Plenary talks at the conference on Computability in Europe 2012, which was held in Cambridge June 18-23 to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Alan Turing.
The issues Alan Turing had to contend with were not unique to him. Many others before and after have had to deal with many of the same themes. Robert Lubarsky (of Florida Atlantic University) will give a personal view of Turing's life and times, and of his death, and of being a gay logician. Part of the Alan Turing Centenary 2012.
Plenary talk given by Professor Paul Smolensky of Johns Hopkins University, on June 21 2012. The slides accompanying the talk (11 MB) are available for download at http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~bh288/cie2012/cie2012-smolensky.pdf
