In the first episode of The IcePod, season 2, we talk to Lasse Rabenstein and Panagiotis Kountouris. They run the start-up Drift+Noise Polar Services, which could potentially become the ‘one-stop solution for ice information'. "If I were the captain of a fishing vessel sailing north of Svalbard..." – In this episode, Lasse and Panos tell us about their start-up company, which primarily aims to support shipping activities in polar regions fjnd a safe path through the ice. To that end, they are developing products such as an app that integrates various information, such as satellite data and ice-drift forecasts, to provide users with an easy-to-use solution, "so that the data speaks to you", Panos says. While a forecast is always subject to uncertainty, users need a truly accurate forecast; for them "the perfect product is a perfect forecast", he adds. However, "on a ship in the Arctic, you can still feel like you're back in the 1990s", says Lasse – low bandwidth is one of the issues Drift+Noise is trying to solve with its service. As an intermediate provider that passes information from data providers to end users, there is a need to take care of customers – communication and user feedback are key to further improving the company's products. "And… it's really important to educate people by showing them what the innovations are", the company partners add. "Especially the new generations of captains and ice pilots will appreciate getting any information they need to run their operations." Here's the playlist from Lasse: - Der Traum ist aus - Ton Steine Scherben - Child in Time - Deep Purple - Alles muss man selber machen lassen - Deichkind - Nordisch by Nature - Fettes Brot - Verdächtig - Systemabsturz - Feed Your Head - Kalkbrenner The IcePod is produced by the International Coordination Office of the Polar Prediction Project, a project initiated by the World Meteorological Organization to improve weather and sea ice forecasting in the polar regions. For thirty long years, the African American woman worked faithfully for a large global ministry. Yet when she sought to talk with co-workers about racial injustice, she was met with silence. Finally, however, in the spring of 2020—as open discussions about racism expanded around the world—her ministry friends “started having some open dialogue.” With mixed feelings and pain, she was grateful discussions began, but wondered why it took her colleagues so long to speak up. Silence can be a virtue in some situations. As King Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens . . . a time to be silent and a time to speak” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7). Silence in the face of bigotry and injustice, however, only enables harm and hurt. Lutheran pastor Martin Niemoeller, jailed in Nazi Germany, confessed that in a poem he penned after the war. “First they came for the Communists,” he wrote, “but I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.” He added, “then they came for” the Jews, the Catholics, and others, “but I didn’t speak up.” Then finally “they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up.” It takes courage—and love—to speak up against racism and injustice. Seeking God’s help, however, we recognize the time to speak is now.

The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Luke 10:1–2Saint Luke, whom we honor today, was a true evangelist. As an evangelist, he followed the inspiration from our Lord and was used to bring God's saving message to the ends of the earth. And there is little doubt that his ministry will continue to have a transforming effect on the lives of many until the end of the world. Tradition states that Saint Luke became a martyr, being hanged on an olive tree. He is identified in the New Testament as a physician and as a disciple of Saint Paul. Both the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles are attributed to him.Saint Luke is often spoken of as an evangelist to the gentiles. His Gospel was written in such a way that it didn't presume a full understanding of the Jewish faith and customs. Therefore, it is believed to have been primarily written for those who are not of Jewish origin. Thus, the life and mission of Saint Luke must remind us that the Gospel needs to be shared with all people, especially with those who do not have a deep and sustaining relationship with God.In today's Gospel from Saint Luke, we read that Jesus sent seventy-two disciples “to every town and place he intended to visit.” Only Luke mentions the larger scale sending of seventy-two disciples. The other Gospels only mention the sending of the Twelve. Though many of these seventy-two disciples would have gone to Jewish territory, some would have unquestionably gone to non-Jewish territory. The mission of these seventy-two was to prepare everyone they encountered for the preaching of Jesus and for the establishment of the Kingdom of God.As we honor Saint Luke today and read this passage from his Gospel, we are reminded that we are all sent by our Lord. We are sent to those who share our faith, such as family, friends and fellow parishioners. We are sent to love them and do all we can to help deepen their faith and love of God. But we are also called to share the Gospel with those who do not yet know Jesus as their Savior. There are so many people we encounter every day who have never truly met our Lord. Are there people in your life that God is calling you to reach out to? Who do you know that God may be calling you to share the Gospel with?Reflect, today, upon the fact that the Gospel is meant for everyone. Speak to our Lord and tell Him that you are ready and willing to be used by Him to bring His saving message to others. As you do so, wait on the Lord, listen to His inspiration, and respond when He calls. If someone comes to mind whom you sense God is calling you to evangelize, begin to pray for that person. Pray for them every day and be attentive to any inspiration God gives you to share His love and saving message with them. Do not be afraid to be an evangelist like Saint Luke. Doing so might make an eternal difference in someone's life.My saving Lord, You sent Your disciples on a mission to share Your saving message with all. Today I especially thank You for the life and ministry of Saint Luke. Please use me, dear Lord, to imitate his wonderful example and to share Your glorious life with others. Please lead me and inspire me to especially reach out to those whom You have put into my life. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2021 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

This program is Real Israel Talk Radio, Episode 93 on Biblical Restitution to Reconcile Relational Conflicts. Welcome to today's show which is a special program to deal with biblical restitution. Today's program presentation is by my wife, Suzanne. Next week, I will finish my teaching series on defining biblical love from 1 Corinthians 13. In addressing broken and strained relational conflicts, we often hear a lot about the idea of forgiving each other for all kinds of wrongs committed in different situations. The one thing that I rarely hear about is the final step that is supposed to happen after forgiveness. The last step is that of the payment of restitution. In the biblical narratives, many examples are relevant to our study. In the New Covenant, consider the dialogue between Yeshua and Zacchaeus in Luke 19:8-10: Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Master, “Look, Sir, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold." And Yeshua said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” And there is this from Bamidbar (Numbers) 5:5-7: Then Yehovah spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel: ‘When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit in unfaithfulness against the Lord, and that person is guilty, then he shall confess the sin which he has committed. He shall make restitution for his trespass in full, plus one-fifth of it, and give it to the one he has wronged." Biblically, it is one's final act towards healing a broken and strained relational conflict. Person 1: Admit a wrong with confession (Step 1) Person 1: A change of heart and actions with repentance (Step 2) Person 2: A response to the confession and repentance with forgiveness (Step 3) Person 1: A payment for damages with fair restitution (Step 4) Person 1 & 2: The goal is achieved towards reconciliation between both parties (Step 5) The first three steps are generally understood and applied by people who are seeking to heal relational conflicts. Step four remains elusive and seems to get lost in the healing process. It is this subject that Suzanne is going to address because it is something that has practical applications for all of us in everyday life. Join us today for Real Israel Talk Radio Episode 93 and our study in Exodus chapter 22 and other biblical lessons about restitution as payment for healing relational conflicts, not as a purchase price to gain forgiveness.
A few years ago, you never would have heard guys like Charlie Kirk or Matt Walsh call out the anti-white agenda of the left. In the wake of the COVID hoax, however, it has become commonplace for people who were once total milquetoast cucks to eschew the "muh bigotry of low expectation" narrative in which they previously couched their opposition to the left's various iterations of anti-white Marxism. Perhaps the shocking contrast between the government's treatment of the domestic white citizenry and that of uninvited new arrivals in the midst of an alleged pAnDeMiC is enough to scare any sleeping ruralite awake... We had better hope so. This is EPISODE 776 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!

Hi, everybody! I am Georgiana, your English teacher and founder of SpeakEnglishPodcast.com. My mission is to help you speak English fluently. Today I'm going to talk about abandoned towns, where no one lives anymore for one reason or another. With a mini-story, we will meet John, a man who, tired of his lifestyle, makes a radical decision. Very good. Thank you for listening once again. We have reached 22 million downloads of this podcast; thank you very much for following me! If you want to help me, please share and recommend my website SpeakEnglishPodcast.com by mentioning my podcast. Thank you very much in advance. Okay, let's get to today's topic. In every country in the world, there are villages where no one lives. I find this phenomenon fascinating. There are several words you can use to describe such a town. They all mean the same thing: Abandoned: This means that those who lived in that area have left. Therefore, people abandoned the place at some point in the past. Uninhabited: This word implies that it was previously inhabited. The inhabitants inhabit a place. If those people leave and don't live there anymore, it becomes uninhabited. Ghost. A ghost town is simply a town without inhabitants, without anyone living there. This word sometimes gives a sinister air to the place. All kinds of legends can arise in certain abandoned places. Some people's imaginations can be very vivid. Deserted merely means that there is no one there. For example: “The village was deserted, there was absolutely no one.” Now, let's use a little imagination. Imagine that you decide to move to a deserted town. Moving means going to live permanently in a new place. So, you would be the only inhabitant. You could put a sign with the name of the village and the number of inhabitants: one. There are many advantages. For example, if you have a car, you can park almost anywhere. No more going around and around the streets to find a parking space. You don't have to respect speed limits or traffic lights, which don't work, or don't exist because there is no police. As for the neighbours…no more hassles, no more noises, no more arguments. You can just relax because no one is going to bother you. Since you are alone in town, you can run for mayor. The result would be obvious. Only you would vote, and you would win with 100% of the votes. Unbelievable! Now you could say, But what about the supplies? The food? Well, you can order on Amazon, right? I'm sure they won't get the wrong house. There's just one small problem. A place like this can be terrifying. Being all alone in a town and hearing a strange noise. I don't know; maybe it's not such a good idea. But in reality, multiple causes explain why certain towns are abandoned. Here are a few: – Epidemics. Certain towns suffered devastating epidemics such as smallpox, typhus, or cholera that reduced the population. – Decline of mining. The mines' work attracted many people, and many houses were built, forming towns near the mine. When the mine was no longer profitable, people left the village. – Industrial revolution. Many peasants engaged in agriculture left their hard work to go to the factories to get hard but perhaps safer work. Many villages are not abandoned, but every year they lose inhabitants. There are several initiatives to stop this depopulation. Some towns even offer free housing and work. There are also subsidies for companies and entrepreneurs to set up their business there. The truth is that with the Internet, perhaps some of these towns can be saved because it is feasible to run a business with a computer. Get the transcript at: SpeakEnglishPodcast.com/podcast

What type of legacy do you hope to leave? Will the actions you take today help to preserve freedom for the next generation? We all have a limited lifespan. What kind of impact do you hope to have on your family, employees, or others? We can use our time to grow in our relationship to God, to serve others, and to boldly stand up for the principles of truth, justice and liberty – or we can use our time to serve temporal gods of money, pleasure, or convenience. What will you choose? In this episode, dedicated to Linda's parents, she shares examples of legacy leadership in business and at home, and encourages listeners to live boldly, with eternity in mind. True prosperity does not come from monetary gain. The true path to prosperity begins in the heart. You can create a legacy of leadership, love, and truth. Be bold. Don't let cancel culture or naysayers intimidate you into silence. Speak up for the values that made this nation great and for the policies that have provided freedom for millions of people to flourish. When we do that, we can leave a positive generational legacy that will light the path to true freedom for the next generation. © Copyright 2021, Prosperity 101, LLC -------------------------------- For information and resources visit: https://prosperity101.com Or click here to order a copy of Prosperity 101 – Job Security Through Business Prosperity by Linda J. Janet Yellen knows you're paying too much for groceries and other consumer goods, but don't worry. She assures us that price inflation will only last for as long as the plandemic does. Prices will settle back down again once we go back to normal. Oh wait... The New Normal is that we're never going back to normal. That's what they keep telling us, right? And given that the scamdemic is going to last as long as the government can get away with imposing vaccine mandates and lockdowns, it's probably safe to say that inflation is here to stay -- and it's going to get a lot worse. That might explain why the government is waging a dual-war on cash and crypto-currency while it weighs the imposition of a so-called "digital dollar" -- not that most dollars aren't already digital -- which is really just PR spin for "cash ban." I've got the latest! This is EPISODE 775 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!

Becoming a mother changes everything about us. Literally: the very structure of our brain changes during pregnancy, along with our eyeglass description and our shoe size. That most of us become more hypervigilant and more anxious isn't a personal failing– it's a biological imperative. But while the ways motherhood has changed us may be very natural, that doesn't mean those transitions were always easy. In this episode we discuss how motherhood has changed us, how it's also made us more aware of who we always were, and how giving ourselves grace about those changes has been what has always gotten us through.
