a false religion, and call it "faith." It looked spiritual—but it was hollow. Everything they built was founded on force, not faith; ritual, not repentance. What began as one man's compromise became a tribe's tradition—and a nation's decay. And that's exactly where we stand today. We've kept the symbols of faith but lost the substance. We sing about Jesus but live as if His Word no longer defines truth. We've traded repentance for relevance and holiness for acceptance. The signs are flashing, and time is running short. Our culture isn't collapsing because evil is stronger—it's collapsing because truth is weaker. The light has dimmed. The Church has grown quiet. We've learned to tolerate what we should confront and bless what we should repent of. But this is not the time to coast. It's time to come back. Not next year. Not after things "settle down." Now. Because a nation that forgets God doesn't lose Him overnight—it loses Him one compromise at a time. The tribe of Dan thought they secured their future, but they only secured their judgment. And if we keep drifting from the truth, we'll do the same. God is calling His people. It's time to return to the Lord while there's still time. ASK THIS: What signs of drift do you see in your own heart or church? How can you personally help call others back to truth? What step of repentance could you take today? DO THIS: Pray daily this week for revival—in your heart, home, and church. Speak truth where others have grown silent. PRAY THIS: Lord, wake us up. Stir Your people to repent, return, and rebuild on truth. Let revival start in me—and spread before it's too late. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Revive Us Again."

Thefirst of the five sins Paul tells us to put off is lying. We must always beaware of the danger of lying. Lying is rooted in the deceitful nature of Satanhimself. He uses lies to lead us astray, to make us believe that the wrong pathis the right path. Jesus warned us that “broad is the way that leads todestruction, and many go in by it.” My friend, the devil is a liar. Jesussaid in John 8:44 that Satan is a liar and the father of lies. He also said inJohn 10 that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy—and the primary way thedevil does this is through lies. He lies by placing deceptive thoughts into ourminds. I am convinced that the fiery darts of the devil mentioned in Ephesians6 are his lies. That is why we are told to take up the shield of faith, whichof course, is the Word of God that we have in our hearts and can quote back to thedevil's lies like Jesus did in Matthew 4 when He was tempted. Inthe end times, 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12, tells us that the Antichrist will comewith lying wonders, deceiving those who reject the truth because they takepleasure in unrighteousness. They will believe the lie. My friend, we arealready seeing how lies work all around us—how they deceive people and leadthem into destructive paths. As Jesus said in John 10:10, “the thief (thedevil) has come to steal, to kill and to destroy”. That is why we see suchviolence, chaos, and brokenness in our world today. People are believing thelie when what they desperately need is the truth. Thisis it is so important to Speak the Truth! It is no accident that Paul lists lying first. Lyingdestroys. Truth builds up. If we want to live a life that honors God, we mustlearn how to build truth into our lives. Weonly have a few days left before we begin a new year. This is often the timewhen people make New Year's resolutions. But instead of resolutions, I want toencourage you to make a commitment—a complete surrender to the will of God tobe the person He wants you to be. How do you do that? We all desperately dailyneed God's grace to do what we ought to do. The best way I know receive God'sgrace is to put yourself in the path of God's grace by getting into God's Word andHis Truth that sets us free on a daily basis. The truth is Jesus. The Truth isfound in His Word. Living in the Truth means abiding in Christ (John 15). Thelie of the devil is that you don't have time for God's Word—that you are toobusy, that other things are more urgent. My friend, that is the tyranny of theurgent, where immediate demands crowd out the most important thing: time alonewith the Lord in His Word and prayer. And we must discipline ourselves spirituallyto do that! Years ago, by the grace of God, I made a determination todiscipline myself for godliness, as Paul instructed Timothy (1 Timothy 4:7-9).The only way to do that is to commit to a daily quiet time with the Lord. Thedevil will whisper his lies into your ears and mind: “You don't need to pray. Youdon't need to read through the Bible. You don't need every Word of God.” Theseare his lies! That is why I do everything I can through this Pastor's Chat andthrough my website to encourage believers to stay in the Word. I post dailydevotionals such as Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest, ExperiencingGod by Henry Blackaby, and Dr. Elmer Towns' 365 Ways to Know God. I personally alsoread other devotionals by Andrew Murray and others. These help me focus eachday on God's truth instead of Satan's lies. Forover 50 years now I have read five Psalms a day, and I post them on my websiteso you can read or listen along if you wish. We also provide Bible readingschedules—two different plans—to help you stay disciplined in God's Word. Todaywill you make the decision by God's grace to say: “I am not going to try. I amgoing to do this.” My friend, if you will do this, you will find that next yearwill be a completely different year.

As Christmas approaches, we are turning our focus to love this final week of Advent. In this episode, Karen and Emily unpack what it looks like to love like Jesus in everyday moments: choosing presence, serving quietly, pausing before reacting, and remembering that we love others because Christ first loved us. If the holidays have stretched your patience thin, we hope this conversation will help you refocus your heart on what truly matters! Episode Recap:We're talking about love this week (6:05)How do we respond to God's love practically? (7:55)Loving others looks like not being selfish (8:44)Take an interest in others this Christmas (12:34)Choose presence over perfection (15:54)Speak life with your words (16:31)Pause before you react (18:42)Enjoy simple moments (20:20)Serve quietly (21:15)Focus on gratitude (22:42)Scripture: Philippians 2:1-5 (NIV)“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.”Discussion Questions: Why do you think loving others feels harder during the holidays? In what ways do you catch yourself trying to impress others rather than love them?Which part of Philippians 2:1–5 challenges you the most right now? What does “choosing presence over perfection” look like in your home? What is one thing you can do this week to respond with love instead of frustration?Resources:Please give today to help us reach more moms with Wire Talk in 2026!

HT2480 - A Language I Do Not Speak One of the objectives of art is to communicate with others. That communication does rely, however, on a common language and vocabulary. I was thinking about this last night as I attended my first ever ballet performance — the classic holiday fare, The Nutcracker. I felt badly that this holiday classic connects so deeply with so many and simply bounced off me as I was lost in total incomprehension. I appreciated it the athleticism of the dancers, but the artistic content escaped me. Clearly, this is the result of my lack of ability to understand the language and vocabulary of ballet, a shortcoming for which I accept total responsibility. I feel this way about some photographers, too. Show your appreciation for our free weekly Podcast and our free daily Here's a Thought… with a donation Thanks!
What happens when the dream life you've spent decades building feels more like a nightmare you can't wake up from?Today's conversation is for the person who looks successful on the outside... but feels quietly disconnected on the inside. If you've ever wondered:Why do I feel empty when everything looks “right”?Why am I exhausted by a life I'm supposed to be proud of?Why does walking away feel both terrifying and necessary? This episode will hit close to home. What This Episode Is Really AboutIn this deeply honest conversation, I sit down with Matthew Blades—a former nationally syndicated radio host who spent 28 years living the dream so many people chase. The career. The money. The recognition. The life everyone else wanted. And yet… it nearly cost him everything. This is the story of what happens when success stops being enough, when your body forces you to listen, and when the bravest move forward is the one that looks like quitting from the outside. But make no mistake—this isn't a story about giving up.It's a story about waking up.Inside This Conversation, We Explore:What it feels like to succeed publicly while quietly falling apartThe moment your body starts screaming what your mind has been ignoringWhy panic attacks, burnout, and chronic stress are often messages—not malfunctionsThe difference between building a life and living oneWhat it really means to “blow up what you built” without destroying yourselfHow generational patterns, unhealed trauma, and outdated beliefs quietly shape our decisionsWhy the hardest conversations are often the most freeing onesHow to walk away from an identity you've worn for decades—and rebuild from truthIf You're Listening Right Now…This episode isn't asking you to quit your job. It's asking you to listen to yourself. To notice the quiet signals you've been explaining away.To question whether the life you're maintaining is still the life you want.To consider that walking away doesn't mean you failed—it may mean you finally chose yourself. You don't need to have all the answers. You just need the courage to ask the right questions. One Final ThoughtIf this conversation stirred something in you... Don't rush to quiet it. That discomfort might be clarity knocking. And sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is stop pretending everything is fine.Hey, it's Kevin!I hope you enjoyed today's episode! In one ICU room, patients repeatedly report seeing the same silent man standing in the same corner—often just before sudden clarity, recovery, or death. Nurses notice the pattern. Doctors document an unusual concentration of terminal lucidity. The room keeps being used. In this episode of The Box of Oddities, Kat and Jethro explore a real medical mystery involving repeating end-of-life visions tied to a single hospital room, and why science struggles to explain why place—not patient—seems to matter. Then, we examine ancient Christmas folklore warning that animals speak at midnight—and that overhearing them reveals forbidden knowledge, often about death. From hospital wards to medieval superstition, this episode asks: what if clarity at the end comes after something leaves? Listener discretion advised. Learn more about your ad choices. Most people think communication is about what you say. It's not. It's about what happens in the listener's brain before you finish your sentence. This episode breaks down the neuroscience of communication and why charisma is overrated. Real influence comes from how the brain processes sound, novelty, and behavior in real time. You'll learn the communication frameworks used by top performers, executives, and elite negotiators including vocal entrainment, micro-behavior mirroring, attention psychology, dopamine triggers, storytelling science, and credibility language patterns. We cover how to speak in short, high-impact bursts, use questions to increase engagement, and control silence in high-stakes conversations. These are practical tools pulled from boardrooms, negotiations, and live debates. If you want to communicate with confidence, influence faster, and be taken seriously in business, leadership, sales, and negotiations, this episode will change how you speak. Communication isn't a soft skill. It's applied neuroscience. Protect what you own. Next makes it fast, simple, and painless.
