Todays episode features John Brendan Guinan, a DC Local who filtered the chaos of his father’s death through the medium of abstract painting and emerged on the other side as a career artist. His debut, the Art of Mourning, opened as a solo show at Governors Island NYC. A documentary about John’s art, created by the Oscar Award-Winning Fine-Films company, is set to release on March 20th, 2018 with a debut screening at Washington DC’s Dupont Underground. The event will include an exhibition of John’s work, a Q&A with the artist and the documentarians, Sean and Andrea Nix Fine, as well as music by local Reggae artists, CultchaSound.
