Everything and anything I'm interested in and want to talk about.
I went on a spoooky tour of the Rave today and was inspired to do a little episode about it! I talk about the history of the building, some creepy stories, and reminisce about some memorable nights for me there in middle & high school.
I'm spending some time educating myself on historical events I should have learned in school growing up, but didn't. This episode is about Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, why and how it grew into the Black Mecca it was, and what happened during the massacre of this community and why. Let me know your thoughts!YOUTUBE VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-ItsPBTFO0ARTICLES:https://www.truehealth4ever.com/5-reasons-black-wall-street-successful/https://www.ebony.com/black-history/destruction-of-black-wall-street/#axzz4di10STZGhttps://atlantablackstar.com/2014/12/02/6-interesting-things-you-didnt-know-about-black-wall-street/6/https://daily.jstor.org/the-devastation-of-black-wall-street/https://www.ebony.com/black-history/destruction-of-black-wall-street/#axzz4di10STZGhttps://www.zinnedproject.org/if-we-knew-our-history/burning-tulsa-the-legacy-of-black-dispossession/https://www.history.com/news/black-wall-street-tulsa-race-massacre
Part 2 of the pop punk deep dive, where I cover some of the issues within the pop punk scene-- heavy topics like misogyny, sexual abuse, mental health, and suicide. see 3 articles I mention and would recommend reading!https://thebrag.com/pop-punk-internalised-misogyny-brand-new/https://www.whiteboardjournal.com/column/how-pop-punk-contributes-to-raise-the-awareness-about-mental-health-issues/https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/rgp7wb/how-mainstream-emo-made-us-talk-about-mental-health
I love pop punk music! so let's talk about it! This episode I explain the subgenres within the overarching term, and reminisce a bit. Also talk too much about Blink-182.
This episode I talk about relationships! The history of monogamy, wedding traditions, divorce, sex, poly & open relationships and my thoughts on it all. To sum it all up, I would love for our society to be more comfortable exploring relationships and what works for them instead of abiding by the current norms we have in place. Let me know your thoughts!
this episode I talk about the Pink Tax and how absurd it is that women have to spend so much more money getting basic products that are often the same as mens. I also talk a lot about waxing and why I love it even though its so expensive. What's your relationship like with your body hair?
I took a class on the opioid epidemic in America and learned a shit ton! I manage to condense it all into about 53 minutes and touch on things like the history of epidemics in our country, why we're in one now, how race plays a factor, how addiction works, who it's more likely to affect, how overdoses work, and how we can work to decrease this issue! It's a lot of information and I hope you learn something. It's really hard to talk for this long.. my jaw hurts. All the online courses I mentioned can be found here: https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/here-are-380-ivy-league-courses-you-can-take-online-right-now-for-free-9b3ffcbd7b8c/?fbclid=IwAR0oX2uT2q9OM-aHKJMiUUMMeYHU06hPvXyj3gjDQ4tv6jMwsXlFIFfO03c
Talkin about my favorite reality TV show Love is Blind!! I talk about these questions: Is love blind? Would you rather marry Jessica or Amber? Do you feel worse for Carlton or Diamond? Are you applying for Season 2? And also some FMKs that were easier than I thought for the majority of you to answer haha. Thanks for listening!
This episode includes some statistics about waste + ways that I've been trying to be more environmentally conscious in my day to day life. Link to article: https://www.rubiconglobal.com/blog/trash-reason-statistics-facts/
A little introduction to this podcast: why I made it, what it will entail, and what I hope to get out of it. So excited for what's to come!
