    Ivy Insights

The BREWtally Speaking Podcast is an absolute gem for heavy music fans. With its relevant approach to metal and its musicians, it provides an abundance of useful information and delivers on interesting content. Hosts Jon and Dan have a great rapport and their pre and post-interview chats add a personal and friendly touch to the podcast. The back catalogue of episodes is filled with interviews with some of the best metalcore bands, making it worth deep-diving into.

One of the best aspects of The BREWtally Speaking Podcast is its diverse range of guests. From musicians discussing the creation of their music to industry professionals talking about the state of the music industry, there's always something interesting being discussed. The questions asked by Jon are refreshing and different from what you typically hear in other interviews, adding a unique perspective to each episode. The podcast also has a great attention to detail and provides informative content that can be enjoyed by fans of rock music.

While there are many positive aspects to this podcast, one potential downside is the length of some episodes. At times, it can be difficult to get through 2-hour conversations, especially if you're pressed for time. However, it's worth noting that some newer episodes seem to be shorter, which makes it easier to listen to in one go. Additionally, while the majority of guests come from the metal genre, it would be nice to see more diversity in musical genres represented.

In conclusion, The BREWtally Speaking Podcast stands out as a must-listen for any music lover, particularly those interested in heavy music. Host Jon does an excellent job as an interviewer, asking thought-provoking questions and allowing guests to share their experiences and insights freely. We also touch on Kirk updating his live rig and going with an amp modulator on tour, and how it's been diving into new technology to recreate his tones over the years. This is a bit of a different episode for me. This was born from a friend showing me LLNN's album, "Unmaker", and becoming OBSESSED with it. Initially this was an album I was getting into heavy going back to the gym, but couldn't shake the hold it had over me and the feelings it would evoke out of me. Feelings of anger and despair and hopelessness. What I didn't anticipate was my foot injury that led to having surgery and being laid up a few months later, and in the darkness of sitting in my bed late at night I'd listen to this album more and I eventually came to this realization that sometimes we need to wallow in something to really help us process our emotions and work our way out of these negative feelings. This is my chat with the bands new vocalist/guitarist Victor, where we dive into some of these emotions that the bands music brings out. We get into how Victor joined the band, how it was for him to find his way into music that he didn't necessarily have a hand in creating but understanding its impact. Victor also shares what it was like growing up in Denmark and how he first got into playing music, some of his early influences as well as talking about the small scene that he and others were building. We talk about what's in store for LLNN in the new year, touring stateside and more.
