On October 16, 2009, local hunters in Latimer County, Oklahoma, stumbled upon a locked, abandoned pickup truck. Inside was a severely malnourished family dog, personal IDs, cell phones, and an untouched jackpot of $32,000 cash stuffed right under the driver's seat. The owners - Bobby, Sherilynn, and 6-year-old Madyson Jamison - were nowhere to be found. --For early, ad free episodes and monthly exclusive bonus content, join our Patreon! The Kansas Jayhawks get exactly the kind of break it takes to have a magical season as Oklahoma wins at Georgia Tech. Tech was the top team left in the tourney and would have hosted KU with a win. Instead, Tech is toast and OU is coming to Lawrence. This thing just got real! We got a sneak preview of the new Morton Amphitheater Monday night in Riverside and you're going to love this place. KC needed it, we deserve it and our quality of life just got a little bit better. You almost feel like it's too nice for an outdoor venue! Multiple reports indicate President Trump had a very heated phone call with Israel's Bibi Netanyahu and it was pretty ugly. We discuss what it could all mean. The Kansas Governor's race got wild Monday, just before the official filing deadline. A dude with too much time on his hands checked out all 32 NFL team websites and provides a list of teams that don't celebrate, mention or recognize pride month. We have a crazy new poll for GOP presidential nominee in 2028, you have to hear how Vance v Rubio is shaping up. The Royals are undefeated in June! Yes, the team got a nice win but we have some player rankings for you that explains exactly why the Royals are so bad. The Rams make a big trade, a Super Bowl quarterback is retiring and become an announcer and we've got the first set of confirmed celebrities for the Travis and Taylor wedding.
Ben Rector grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a place he says has its own brand of Southern. He first picked up guitar after watching counselors play at summer camp, but it was a praise and worship class in high school, led by a teacher who encouraged students to really run with their talent, that set him on his path. After studying at the University of Arkansas, Ben built a career on his own terms, going from playing college shows to selling out amphitheaters and releasing chart-topping albums like Brand New, Magic and The Joy of Music. His songs often celebrate what he calls “the other 99,” finding beauty in everyday life. On today's episode, Sid talks to Ben about his hometown of Tulsa, life in Nashville, his family, and what it's been like to play with a symphony. In this episode of Magic in the Room, Chris Province, Hannah Bratterud, and Luke Freeman reflect on six years of conversations and explore a foundational leadership question: why leadership is ultimately an inside game. Drawing on personal growth, facilitation experiences, and organizational leadership lessons, they argue that effective leadership cannot be reduced to frameworks, checklists, or techniques alone, but instead depends on the ongoing work of self-awareness, discernment, courage, and wisdom. They explore the relationship between courage and conviction, the importance of responding rather than reacting, and the role of personal development in creating positive impact for teams, organizations, and communities. The episode presents leadership as a lifelong practice of leading oneself first, emphasizing that meaningful change begins not with external systems, but with the internal work of becoming more intentional, hopeful, and aligned with one's values. Seattle's luxury real estate market just sent a flashing warning signal: high-end listings jumped 84% — a number that doesn't happen in a healthy city. This isn't a housing boom. It's an exit. The pattern is identical to what played out in San Francisco, Portland, and every other city where progressive governance chased out the productive class. High earners don't announce their departure — they list their homes. When luxury inventory spikes this hard, the people who have options are exercising them.Seattle's city leadership has spent years treating wealth as a problem to be taxed rather than an asset to be retained. The Voice Of GO(r)D podcast is delighted to finally bring you a discussion with Mr Cole Stevens of Stevens Trucking out of El Reno, Oklahoma. The son of a trucking family, Cole, like myself, is looking around at the state of the industry today and has decided to take action, which now includes running for a seat in the Oklahoma State House.A member of American Truckers United, Cole has been putting in some very hard yards in advocating for reforms to CDL issue and for putting an end to the insourced labor scams that have made our interstates so much more dangerous in recent years. Between many trips to DC in helping organize Dalilah's Law, and working locally in Oklahoma with his own state government to pass SB20, Cole has been relentless in his pursuit of a safe and profitable future for the American trucking industry and its drivers, and shares with my listeners and I some details of the latest battle.Cole and I recorded this back in March in anticipation of my recent appearance on Tucker Carlson, where I gave Tucker the breaking news about a lawsuit Stevens Trucking, along with another company in Oklahoma, have launched against some of the same bad actors at play in the recent Montgomery v Caribe SCOTUS decision. Now that Tucker has finally released that episode, I can let rip with this one.Cole breaks down some of this lawsuit for us, the claims seeking redress, and what has caused such a great rift in the industry between brokerages and asset based carriers aka actual trucking companies with actual trucks. You can find my most recent appearance with Tucker here - https://tuckercarlson.com/tucker-show-gord-magil-060126You can follow Cole on Twitter - https://x.com/StevensOK26over on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/cole-stevens-3345329a/and on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/cole.stevens.73594Cole's Oklahoma campaign FB page - https://www.facebook.com/STEVENSOKHD51Thanks for listening, and as always, any questions, comments, suggestions, corrections or Hate Mail can be directed to me here - gordilocks@protonmail.com

I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Kevin Cohee.Title: Owner, Chairman & CEO of OneUnited BankHost: Rushion McDonaldPodcast: Money Making Conversations Masterclass Kevin Cohee discusses the mission, history, and future of OneUnited Bank, the largest Black‑owned bank and the first Black‑owned internet bank in the U.S. The conversation connects Black economic history, financial literacy, technology (AI), and wealth-building, positioning OneUnited Bank as a modern solution to long‑standing financial exclusion in Black and underserved communities. Purpose of the Interview The interview is designed to: Educate listeners on why Black-owned banks matter historically and economically. Explain how technology has transformed banking, making location irrelevant. Address financial exclusion, particularly reliance on check-cashing services. Promote financial literacy as the foundation of wealth creation. Position OneUnited Bank as a practical, accessible tool for individuals, entrepreneurs, and communities to build equity. Key Themes & Takeaways 1. A Mission Rooted in Black History Kevin Cohee frames OneUnited Bank as part of a long historical vision, not a modern trend. Leaders such as Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all advocated for a national Black-owned bank. Cohee’s own family legacy ties back to Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, including land ownership stemming from negotiated “40 acres and a mule” outcomes. Takeaway: Economic independence has always been central to Black progress. 2. From Brick-and-Mortar to Digital Banking OneUnited originally grew by acquiring small Black-owned banks nationwide. The bank pivoted early toward technology-driven banking, recognizing that: Customers expect 24/7 access Physical branches are no longer required Digital reach enables national—and global—impact Key insight: Technology allowed OneUnited to become a national Black bank without national branches. 3. Financial Technology Built for Real-Life Problems Kevin Cohee emphasizes that OneUnited designs products around how people actually live, not just traditional banking norms. Examples include: Second-chance checking accounts Emergency small-dollar loans Alternative credit criteria Nationwide surcharge-free ATM access AI-powered tools that help users understand: Cash flow Assets vs. liabilities Net worth (or debt) Financial decision-making in real time Takeaway: Banking should help people function—not punish them for past mistakes. 4. Financial Literacy Is the Real Wealth Gap Cohee states that 90% of Americans are financially illiterate, largely because: Financial literacy is not taught in K–12 education He compares this to not teaching reading—and then blaming people for illiteracy. OneUnited uses AI and data aggregation to help customers make expert-level decisions without being experts. Key message: Financial literacy, not income alone, determines long-term wealth. 5. Ending Dependence on Check-Cashing Services Kevin sharply criticizes high-fee check-cashing businesses that dominate underserved neighborhoods. OneUnited offers digital check deposits, debit cards, and ATM access—removing the need for physical branches. Anyone, anywhere in the U.S., can bank with OneUnited via oneunited.com. Takeaway: Lack of access is no longer an excuse—awareness is the missing link. 6. Technology as the New “40 Acres” Kevin draws a powerful parallel: Land ownership was once the primary source of wealth. Technology and financial literacy are today’s equivalents. Entrepreneurs no longer need to manufacture products—branding, distribution, and digital reach are the new leverage. Key insight: Technology levels the playing field—if people understand how to use it. 7. Mandatory Financial Literacy as a Policy Solution Kevin advocates for required financial literacy courses in all U.S. schools. He cites research showing: One required high-school financial literacy course can generate $100,000+ in lifetime net worth per student. He frames this as a matter of equity, not preference. Takeaway: Systemic problems require systemic solutions. Notable Quotes “The concept of a national Black-owned bank goes all the way back to slavery.” “We’re not behind in technology—we are the party.” “Ninety percent of Americans are not financially literate.” “You don’t have to go to check cashers and get ripped off.” “Technology is the new 40 acres.” “Financial literacy alone can generate over $100,000 in net worth per person.” “There has never been a better time to build a business than right now.” Overall Impact This interview is both a financial masterclass and a historical lesson. Kevin Cohee reframes banking as a tool of empowerment, not just transactions, and positions OneUnited Bank as: A modern solution to historic exclusion A technology-first institution built for underserved communities A catalyst for financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation Final message: Access + education + technology can finally close the racial wealth gap—if people choose to engage. #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What if the anxiety you're facing isn't bipolar disorder alone — but the fear of what might happen next? With humor, honesty, and practical insight, Gabe Howard, who lives with bipolar disorder, shares devastatingly real stories — including the panic attack that caused him to quit a job from the parking lot. Along the way, Dr. Nicole explains the critical differences between anxiety, panic attacks, panic disorder, and bipolar disorder, while unpacking why these disorders so commonly occur alongside bipolar disorder. You'll learn why anxiety can quietly fuel isolation, how avoidance behaviors grow, what treatment actually looks like, and why therapy, coping skills, and medication each play different roles in recovery. Most importantly, this episode asks a powerful question: Can panic attacks and anxiety ever truly go away — or is the goal learning how to fight back? Listeners will learn: why using the correct terminology to describe panic and anxiety is essential for effective treatment why medication is often a temporary fix and not a long-term solution how to understand the “fear of fear” cycle — and begin breaking free from it Whether you're having trouble leaving the house or trying to understand why your brain feels stuck on a “what if” roundabout, this episode offers the clinical clarity and authentic perspective needed to help break the cycle. Hit play to better understand the science of panic, anxiety, and bipolar disorder — and learn how to start taking your life back. State-level data regulation in the United States is accelerating, with a growing patchwork of laws reshaping how organizations approach privacy, artificial intelligence, and online safety. In this episode of The Data Chronicles, we provide a 2026 legislative wrap-up, examining how new comprehensive privacy laws in states like Oklahoma and Alabama, alongside emerging frameworks in Louisiana, are reinforcing a largely harmonized – but still fragmented – compliance landscape. The discussion explores how AI regulation is diverging more significantly, with states such as Colorado and Connecticut shifting toward targeted, risk-based approaches focused on automated decision-making and employment use cases, while broader concerns around AI chatbots and workforce integration continue to draw legislative attention. We also unpack the rapid evolution of online safety and children's protections, including the expansion of age-appropriate design codes, age verification requirements, and ongoing constitutional challenges. Across all three areas, the episode highlights the practical implications of increased regulatory overlap, evolving enforcement dynamics, and the growing need for organizations to monitor state-level developments closely – particularly as lawmakers continue to experiment with technology-driven solutions and push toward more granular oversight of data-driven systems.

Cindy Heiner, Chief Information Security Officer at Aiden Technologies, brings more than two decades of security leadership to this candid conversation about career pivots, people-first leadership, and the evolving role of AI in security operations. What began as a near-exit from IT (she was seriously considering opening a coffee shop and bookstore in rural Oklahoma) turned into a defining career in cybersecurity after a colleague recruited her to build one of the earliest application security teams in 2003. In this episode, Cindy shares how CliftonStrengths coaching helped her grow as both a leader and an introvert navigating a male-dominated field, why building the right team matters more than filling roles, and how she approaches AI and automation in security with enthusiasm balanced by a firm belief in human oversight. She also speaks directly to women considering a career in security, challenging the gatekeeping mindset and encouraging candidates not to let job descriptions scare them off.

Joel shares his remarkable journey from starting with a $1-per-year lease and a handful of cattle to building a rapidly growing regenerative ranch through an innovative herd-share model that connects families directly to food production and land stewardship.Together, they discuss some of the biggest challenges facing agriculture today, including land access, generational succession, government regulation, profitability, rural community decline, and the opportunities and risks presented by emerging technologies. Joel offers a candid perspective on what it takes to build resilient businesses, restore local food systems, and create pathways for the next generation of farmers and ranchers.Key Takeaways:✅ Why community—not individualism—is the key to revitalizing agriculture.✅ How Joel's herd-share model enables families to participate directly in regenerative ranching.✅ The barriers young farmers face when accessing land, capital, and opportunity.✅ How ultra-high-density grazing can improve soil health, resilience, and profitability.✅ Why stewardship, leadership, and mentorship are critical to rebuilding rural communities.✅ The intersection of faith, entrepreneurship, and regenerative agriculture.✅ How innovative agricultural models can challenge outdated systems and create new opportunities.Joel is currently facing a legal battle related to his herd-share model after Oklahoma regulators launched an investigation into whether the program constitutes an unregistered security. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for herd-share programs, local food systems, and agricultural innovation across the United States.Whether you're a farmer, rancher, entrepreneur, or someone passionate about the future of food and rural communities, this conversation offers valuable insights, practical lessons, and a hopeful vision for what's possible when stewardship and profitability work hand in hand.Resources: * Support Joel's fundraiser: https://www.gofundme.com/f/protecting-herdshares-local-food-rights* Joel's article, Soil and Money: https://www.theamericantribune.news/p/soil-and-money* Smoke River Ranch article, The American Restoration: Fixing Agriculture in America: https://www.smokeriverranch.com/the-american-restoration-fixing-agriculture-in-america* Recommended video: https://youtu.be/V8MwWArJ1mM?si=b3ujVnhIfnisyPfqJump over to YouTube to catch the video of this and all podcast episodes.https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpLUbiwmZtkszQAjdtlO8ZQiJjgrYGr1x

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.splitzoneduo.comHost emeritus Steven Godfrey joins Richard and Alex for a look back at the Big 12's extremely public flirtation with expansion a full decade ago. It was a strange spring and summer in 2016, as the Big 12 basically put on realignment tryouts for a long list of schools including several (BYU, UCF, Houston, and Cincinnati) who did get into the conference — but not until years later, when others dominoes had fallen. Let's revisit the summer of realignment that wasn't, and then let's think about how it changed the next decade of college football. In this episode:* 0:00: Why the realignment fashion show became so public* 8:10: The now-quaint factors that drove realignment decisions back then* 12:28: The candidate pool, including Houston and Cincinnati's very different campaigns, BYU's many complications, UCF before the Scott Frost/Josh Heupel run, and SMU before it became an ACC playoff team* 32:02: Why the process came down to BYU, Cincinnati, and Houston. (Also, why the Big 12 was genuinely scared of Houston)* 43:48: Counterfactuals: whether earlier expansion would have changed Texas and Oklahoma's exit, the Pac-12's collapse, or the expanded playoff's politics around non-power teams* 56:08: The afterlife of the public audition, from Memphis and Sacramento State to the next round of conference-movement anxiety.Everyone can hear a free preview of this episodeTo get the whole thing, become a paid subscriber today. What is the most expensive real estate in college football? Answer: the 7 yards between the OT's outside shoulder and the QB's chin. So why not rank the Top 10 defensive line units in college football heading into the 2026 season. Can A.J. Holmes Jr. lead a rebuilt Texas Tech line back to the CFP, is Will Heldt ready to continue the Clemson D-line NFL pedigree, and is everyone sleeping on David Stone and the Oklahoma front? McElroy goes over all it plus tells you why this is the deepest Notre Dame defensive line in a generation, if anyone will be able to run on Texas and why Oregon has far and away the best defensive line in the country.
