Welcome to the Full Semester Podcast. The Full semester podcast is a series that explores a single topic in roughly the same depth as a full semester college course. This semester we'll be exploring the topic of Evolution. There are three types of episodes: 1) Standard Lecture episodes, these are designed to be listened to in sequence, as they build upon the material from the previous week 2) Article discussions, these are stand-alone episodes that discuss a particular scientific article, these will sometimes be referenced in the main lecture series 3) Multi-voice podcast or random topic within evolution, completely stand alone. I hope you'll join me to learn a little bit about this incredibly impactful subject, and I hope that you'll learn something that changes your life.

This is the second episode in our two part series on transcription and translation, that is, how cells produce the proteins they use. Last time we talked about transcription, so we’ve already covered how we use cellular machinery to create edited mRNA transcripts. Today we’re going to be talking about what the cell does with those transcripts once it’s got them, how it goes from mRNA to protein. So let’s talk about translation on the Full Semester Biology Episode 7: From genes to protein Part 2.
