On this months Drunken Book Club we dive deep into the Goosebumps Monster Blood quartet. This week we discuss the first two in the tetralogy and our interest grows much like monster blood itself. So cuddle with your hamster because you're in for a scare, about 40 pages in.
Spoilers: We talk about Space Jam: A New Legacy. Today we are discussing the second of 4 Monster Blood books in the main Goosebumps Series: Monster Blood 2 (or Monster Blood II) by R.L. Stine (Goosebumps #18). After this book we concluded that most people like the idea of Goosebumps more than anything else. Also, like most sequels, we rehash all of our basic points from the first one in a new fun way. Enjoy! Our next episode will come out on August 18th and we'll be talking about R.L. You know how most people finish off their grand projects with a big bang? Not our boy RLS. "Fizzle and Die" is the best way to describe the ending of the Goosebumps original 62. He was already working on the Goosebumps 2000 series at this point. (Insert that meme of the guy with the girlfriend looking at the other girl.) Also, this is the final Goosebumps book and we are free of this curse.
Goosebumps #3: Monster Blood by R.L. Stine Published in September 1992 On today's episode, the gang imagines a world where R.L. Stine is a KFC Taco Bell franchise owner; explores the darker Dutch Goosebumps for all our listeners in the Netherlands; and makes a Patreon promise for a Universal Studios road trip to slime Brent.
Evan is tired of this mother f*#$'n Monster Blood, on the this mother f*#$'n plane! The Writers Mythos 010 - Joe Hill Our dive into the Mythos is of a slightly familial nature as we look at the son of The King of horror: Joe Hill. Monster Blood, the iconic Goosebumps goop, returns for this final book in the mainline series. Is it really Monster Blood though or just a can of blue mutant warcrimes? Chad, Paul, and Dom cover this tale of wacky watersports, dogs in distress, and sloppy science. While you listen, we ask you to consider: what do the 'Sluglins' look like? Are they adorable? Gremlin-y? Does any answer excuse Kermit and the other kids being complete idiots? Regardless we have a blast discussing the book and share big updates for the podcast as one of our friends heads out for distant lands. We love you all. How many times does the third entry in a trilogy derail the franchise? 'Godfather Part III' was the only film in the series not to win a Best Picture Oscar, while 'Spider-Man 3' required Peter Parker to dance AND cry, though thankfully never seen in the same scene. How will 'Monster Blood III' fare in comparison? Listen and find out, my fiendish friends.Monster Blood III is the twenty-ninth book in the original Goosebumps book series, and the third book in the Monster Blood saga. Sequels are tricky; for every 'Empire Strikes Back' or 'Godfather Part II' there is also a 'Speed 2: Cruise Control', which didn't even bring back Keanu Reeves from the original and was reportedly based entirely on a recurring nightmare the director had involving a cruise ship crashing entire an island. Monster Blood II doesn't feature a cruise ship or Keanu Reeves, so how will it fare? Let's find out.Monster Blood II is the eighteenth book in the original Goosebumps book series, and the second book in the Monster Blood saga. It is the first sequel in the original series, and was first published in 1994.

Recorded September 30, 2018. Monster Blood has become the giant hamster in every room. We want to hear what you think about the character development in this one. And how do you feel about blue feathered boys running around? The police are pretty cool with it. Let us know on twitter with the hashtag #GBCGhostNextDoor. You can watch the original video here: https://youtu.be/Wgk5NiejKmc Next time we're looking at Book 62, Monster Blood IV. If you'd like to support us, shares are always fantastic. The first sequel in the series, Monster Blood II picks up shortly after the first, and our hero Evan is anything but a hero to the kids in his new town. No one believes his story, the adults in charge hate him, he's in charge of cleaning up hamster turds, and he has a new nemesis named Conan. The change in Evan's life, the return of a few old friends, and witch induced PTSD are all covered in this week's episode. Also, I thrown in a Robin Williams reference and some info on the latest GooseDown merch!
To round out the "big 3" long running stories/themes with Slappy the Dummy and Monster Blood, we have the first story involving a certain shopkeeper's long lost masks. We cover the protagonist's relationships with other angst-ridden youths in fiction, artificial life trying to exist in a real space, and the differences between the TV and book versions of one of the most famous Goosebumps stories around.
Evan and Andy return in a new tale. While the setting may be new, you can bet your bottom dollar this puppy is going to be full of wet sucking sounds from that green gunk we love to hate. Monster Blood is back and it's coming to a hamster near you!
Recorded September 15th, 2018. Welcome to Deadhouse, where today we learn it really is about the Monster Blood. We talk about bullies, character growth (or lack there of) and how drastically this book series has changed from the first book to the second. There is some very messy audio in this one due to pet interference, especially at the very beginning - it does not stay that bad for very long I promise. Join us for the next book 'Monster Blood III.' Watch the video of this episode here: https://youtu.be/jifkutwMlXQ
Recorded August 31, 2018. Welcome to Deadhouse! Today we get lost in 90's toys, fashion, and technology with Monster Blood. Don't forget to share your thoughts on the book on Twitter with #GBCGhostNextDoor. Join us for the next book 'Monster Blood II.' Watch the video of this episode here: https://youtu.be/pl4yJCtTF18

This is a particularly raunchy episode of Goosebuds, friends. Not sure why; maybe we're just all really hot and bothered by the idea of canned monsters. In this episode Chad, Dom, and Paul talk public event notification systems, cock socks (and cock mummies), daggerin' & dancin', Captain Stabbin', and the weird fetishes of Monster Blood. That's right; we discuss Chapter Three in 'The Chillogy' of goopy globs of giantism. Hope you enjoy. Oh, and I guess, they talk about the just-for-TV sequel, More Monster Blood, or whatever.
