You're not alone if the Twilight soundtrack permanently altered your brain chemistry at a young age. Some of us were just destined to jam to Paramore, Muse, and Linkin Park while going on Webkinz ¯_(ツ)_/¯ This week, a dear friend of the pod, Allison Wiederin, breaks DOWN the iconic soundtrack from Twilight while sipping on a sparkling negroni sbagliato. This one has big "delirious at a sleepover" energy. Put on some sparkly body paint, pour a blood-red beverage, and vibe with us.Thank you to Cameron Bopp for editing our show and writing our theme song! You can find Album ReBrews on Instagram here and Twitter here. Brian Willie of Currents joins the Talk Toomey podcast to discuss the latest album, The Death We Speak. Brian talks about having the album completed for over a year and speaks on getting excited again for the record. Brian and Joshua talk about the latest tours the band has been a part of and thoughts on playing new songs before they are released. Brian talks Linkin Park and All That Remains being early influences. He also talks about his moments as a kid being a part of a Tae Kwon Do performance team and that being some of his early times in front of an audience. The writing process is broken down and talk of the next Currents album is brought up. Ryan's health and future with the band is discussed.
May the Fourth to you, Void! And also with you! We are back this week with Matt, of course, to break down our thoughts on the 2015 Star Wars revamp: The Force Awakens. It turns out there is little that all three hosts can agree on, except for Linkin Park is the soundtrack for Kylo Ren (queue Numb). With fun new characters comes new themes like "boys in space" energy, "stop holding my hand" energy, and "CRAWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIN!!! THESE WOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEALLLL!!!!" energy. Jeez, he's such a wimp. Matt christens the Millenium Falcon as the Aluminum Peregrine, Erin gets excited for the return of PowerPoint screen wipes, and Brennan chuckles for a trash compactor. Erin review: Great.Matt review: Best of the new ones.Brennan review: hate. Almost as much as Anakin hates sand.
It took 45 episodes, but we finally answer the question of whether or not Rage Against the Machine counts as nu-metal. It's a question that has rocked the message boards and Twitter threads since the dawn of time, and finally, two dumb guys from opposite sides of the continent put the debate to bed. We also dive into a deep and honest discussion about being leftist and creating art, as Rage are constantly meant to answer for their politics and Bryan draws a deep parallel with that to his own life and creative career. Plus, the songs are just really, really good. So that helps too. And because this show always contains multitudes, we do also talk about David Draiman finally fulfilling his truest form: being a divorced guy. If you want to find your truest form, you can do so by donating to the show at patreon.com/thepodkast, where a simple $4/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. You'll get a full-length one, like last month when John's wife Becca joined us to discuss "Linkin Park and Jay-Z: Collision Course", and you get two short ones on nu-metal songs. Plus you get merch discounts (we have new merch on the way!!!) and access to our exclusive Discord. It's the best deal in podcasting!

Welcome to episode 2 of music analysis where we talk about the fact that Linkin Park has some good music. But beyond that we look at this song from a few points of view - how is it musically, lyrically, how is the music video and how it ties in with the song, and how does the song fit in with the Bible. You may think come on there is nothing to discuss here - its a quick five minute song. But you would be wrong - we spend almost an hour and a half breaking down this song and what it means when they sing the words "I'm breaking the Habit tonight"Use Your Words podcast is passion project of two people from Southeastern Wisconsin. You take out Big Shiny Tunes 6 and put in your newest purchase from MusicWorld, the follow up the whole world has been waiting for: Meteora. Mike & Neil discuss their memories of this record, how it seemed like every single person they knew owned it, and how it's only grown in it's mythos over the years (especially those music videos!). They also discuss the 20th Anniversary edition of the record that includes some solid unreleased tracks and what Linkin Park means to them.

In this week's interview, Tyler and John sit down with lovelytheband's frontman Mitchy Collins. Beyond sharing his biggest gig pet peeves, the discussion centers around the band's massive success with their hit single "broken". Spending 76 weeks on the Alternative Billboard chart, the song set a Billboard record at that time, only to be later broken by All Time Low's "Monsters". Mitchy shares the irony behind this and reflects on the writing process of "broken", admitting that he initially hated the song after writing it.The interview also covers the band's signing to a smaller label, and Mitchy shares a hack he created to get his foot in the music industry. He recounts a session with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington that played a part in "broken"'s story just months before his passing. The success of "broken" caused the band to fall into bad habits, as they tried to chase creating hits. Mitchy also discusses their latest track "make me wanna die" and how it relates to his personal struggles.Towards the end of the interview, they talk about the band's upcoming album 'if we're being honest', featuring a great collaboration, and their summer tour with Beach Weather. Mitchy also sheds light on the difficulties of dealing with major record labels when it comes to money, and shares his goals for the band's own label, Happy Accident. Overall, the interview offers an insightful glimpse into the band's journey so far and their plans for the future.Support the showSign-up for our weekly newsletter!https://allpunkedup.com/subscribe Are you a fan of the scene and want to be a guest on the pod? Talkin' Rock With Meltdown Podcast
Great to get the chance to talk with Linkin Park's Dave "Phoenix" Farrell. We talked about the start of the band, and why he wasn't in it for the first album. He told me he stepped out to play with another band, then came back into the fold just before the debut album dropped. He tells me about the "latest" song "Lost". It was recorded for the Meteora album, but didn't make it. Phoenix explained why. "It sat too close to a couple other songs that were on the record". He said they set it aside and found it on a hard drive and brought it back. As far as the fans, he said "People seem to be really enjoying it...it's a huge win for us". We talked about the late Chester Bennington. He recalled loving hearing his voice again on the songs after 20 years. For those that never had a chance to meet Chester, he said "Chester was a very 3, if not 4 dimensional person". He talked about how good he was with his kids, and what a warm caring guy he was. Of course, I couldn't not talk about Golf with Phoenix. He a big fan of the sport. Harem Scarem is a Canadian band that formed in the late 80s. Today, singer Harry Hess joins me to talk about the band, Canadian music, the vinyl version of their second album Mood Swings and lots more. He told me about starting the band as teenagers in Toronto in the 80s. He said the sound of the band changed with the advent of the grunge era. He told me how much he liked some of the bands that came out of the Seattle scene. "We could do whatever we want, because no one had any expectations". He said the biggest representation of the sound of the band is the second album, Mood Swings. He also told me about their success outside of North America. "To this day they're our biggest territory" - talking about the Philippines. He talked about crisscrossing Canada in the early years and what a slog some of those trips were, as opposed to Europe where the towns are much closer. "Canada is about the toughest place to tour, getting from town to town." As far as why some bands break the invisible wall and find success in America? He spoke to the fact that Harem Scarem really didn't have a deal which allowed them to be released in the U.S. for several years into their existence. Speaking of Canadian rock, we talked about that, too. The hair band era sprouted a lot of metal bands from the Toronto area especially. He brought back some memories of some acts I haven't thought of in years. He also told me about a legendary musician who has a studio not far from his. Great conversation with Harry! -Meltdown- https://wrif.com/shows/meltdown-on-wrif/

Our full convo with Mike talking about new songs, movies and cereal
Welcome back to Brunch with Desb! Today I want to talk about the piping hot tea that is Gomez vs. Bieber. I'm sure you've heard all about the rumored feud between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber and while I've yet to do all of my research on the topic, I will say that it's pretty sad that it's come down to girl vs. girl. Stay tuned because I will be sharing my thoughts in the near future. Besides this, I also want to keep it real and give you a little mental health update. With my husband Wyatt just out of surgery, my struggles with breastfeeding, and a ton of work on my plate, your girl had a mental breakdown at the gym this past week while listening to Linkin Park's Shadow of The Day - iykyk. And so, I'm sharing this because I want you to know that if you're having a rough week, you're certainly not alone. I'm also trying to find a balance between it all and while it may seem like I can do it all, I struggle too. Last but not least, this is a Tell Me A Secret episode and you don't want to miss it because we're diving deep into all of your nitty gritty secrets including having sex at a friends house, hooking up with two different people in the same night, suspecting a partner of cheating, and so much more!
