This episode was sponsored by Cardiff    LightSpeed VT: https://www.lightspeedvt.com/ Dropping Bombs Podcast: https://www.droppingbombs.com/ Today's Dropping Bombs episode features Jeff Blue — entertainment attorney turned music executive, producer, and author who spent 25+ years running A&R for six major labels. He discovered Linkin Park and produced their Warner Bros. debut Hybrid Theory into the best-selling album of the 21st century, alongside signing Grammy winner Macy Gray and helping move 170 million albums worldwide.   Jeff breaks down how a broke law student with zero connections talked his way into the industry, the birthday demo tape that led him to Chester Bennington's voice, and the night he stood onstage with Korn and Limp Bizkit as Woodstock '99 turned into a riot.   Every rejection has a price, and Jeff paid his in full to build one of music's biggest stories. If you've ever been told you can't, this is proof that you can.

Chatter that Matters
I stole millions - Jonathan Todd Schwartz

Chatter that Matters

Jonathan Todd Schwartz was once entrusted with the fortunes and futures of some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Beyoncé, Linkin Park, and Alanis Morissette. Behind the image of the disciplined CPA and trusted Hollywood business manager, however, Jonathan was living a secret life. Childhood trauma, cocaine use, and an out-of-control gambling addiction consumed him. He lost millions gambling and, as his addictions spiralled, embezzled over $7 million from the clients who trusted him most. What began in his mind as money he would "borrow" and quickly repay became an elaborate betrayal built on falsified records, concealed withdrawals, and years of deception. When the truth finally surfaced, Jonathan lost his career, reputation, marriage, relationship with his sons, and his freedom. He was sentenced to six years in federal prison. In this raw and unflinching conversation, Jonathan confronts the damage he caused without seeking sympathy or forgiveness. He opens up about suicidal thoughts, the moment his double life collapsed, facing his wife and children, the brutal reality of prison, and the slow work of accepting responsibility for harm that can never be undone. More than a decade into sobriety, Jonathan now works as a therapist, helping people confront addiction, trauma, and the secret lives that keep them trapped. "I make very little money, but I'm the happiest I've ever been."

It's Wednesday, everybody's burning the midnight oil, and the crew is diving deep into what it actually takes to survive the morning grind.First up, we unpack the ultimate nighttime sleep routine. From Lern getting into bed strictly at 8:30 PM to Moon laying upside down with his legs up the wall like a red-lens-wearing alien, everyone has a bizarre trick for catching Zs. We go around the room comparing bedroom thermostat temperatures—settling the eternal debate between freezing 66° Arctic expeditions and crazy 78° hot boxes—and reveal America's scientifically proven ideal room temp. Plus, King Scott drops a bomb about his silk hair bonnet routine!Next, in honor of National Underwear Day, we rundown the top 7 underwear brands in America, call out cheap multi-pack basics, and debate whether self-cleaning, odor-free shirts made of volcanic ash and gold are revolutionary or gross. Things get weird fast when the gang breaks down why sticking Q-tips in your ears feels like an out-of-body astral experience, despite every ear doctor begging you to stop.We also reflect on things that were taboo 10 years ago that are totally normal now—like location sharing, canceling plans as self-care, talking about mental health, and the rapid rise of AI. Finally, with King Scott preparing for fatherhood, Moon brings out the official Social Security Administration data to review 50 of the absolute strangest baby names given to infants last year. Would you name your child Gator, Rooster, Chaos, or literally Infant Girl? Rizz is currently living it up (and complaining his way through) Paris, so the rest of the gang is holding down the fort!First up, the crew breaks down French Rizz's Instagram updates and sets up a tallies bet for his return. On Saturday night in Rancho Mirage, Glenn Hughes sang four Deep Purple songs with Kings Of Chaos, including "Stormbringer." Nobody in that room knew what they were watching. The Deep Purple, Trapeze, Black Sabbath and Black Country Communion legend has announced his retirement from touring and live performances, revealing he needs another open-heart surgery. Scott Penfold looks at the career, and at the interview from twelve months ago where Hughes told Eddie Trunk that retirement wasn't a word he used — that he'd come home from a European run reinvigorated, with new purpose, and had never felt so strong. Plus Linkin Park announce Unshatter, a documentary opening in theatres September 30 and directed by DJ and creative director Joe Hahn. It covers the seven years between Chester Bennington's death in 2017 and the band's 2024 return with Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain, running from 2022 studio sessions through the From Zero launch show in São Paulo. Mike Shinoda on what it isn't: "don't think reality TV." A companion live album recorded in São Paulo arrives alongside it. And Danny Carey has dropped off BEAT's fall tour with Tony Levin citing his Tool commitments — which is interesting, because Tool have exactly two shows on the books. The arithmetic, the case for optimism, and the reason Maynard James Keenan would tell you to calm down. Full write-ups on all three at LoadedRadio.com. On today's brand new cast, we travel back in time to the summer of 2003, and look back on the songs that were featured on the very first mix CD that I ever made. We take a look back at the entire original tracklisting, and how they fared on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and divulge some stories about each song's impact on me, and how the songs will be remembered during that era. Songs like AFI'S "Girl's Not Grey", Foo Fighters "Times Like These", Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong", and Thrice's "All That's Left" represented the amazing music that was omnipresent as I was getting ready to go off to college for the first time. At the end of the cast, I play you one of my fav songs from that era, The Ataris cover of Don Henley's hit "The Boys of Summer".

The conversation focused on an engaging interview at Wacken Open Air with Gray from Erzengel, exploring the band's unique stage persona, musical influences, personal journey, and the powerful impact of music on both artist and audience. The discussion explored how metal and classical music intertwine, the evolution of stage identity, and the universal family spirit found within the metal community.Main Topics CoveredErzengel's musical style and influencesInspiration and development of stage theatricsThe transformational power of performanceThe healing and connective nature of musicPersonal stories from Gray's musical journeyAudience reactions and the meaning of community in metalUpcoming shows and ways to connect with ErzengelKey Discussions & StoriesBand Image and ConceptOne concept discussed was the band's striking armor and giant wings, described as a cross between Powerwolf and Rammstein, with a fantasy "Dark Angel" theme blending light and darkness 00:43, 01:35.The discussion explored how the character and look were not just a decision but a gradual evolution—each step leading naturally to the final Erzengel stage persona 10:08, 10:15.The Power of MusicA key theme that emerged was the therapeutic value of music, for both the creator and the listener. Gray reflected on how Chester Bennington and Linkin Park's music provided emotional support in youth, and how now Erzengel's music has begun to uplift others in the same way 05:23, 11:25.Several points were raised, including the story of a fan reaching out to say Erzengel's music brought them “light in a hard time,” giving Gray a profound sense of fulfillment 11:46.Artistic Identity & PerformanceThe performer's transformation was discussed, with Gray explaining how putting on the costume allows shedding everyday concerns and revealing an authentic inner self onstage 07:41, 08:04.The conversation focused on the paradox of artists appearing extroverted on stage while often being introverted in real life, and the switch that happens when the spotlight comes on 07:17, 07:27.Metal Community SpiritThe discussion highlighted the inclusivity and family-like atmosphere at Wacken, emphasizing how music unites attendees regardless of background, culture, or language 17:30, 17:42, 17:55.It was noted that metal fans and performers span generations and value mutual respect and support 04:41, 04:54.Stories from the RoadGray shared amusing anecdotes of accidentally slapping bandmates with his large wings on stage, reflecting the challenges and fun of elaborate costuming in small venues 12:28.A key theme that emerged was the continual growth and vocal development undertaken since joining Erzengel, and the immense personal rewards it brought 13:15.Upcoming ShowsErzengel will host their mini-festival “Erzfest” in Ludwigshafen-Modach on August 29 and perform at Seven Arts Club in Mannheim with “Die Legende von Nord” on September 26 14:43, 14:52, 15:09.Notable Quotes"Think of Powerwolf and Rammstein got a child." 01:15"Classic is just metal without electricity." 04:40"Every time I'm dressing up, that's the feeling of leaving everything I don't have to wear now behind me." 07:41"Your music is bringing me up, it's lifting me up, you're bringing light to my life." 11:46"Music is the one language we all understand." 17:30"We are all one race here, the human race." 17:58Resources & Links MentionedSocial Media: Facebook, TikTok, Instagram — search for “Erzengel Band” 16:02How to Find the Band: Translate “Archangel” into German (Erzengel) for search 16:10Upcoming Shows:Erzfest at Ludwigshafen-Modach: August 29Seven Arts Club, Mannheim: September 26 with Die Legende von Nord 14:52, 15:09Pipeman in the Pit is a music, festival, and interview segment of The Adventures of Pipeman Radio Show (#pipemanradio) and from The King of All Festivals while on The Pipeman Radio Tour. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pipeman-in-the-pit--2287932/support.Click Here to Subscribe for PERKS, BONUS Content & FREE GIVEWAYS!Follow @pipemanradio on all socials &  Pipeman Radio Requests & Info at www.linktr.ee/pipemanradioStream The Adventures of Pipeman daily & live Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 1PM ET on W4CY Radio & Talk 4 TV. Download, Rate & Review the Podcast at The Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman Radio, Talk 4 Media, iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, YouTube & All Podcast Apps.

For many, September 11th is a shared, historical tragedy. But for today's guest, it is a personal anniversary - the day his father died. David Ferrugio was twelve years old when his dad was killed in the World Trade Center. Twenty-five years later, his grief continues to unfold - from recently sitting with his father's forensic file at the 9/11 Memorial to hosting his own podcast, DEAD Talks, where he invites people into honest conversations about death, grief, and what it means to keep living.  In this conversation, David reflects on carrying his private grief through such a public loss. We talk about what it was like to be so young when his dad died, the memories he's held onto, and the new stories he's discovered through other people who also knew his father.  David talks about the ways grief found expression before he had words for it - from watching footage of the attacks over and over, to blasting Linkin Park while wearing himself out with a punching bag, to eventually finding his voice through podcasting and writing.  We discuss: What he remembers about 9/11 and getting the news his father died  Sitting with his father's forensic file twenty-five years later   Carrying personal grief through a public tragedy How memory, trauma, and grief intersect Finding connection through stories about the person who died   Why grief doesn't always begin with words  The role of movement, music, humor, and curiosity in living with grief  What talking with hundreds of people about grief has taught David about compassion, uncertainty, and hope   Learn more about David, his podcast DEAD Talks, and his upcoming book, You're Not Dead Yet: How Grief and Loss Can Teach You to Live.  Note: This episode contains some salty language. Listen with care.

"Hot Takes" episode 102 featured ambient downtempo artist Casha Mour! In an effort to branch out into other realms of independent net-based electronic music, we made an effort to reach across the pond and engage with Dan, and it was extremely worthwhile. Despite the lateness of the hour for the poor fellow, Casha Mour went the distance, and we got to talk about all kinds of cool things like bleak reworks of well loved songs and the finality of the ElectroniCON festivals. Some talk may or may not have transpired about nu metal acts like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and P.O.D. It is possible that the topic of excessive self-promo on social media may have come up at one point during the broadcast. Talk about being the musical concierge in the friend group came up, and some chatting occurred around the topic of utilizing guitar in electronic music. We're so glad that this one hundred and first episode occurred, so be sure to run it back if you want to hear about such topics like the story behind "cash amour", MS-DOS edutainment games, metal bands with goblin-esque vocalists, and more!   "Hot Takes" is a safe space for all opinions!

(1999) 4. Alan Loveday, Neville Marriner: The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields – Vivaldi: The Four Seasons: No. 4 In F Minor, P.442 Winter: II. Largo @ Vivaldi: The Four Seasons (1969) 5. Backstreet Boys – As Long as You Love Me @ Backstreet’s Back (1997) 6. Linkin Park – In the End @ Hybrid Theory (2000)

Friday mornings are supposed to be easy. Then somebody admits they didn't know what a Long John donut was, and suddenly the entire show is questioning regional food names, the identity of John himself, and whether America can ever truly heal.On this episode of The Rizzuto Show, the gang kicks things off with an unexpectedly passionate discussion about Long Johns, eclairs, and why every city insists on calling the same food something completely different. From there, things get appropriately ridiculous. In music news, Ace Frehley's legendary 1975 Gibson Les Paul sells for over half a million dollars, proving that Kiss fans remain one of the most dedicated—and financially dangerous—fan bases on Earth. The crew dives into the legacy of the iconic guitar, the musicians inspired by it, and why certain pieces of rock history carry a price tag bigger than most houses. The conversation then shifts to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, where former guitarist Josh Klinghoffer says his era with the band has basically been erased from history. The gang debates forgotten albums, band politics, and why some musicians act like entire chapters of their careers never happened.Elsewhere, Madonna surprises fans with a pop-up Pride performance in Times Square, Ted Danson opens up once again about one of the most controversial moments of his career, and Bret Michaels' daughter shares stories about growing up backstage at Poison concerts that absolutely sound like they came from another planet.Movie fans get fed as the crew breaks down reviews for the new Masters of the Universe film, debates whether nostalgia can carry a franchise forever, and discusses famous movie mistakes that accidentally became iconic scenes. Plus, Nightcrawler gets some love, The Birdcage remains a classic, and everyone learns that sometimes the best moments in cinema happen when things go completely off the rails. Then comes the emotional damage. The crew discovers what modern audiences consider "dad rock," and let's just say nobody was emotionally prepared to hear Blink-182, Linkin Park, Korn, Creed, and Fall Out Boy thrown into the same category as classic rock legends. Time comes for us all. You'll also get celebrity birthdays, weird entertainment news, upcoming events, concert talk, and the usual collection of random tangents that somehow make perfect sense inside this daily comedy show. It's another completely normal day for a group of people who somehow get paid to have these conversations.Whether you're here for rock news, celebrity gossip, movie debates, or watching grown adults struggle with the passage of time, this daily comedy show has everything you need to make your Friday slightly more productive—or significantly less productive. Thanks for making The Rizzuto Show part of your routine. The crew kicks things off with air show excitement taking over St. Louis. Between Blue Angels screaming across the sky, traffic nightmares in Chesterfield Valley, food truck plans, soccer matches, and Moon somehow scheduling approximately 47 events in a single Saturday, the weekend is already off to a chaotic start. The team also swaps stories about hidden local gems, parks they've somehow ignored for years, and the eternal struggle of trying to get anywhere during a major regional event.Steve Ewing, his wife Beth, and the tragic loss of their dog after an attack in Tower Grove Park. The gang shares thoughts on responsible pet ownership, leash laws, dog training, accountability, and the kind of people who make terrible situations even worse by running away from them. It's an emotional discussion that highlights how quickly an ordinary day can become unforgettable. What's worse—finding out your child is being bullied or finding out your child is the bully? That launches a flood of personal stories, old-school parenting advice, schoolyard fight memories, gym teachers who looked the other way, and lessons learned from growing up in a world where conflict usually worked itself out one way or another. They debate about things that were ruined once too many people discovered them. Food trucks. Craft beer. Airbnb. Festivals. Etsy. Secret parking spots. National parks. Podcasts. Nothing is safe. If you've ever loved something before it became wildly popular and slightly unbearable, you'll probably find yourself nodding along while simultaneously realizing you might be part of the problem. An Olive Garden server receives a massive $700 tip, management gets involved, fraud reviews begin, accusations start flying, Facebook explodes, and suddenly nobody knows who to believe. Along the way you'll hear tales of childhood heroes, local legends, travel headaches, restaurant pet peeves, and the type of random conversations that somehow only make sense when heard together. That's what happens when a group of friends sits down with microphones and starts following every ridiculous tangent to its natural conclusion.Rizz didn't know what a Long John donut was?Which led to a passionate discussion about Long Johns, eclairs, and why every city insists on calling the same food something completely different. From there, things get appropriately ridiculous. In music news, Ace Frehley's legendary 1975 Gibson Les Paul sells for over half a million dollars, proving that Kiss fans remain one of the most dedicated—and financially dangerous—fan bases on Earth. Time comes for us all.The gang dives headfirst into one of the most ridiculous E-Memoriums we've had in a while, featuring cheese addiction, public stupidity, psychedelic suburban dads, shattered aviation dreams, and one of the most unexpectedly wholesome surprises we've ever pulled off.Rafe kicks things off by documenting his descent into dairy madness after being forced onto a 90-day elimination diet. What started as a simple food sensitivity test has turned into a full-blown cheese withdrawal situation. We're talking Gouda cravings, cheddar desperation, and behavior that would get you escorted directly out of a Target. If you've ever loved cheese enough to question your life choices, you'll feel seen.Meanwhile, Rizz discovers there's now a Lost Boys musical on Broadway. That's right. Somewhere, a vampire is singing show tunes and Gen X dads everywhere are suddenly considering season tickets. The crew debates Broadway shows, Book of Mormon, and whether Lost Boys might be the gateway drug that finally gets middle-aged rock fans into theater. Then comes one of the week's strangest news stories as the gang revisits the infamous Hooters incident involving a customer who somehow managed to turn a chicken wing restaurant into the site of a criminal investigation. It leads to a conversation that proves common sense may officially be extinct. The laughs keep coming when Rizz recounts his Primus concert experience. What should have been a nostalgic night of music instead became a fascinating study of what happens when suburban dads try to reconnect with their youth through psychedelics while simultaneously worrying about mortgages, roofing contractors, colonoscopies, and elevated heart rates. It's less Woodstock and more West County Wellness Check. After learning he lost his chance to fly with the Blue Angels, Moon was genuinely crushed. What follows is one of the coolest surprises we've ever pulled off. With help from an incredible listener, a Blue Angels-themed Corvette Stingray appears outside the station, giving Moon the next best thing to taking flight. What starts as a joke quickly becomes a heartfelt moment involving family memories, aviation dreams, and enough horsepower to temporarily heal a broken heart.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Man arrested for smashing bar window in south St. LouisOlive Garden Faces Backlash After Server Says $700 Tip Led to FiringAce Frehley's main Kiss guitar, the 1975 “Budokan” Gibson Les Paul, sells for over half a million dollars at auctionRam Made An AI-Generated Shirt With A Tacoma On ItVolunteer firefighter arrested for setting blazes and responding to them with his own department during 30-hour arson spreeNew York robber on the run after stealing just $605 from six banks across cityMan allegedly had 11-year-old hold flashlight during burglaryCedar Point bans guest from all Six Flags parks for life after video shows him eating chicken nuggets while riding Millennium Force roller coasterHere's why a Newark flight to Spain had to turn around over the Atlantic68-year-old woman arrested for calling 911 over Jell-O shot denial at Ocala barMan accidentally shoots himself in groin while shopping at Florida WalmartSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
