Welcome to Tails from the Deep a bi-weekly podcast with me, Mermaid Tia. I will be your hostess, storyteller and keeper of myths and legends from the deepest parts of the waters all over our world. Here we will speak of ancient beings, creatures and horrors that our ancestors feared and worshiped. Most ancient stories and folk tales have disturbing themes, dark and frightening encounters and monsters lurking in the shadows, you won’t find your modern fairy tales here. We will take the time this first season to explore ancient mermaids starting from the western classics of the Mediterranean and the Middle East and will be exploring the influence these myths have had on our modern perceptions and representations of the Mermaid.
