This five-part series aims to share the lived stories of college students who are participants of TRiO. In the series we will share our personal stories as we have or are navigating higher education.
I am joined by Viviana Favela, Alejandro Hernandez and Amanda Garcia on episode four. On the episode, we dive deep into the thoughts and feelings first-generation students experience when they ask themselves, "am I good enough"? All three guests shared their personal stories on what it is like to navigate a university, while at times, feeling as though they do not belong.
I am joined by Angelica Gomez and Miranda Quinn, both who have taken an alternative path while on their educational journey. Angelica is a Community Psychology major while Miranda is a DePaul double demon and TRiO staff member. On this episode, we dive into the challenges and barriers faced by "non-traditional" students.
I am joined by Natalie Perez, a sophomore majoring in International Studies and a minor in Public Law/Political Thought. In this episode, we explore the family expectations Natalie has experiences as a first-generation student; living a double life, learning to set boundaries and having open communication.
I am joined my Arianna Ferniza, a sophmore studying Public Relations & Advertising. In this episode, we touch on how Arianna has developed her network and how she first began finding her person who will support her during her college experience.
