From Ashes To New planning on releasing new music by the end of the year? That's Lance Dowdle lead guitarist of the band says they're shooting for-working on a concept and new songs as we speak. Lance guarantees this next album will be the one that keeps them on the rock landscape permanently. Enjoying success off of their latest album "The Future", Lance says that it's been a wild ride so far. The band has undergone a few lineup changes over the past few years but has found the right combination of people joking around with each other and not getting offended. They've created a comfort level with each other that is crucial in any situation where you're going to be in a confined space for an insane amount of time while being on the road. Lance touched on the success of their song "Crazy". He said that song wasn't originally on the record. It was a late addition after the album got handed back to the guys from the record label and told "You need more". They went back into the studio and recorded "Crazy" in 40 minutes. The rest is history. Such an ironic story in terms of the writing process. When it feels right, it can take you no time at all. Unfortunately, there are many times where it doesn't happen like that and you have to drudge through the drudgery. Lance and From Ashes To New were at the Diamond Ballroom earlier this week. He talked about their last experience there with a scorpion onstage. A conversation about phobia's broke out. With the amount of critters hanging around the Diamond Ballroom, Lance suggested they should open a petting zoo. New music is on the horizon and perhaps we'll get it by the end of the year.
