I also share my strong dislike of when people say “I am a perfectionist” and what it really means when they are saying this. I heard a quote and I share it in today’s episode. The quote forever changed the way I felt about trying new things and stopped me from worrying about being 100% ready. I hope you enjoy!

“Life is a journey and not a destination.” That quote sums this concept up quite nicely. I always thought that was just a nice quote put up on an office wall. I didn’t fully understand the quote until, I started to reach some of those big milestones in life. Once reached, you realized that they only give you temporary happiness. Have you ever found yourself thinking I’ll be happy when ____________. If so, this episode is for you.
Today’s episode was recorded live on the road. It’s business travel time! One of the things I LOVE about business travel is getting out, exploring new parts of the World, meeting new people and learning. However, for as amazing as business travel is, I admit that I can find myself getting stretched and pushed out of my fairly large comfort zone. This is both great and overwhelming. Why overwhelming? It's overwhelming because of the shear number of; brilliant guest speakers, savvy clients and close proximity to so many seasoned professionals well into the "harvest stage" of their careers. This is great because they really up my game, however, it’s often overwhelming because I start the compare and despair game. This never ends well and it always leads to fearful thoughts. Last night I caught myself in this self defeating thought pattern and mentally called myself out. I was able to shift myself with a technique that I call “it’s not about you.” Enjoy
In this episode i explore one of my favourite fear busting techniques called “What’s The Worst That Can Happen?” This technique has been a game changer and helped me step out of fear and into courage countless times. I hope you enjoy
We just experienced a terrible tragedy here in Canada. A bus carrying a team of young junior hockey players was struck by a semi truck. The bus was carrying 29 individuals including the Humboldt Broncs players, the coaches and the bus driver. Among those 29 individuals , 15 have passed away. I along with the rest of the nation mourn the loss of these young men and my thoughts and prayers go out to the other players, family, friends, girlfriends/wives/partners , rescue workers and the communities that will mourn the loss of these cherished individuals. I wanted to take a moment and record this podcast to pay my respects, express my condolences and give thanks for this most precious gift called life.
