Before you tell your life what truths and values you have decided to live up to, let your life tell you what truths you embody, what values you represent.”  Over these past months We the People have turned occasional protests into protest projects coupled with growing political power to heal democracy.How else do we need? Palmer's book, Healing the Heart of Democracy; The Courage to Create a Politics Worthy of the Human Spirit (published in 2011) draws on our human instinct to choose hope, creativity and action for the common good over conflict.Following are five “habits of the heart” that can help us restore democracy's foundations as we nurture them in ourselves and each other:   • An understanding that we are all in this together   • An appreciation of the value of “otherness”   • An ability to hold tension in life-giving ways   • A sense of personal voice and agency   • A capacity to create communityChange arises out of chaos; but we have to learn the root causes of the chaos in order to shepherd our way to change. It began, however, as an incredible idea for a film - “The Sixth Sense” – and the reason the meme is so prevalent today, is because the film blew our minds with the unexpected twist ending forcing us to watch the film again. But what if your child were to truly tell you they were seeing dead people. Not imaginary friends, and not even the occasional monster in the closet… but actually seeing dead people. One woman in the UK is pondering that question with not one, but two children who are adamant they are seeing those who have already passed on. It began as proof for the skeptic — and ended as evidence for the damned.Transcript, Pics, and Videos: https://weirddarkness.com/IfYouDontBelieveA skeptic named Vince installs home surveillance cameras and immediately catches terrifying oddities around his wife Deanna: something yanking her leg in bed, doors moving, sheets whipping, and shadows crossing doorways. As Deanna grows fearful—and strangely religious after finding a puzzle box with a tilted “portait” cross—Vince keeps trying to rationalize it (and prank it), while a socially awkward fan, Christina, starts hovering around their house with a Bible that conveniently bookmarks the Book of Joshua. The phenomena escalate: a ceiling fan crashes, Deanna sleepwalks, opens secured doors, digs holes in the yard at night, and eventually collapses after a guttural outburst; she's hospitalized and unresponsive. A medium, Heather, declares the house isn't haunted—the wife is—and hints, “you just have to dig.” Vince and a friend dig where the gardener recently fell and unearth an urn with ash and bone; moments later, the hospital calls: Deanna wakes up. Research plus a catering business card suggests a grim backstory: a prior tenant family—Joshua Juarez—a murder-suicide, and a possibly murdered daughter buried on the property. The cross is sealed away, the urn goes to police, and Deanna recovers. The Hero is called to a task that is not at the surface of her being; rather, the task requires her to do what I have called for some 30 years now an “archeological dig on oneself.” It's serious stuff. No wonder the Hero resists.We think we can remain emotionally safe by hiding our vulnerability. The problem is that as long as we resist the call (and I know well how I resisted the call to leave behind my Voiceless Victim self) we will never be able to live our Truth, never experience our Essence.Yes, the Hero goes out on a quest; but that external journey is just the stage on which the story is played. Recognized in 2009 by the Vancouver Mayor's award for emerging artist and in 2014 as the Vancouver Public Library's Storyteller in Residence, her work is deeply rooted in her family history on Galiano Island. Jessica Hallenbeck is a documentary filmmaker, independent scholar and community planner. With an undergraduate degree in media and film from Queen's University, she has worked in documentary for 20 years. Jessica holds a PhD in Geography from the University of British Columbia and her multimodal research cuts across filmmaking, writing, and exhibitions. Jessica is a Sundance Institute and Chicken and Egg Alumni. Her dissertation (2020) won The Starkey-Robinson Award for graduate research on Canada and is currently under contract with UBC Press. And while it's more than possible that most of these sightings are explainable by misidentification of existing wildlife, or overactive imaginations, the sheer number of sightings couldn't possibly be waved off by such simple explanations. We'll look at some true stories of people who have come across unexplainable creatures. (I Met a Monster: True Stories of Cryptid Encounters) *** Have you ever had a premonition while dreaming? Something that later came true in real life? What do you do with that information? What if you know it's not a normal dream, but a real look into the future and if you don't do something, a tragedy will take place? But then… what if your dream warning is what actually leads to a real life murder? Telekinesis, as much as we'd like to think it's possible, has been proven not to exist. Well, except for those scientific studies that we have not heard about that say the exact opposite.
