Written in the midst of certain events that altered the course of my life for a period. Those kinds of experiences which make one question his identity, doubt his identity. Identity as a believer, as a man. Identity can indeed be questions by events, maybe even altered or shrouded by events. Identity can be lost, or maybe forgotten. Identity can be recovered if it is one's true identity. Or is it that the identity was re-recognized not really recovered.

The River is a poem I wrote in the year 2010 while working at the Banana Island Office of Airtel Nigeria. We had a body of water beside the office and one day I penned this down while watching the tiny fish inside. Credits to Akurios for the sound and JoshSeas for the amazing picture. - Kenneth Igiri www.scribblingsage.com
