Hello everyone! Saying this year is difficult is an understatement. Administrators, teachers, students and parents are all trying to figure out how to balance their lives within constant disruption and uncertainty. For many, this problem is causing mental health concerns and quality of life struggles. Returning for part two of our discussion, Monika, otherwise known as @thecheerteacher on Instagram, is here to talk about the nuts and bolts of her well-being workshops! In this episode we touch on: How to set up a well-being workshop When to have them Involving parents and getting feedback Tips to start You do not want to miss this one!   This episode is sponsored by Heinemann—the leading publisher of professional books and resources for educators—and their new classroom resource, Math by the Book by Sue O'Connell and colleagues. Math is everywhere—even in great children's books! Teachers and students love a good story. But those stories can also help elementary students make sense of important mathematical concepts. Math by the Book shows teachers how to use high-quality children's books to teach grade-specific math skills and content. You'll find activities, investigations, and teaching strategies…all paired with lists of carefully chosen K-5 literature. James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,  who does not change like shifting shadows.  18 He chose to give us birth through the  word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.The Blessing of God comes through the Word of God.Your Attitude towards the Bible Your Actions based on the Bible.James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above The Word Of God Is A Good And Perfect Gift That God Has Given To UsGenesis 3:1“did god really say”…God's Word is Living and Powerful. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is  Say this next word with me: living and powerful.  2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathedHebrews 4:12 For the word of God is  living and powerful. Sometimes life just seems to flow along and it's not so much about surviving, it's about riding a wave and enjoying it. Other times life feels challenging. It feels like how am I going to get through this moment to the next? How am I going to survive? Well, I don't know if the ‘s' word from the title of this episode has ever crossed your mind. You know that word suicide? Have you ever thought, oh, gosh, I'm just so discouraged? Many times I've talked with my guests about how to stay focused find contentment in life. I ask them, How do you achieve things in life that matter? Today, this conversation is for you. And I mean, there is a reason you're here and that we're connected right now. Whatever the time is, whatever the place is, there's a reason that we're connected at this very moment. Listen & Subscribe on: iTunes / Stitcher / Podbean / Overcast / Spotify Connecting With Others It's very sad and unfortunate that so many people are feeling anxiety and discouragement in the world right now. I think you'll find value from today's episode, because what I've done is, I'm focusing on five keywords. And I'm just going to talk about those five things in order. The last word is the one that I personally think can be the most impactful and can help you the most. Take whatever you can from any of these points. If you find one sliver of value here, that's great. It might be one word, or one sentence that speaks to you today. It might be that one of the points may really speak to you. Listen to this episode over and over if you find it meaningful. Today, I just want to connect with you. Personally, I think connection is invaluable between human beings. It's not always easy, but I think the more we're able to connect somehow, the more our life will take on meaning. That doesn't mean you need to connect with hundreds of people and constantly be searching for more people to connect with you. No, that's not what I'm talking about at all. Because that sounds like a rat race and a goal where we would become scattered and frustrated. Simpler Than We Think The first word on my list is a word with only two letters. And it starts with D. And it's such a simple word. I think if you're feeling frustrated and stuck, or you're feeling down and discouraged, this word will be meaningful. Maybe you've lost someone or something in this life, and you're just hurting. Do you have a lot of pain or anger? Well, this word is an important word. The word is do. Do something else. Do something different. If you're sitting down, stand up. If you're walking, stop walking, and stand still. You know, it sounds overly simplified. You know what I think? I honestly think some of the best lessons in the world are such simple lessons. That's why we don't see them. That's why we take so long to learn them because they're hidden in their simplification. Where Is The Prize? You'll know that there are lots of books out there about finding the secret treasure or finding the answer to life. Often you get to the end of the book and you discover the answer was hidden in a simple place. Well this word do is just a simple word. It just means to me that you need to do something different from what you're doing now. Do something positive, don't do anything that might harm yourself or someone else but do something that's different from what you're doing currently. Tune in to listen to the rest of the episode. On today's episode of The It's Only Rock And Roll Podcast, we have a multi-topic, jam-packed conversation with heavy-metal's most prolific bass player, RUDY SARZO. The former Cuban refugee turned metal-master details his embrace of the LA heavy rock scene of the late-70's - including how working with his friend the late Randy Rhoads in Quiet Riot landed him the bass player spot in Ozzy Osbourne's touring band, and why a plan to sabotage the song that would put Quiet Riot on the map, didn't quite work out the way they thought it would. ------------------------- ֎ To order “Off The Rails” by Rudy Sarzo (both hardcopy and e-Book) visit: https://amzn.to/2XCpOKp Visit the 'It's Only Rock And Roll PODCAST' online at: ● Homepage – www.ItsOnlyRockAndRollPodcast.com ● Facebook – facebook.com/ItsOnlyRockAndRollPodcast/ ● YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCFB7uJ3dg4IKSxsNny9Jiw/videos ● Audea.io - https://audea.io/ ● Instagram - @itsonlyrockandrollpodcast Be sure to check out our all-new OFFICIAL IORR PODCAST STORE! https://www.cafepress.com/iorrpodcast © 2021 Howlaround Productions. When Colin Powell died on October 18 at the age of 84 from COVID-19 complications, he left behind a long, decorated career in Washington and the U.S. Army. He spent much of his life in the military, eventually rising to the rank of four-star general, and went on to become the first Black Secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs. But, as he discussed in a 2012 interview with NPR's Robert Siegel about his memoir It Worked For Me, Powell's reputation was tarnished when he used faulty evidence to push for the Iraq War: "I'll never leave it behind." This episode comes from NPR's new podcast, Book of the Day.

This is Ordinary Time, Proper 25, in the Church Calendar. Our general order comes from the Book of Common Prayer (1979) Daily Office and Scripture readings from the Revised Common Lectionary. We'll sing “40” by U2 throughout today's time of prayer. We'll read Psalm 42:1-8 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Lesson is Mark 10:46-52. We'll say the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We'll then have a time of prompted prayer. If you have a prayer request please submit it here. Photo by me :). 40 U2 I waited patiently for the Lord He inclined and heard my cry He lifted me up out of the pit Out of the miry clay I will sing, sing a new song I will sing, sing a new song How long to sing this song? How long to sing this song? How long...how long... How long...how long... to sing this song. He set my feet upon the rock And made my footsteps firm Many will see Many will see and fear Prayer of Confession Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. Psalm 34:1-8 1 I will bless the Lord at all times; * his praise shall ever be in my mouth. 2 I will glory in the Lord; * let the humble hear and rejoice. 3 Proclaim with me the greatness of the Lord; let us exalt his Name together. 4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me * and delivered me out of all my terror. 5 Look upon him and be radiant, * and let not your faces be ashamed. 6 I called in my affliction and the Lord heard me * and saved me from all my troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encompasses those who fear him, * and he will deliver them. 8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; * happy are they who trust in him! Mark 10:46-52 (NRSV) Jesus and his disciples came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way. The Apostles' Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. The Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Collect of the Day Proper 25, Rite Two Almighty and everlasting God, increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may obtain what you promise, make us love what you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen. -Ephesians 3:20, 21

380 The Way Into The Holy of Holies is Christ, A Guided Christian Meditation on Hebrews 9:2-8 with the Recenter With Christ app I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain, my purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God. By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina: Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Bible verses for Meditation: Hebrews 9 NASB 2 For a tabernacle was equipped, the outer sanctuary, in which were the lampstand, the table, and the sacred bread; this is called the Holy Place. 3 Behind the second veil there was a tabernacle which is called the Most Holy Place, 4 having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, Aaron's staff which budded, and the tablets of the covenant; 5 and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the atoning cover; but about these things we cannot now speak in detail. 6 Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the outer tabernacle, performing the divine worship, 7 but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, KJV 2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. 3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; 4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: 8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Meditation on Scripture: In Old Testament times the temple was divided into multiple different regions. There was an outer courtyard where there were altars where the sacrifices were made. Then the actual tabernacle had two different sections. The holy place, here referred to as the sanctuary, and the inner most sacred place called the holy of holies. The inner Holy of Holies was entered only by the high priest once each year. It was only after atonement was made. This scripture relates that process to the sacrifice of Christ. This is why I love the Book of Hebrews. It connects the old testament sacrificial system with the sacrifice of Christ. The sacrifices in the temple were meant to be a symbol of the sacrifice of Christ. As such, Christ passes the first tabernacle and enters into the second tabernacle, into the Holy of Holies, through the sacrifice of His own blood. The reason I wanted to think about holy places today is to reflect on what makes a place holy? What is it that makes a place a sanctuary? According to this scripture it is by meaningful sacrifice. The question then becomes, what sacrifice? The sacrifice here is the Atonement of Christ. What is it that makes a place holy in our time? Is it not the same thing? When we attempt to remember and acknowledge the sacrifice of Christ in our lives it becomes holy. As we attempt to live that way, to remember Christ and live in His way, in the walls of our own home it becomes holy. Do you live in holy places? Do you make the places holy around you by remembering the High Priest Jesus Christ. Do we invite him into our lives and into our homes and churches? Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. It's a must-read that every person, religious and non-religious, should buy and peruse every night before bed. It'll make you think harder, pray more ardently, and understand your civilization better." — Ben Shapiro, host of "The Ben Shapiro Show" "Dennis Prager's commentary on Exodus will rank among the greatest modern Torah commentaries. That is how important I think it is. And I am clearly not alone... It might well be on its way to becoming the most widely read Torah commentary of our time—and by non-Jews as well as by Jews." — Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, bestselling author of Jewish Literacy Why do so many people think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is outdated? Why do our friends and neighbors – and sometimes we ourselves – dismiss the Bible as irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Exodus, the second book of the Bible, will demonstrate that the Bible is not only powerfully relevant to today's issues, but completely consistent with rational thought. Do you think the Bible permitted the trans-Atlantic slave trade? You won't after reading this book. Do you struggle to love your parents? If you do, you need this book. Do you doubt the existence of God because belief in God is “irrational?” This book will give you reason after reason to rethink your doubts. The title of this commentary is, “The Rational Bible” because its approach is entirely reason-based. The reader is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. Finally this Sunday on the show I have the huge pleasure to welcome a multi-facetted poet, musician, sculptor and painter, film visual artist and of course magician Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule. Orryelle opens up about his childhood growing up in Perth, Australia, within a very conservative family and a very conservative place expressing himself in creative ways by writing and drawing and his ‘late huge awakening' at age 19-20 in Sydney. To Orryelle, art has always been a way of dealing with things that he initially thought to be disembodied – which will be another very relevant topic a bit later – and he shares how his personal boundaries between expressing himself by artistic mediums and consciously performing ritual work have blurred over time until finally all art and magic felt like one thing. Of course, the question how such an amazing artist could develop and hone his skills will be asked and answered where again we experience the respective process of magic and art to be intertwined in inseparable ways. We will also explore the Tarot deck Orryelle created more than 25 years ago and he will offer some insights into the very much intuitive creative process and explain why he chose to re-draw some of the cards around 10 years later but still prefers the rawness of the original ones in certain ways and how he considers them as one of the landmarks in his evolutionary process as both, an artist and magician. As my guest is an extraordinary poet as well, we simply have to talk about his book on the magic of language with a title that can be translated into ‘Words Becoming Flesh' containing a collection of his esoteric poems accompanied by amazing illustrations and an essay on the magic of language. The whole work will be published early next year (the exact date will be announced on our website) by none other than Jack Grayle at his newly founded publishing house Grayle Press. Actually, Orryelle will recite two wonderful examples of his poetry live on the show! Last December Orryelle has released his first feature film based on his ritual theatre piece ‘Solve et Coagula' asking himself and his audience what might have happened to Orpheus' immortal singing head and some deeper esoteric meanings. This amazing work has won 15 awards since its release and we will go into depth on the motivation for making it in the first place, its elements, how the creative process (again) aligned itself with feelings of being disembodied. We will also kindly remind our audience not to miss out on an exhibition at Haekem Theatre in Brussels on October 28 and 29 where Orryelle will perform a ritual dance/piece in collaboration with other musicians followed by a smaller gathering in a forest in the Ardennes! Orryelle gave me a number of links to his work and performances to share with you. This week we are discussing finding your strength in a community. The key takeaways this week are understanding your assignment, letting your community love on you, and receiving the love. Bible Verse shared in this episode:  “We know that we can trust God to do the things that he had promised. So, we must continue to expect those things. We must tell other people that we trust God. We should not stop doing that. We should think about how we can help one another. We want everyone to show love to each other. We want everyone to do good things to help one another. Some people have stopped meeting with the group of Christians. But that is not good. We should all continue to meet together. We need to help one another to be strong and brave. That is now even more important, because the Lord's great day is coming. You know that the Lord will return soon.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:23-25‬ ‭EASY‬‬ Mentioned during the show: Thank you to the supporters who donated to the Slaying Self Doubt journey by Buying me a coffee!  November 20th is our first Slaying Self Doubt event called Community & Conversations.
