Originally recorded January 31, 2019. Today we get back into the book club groove with 'The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb.' Join us on February 15th for 'Let's Get Invisible.' We're still out here asking those important questions, like, how big is that casket/sarcophagus anyway?? Original Video Here: https://youtu.be/PrCKBdTVbCs
Originally Recorded on December 15, 2018. Welcome back to Deadhouse! Today the book we're looking at is 'Say Cheese and Die Screaming!' This is another step into Horrorland, and it is a fun one! A good story with really interesting ideas related to the lore of the camera and how it works. On top of that our main character is a very clever go getter! It's campy fun, especially after the disaster that was the last book we looked at. This is our last book before we come back on January 31st. During the holidays, if you're someone who's inclined to do it, we're asking for Goosebumps fan art and fan fic! It can be related to this story and further expanding on what happens with the camera, or illustrating a favourite scene - or it can be from any Goosebumps book if you want! If you've got it or want to make it, we want to see it. Original Goosebumps theme composed by Jack Lenz. Happy Holidays everyone!! Originally recorded on November 30th, 2018. Welcome to Deadhouse! Today we're talking about the horror show that is Say Cheese and Die..Again! Did you want to read a bad sequel like Monster Blood II, except take the worst elements of it and amplify them?? Then this is the book for you. In all seriousness, it's bad. It's so bad. It's kind of the worst really. Don't read this book, we cannot recommend it. And honestly, I feel sorry going into this not knowing what was going to happen, so bless you dear listener if you're someone who actually read along with us. Today we want to know what you'd have liked to have seen happen in the direct sequel. How would you have written this? What would your setup be? If you answer on twitter don't forget to tag it with #GBCGhostNextDoor. We hope you join us on December 15th for the final video of the year, Say Cheese and Die Screaming! Today we really get into the plot of Say Cheese and Die! We had so much fun with this one. We talk about the Coffman house and how the story begins to take on elements of a gothic tale, the kids and their dynamic, what cameras were like in the 90's, and the improbability of secret headboard cupboards. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/KBTqpQrzm74 We want to know what you thought of the group of kids and if you think the same story would still work using today's technology. Originally recorded October 31st, 2018. Enter Horrorland! Today we're having 'Monster Blood for Breakfast.' This is not a direct sequel to Monster Blood, so as a result, we had a lot of fun reading it. The technology was up to date, the characters well fleshed out, and the plot a little wild - but mostly believable! (We'll forgive Matt for trying to hide in the deep end of a pool - no one could possibly see him there.)Don't forget to hashtag all your comments and reviews on twitter with #GBCGhostNextDoor. Join us again on November 15 for book # 4 in the Goosebumps series, 'Say Cheese and Die!' Originally recorded October 23, 2018. Welcome to Deadhouse, where we take a look at the final Monster Blood Book in the original 62 run. This one was...interesting. In the most bizarre one of the series we mostly just talk about gremlins and blue balls. Don't forget to hashtag your comments, questions, and book reviews on twitter with #GBCGhostNextDoor so that we see them! Recorded September 15th, 2018. Welcome to Deadhouse, where today we learn it really is about the Monster Blood. We talk about bullies, character growth (or lack there of) and how drastically this book series has changed from the first book to the second. There is some very messy audio in this one due to pet interference, especially at the very beginning - it does not stay that bad for very long I promise. Join us for the next book 'Monster Blood III.' Watch the video of this episode here: https://youtu.be/jifkutwMlXQ
