Sacrifice is the root of Christianity. The bible often likens Christians to trees. Stronger trees are characterized by deeper roots.Deeper roots also imply trees that last long and bear fruits periodically over a longer period of time as compared to shallow rooted trees. The absence of sacrifice implies shallow roots which may yield fruits but may not last long since trees with shallow roots die off soon.
