A health and fitness podcast presented by Neale James and Chris Griffiths. A Loading Zone production.
It takes Neale a while to latch on to this concept, but co-host Chris has a point to make about how to think about your body in terms of building it like you would a career ladder. Presented by fitness expert Chris Griffiths and presenter Neale James, this is the final episode of FitAs before it formally becomes the new Advantage Fitness podcast. We thought you'd enjoy a chance to hear all the episodes recorded up to this point now by the two hosts.
This week Chris talks about the hypocrisy of coaches in fitness training. A good one to get to grips with as you're warming up for today's big session. FitAs has now become the Advantage Fitness podcast.
This week, Chris tackles the numbers and what they mean when you start to create a diet. He asks some pertinent questions of Neale to shape a diet to trim some pounds and power him while he’s training. It all gets quite personal, for the right reasons of course. Advantage Fitness is formerly the FitAs podcast.
From some meet ups with clients of late, Chris has formed an idea; dealing with the highs and lows of your financial life can be akin to the way you deal with your fitness. Confused, listen on, it’ll all make sense. The Advantage Fitness show (formerly FitAs) is a Loading Zone production.
This week Chris suggests that if you’re training simply for the weight loss, then it’s simply part of the journey, but most probably not the actual goal. There’s also some closure on the subject last week where we talked about training for your goals, and not that of your partners. Advantage Fitness is formerly the FitAs show.
This week, what it means to the trainer, when he or she has to work twice as hard to create a defined set of goals for a client to work toward and with, then convince a partner of the value of training too. The Advantage Fitness podcast (formerly FitAs) is a Loading Zone production.
A special edition featuring fitness coach Phil Agostino, invited on to the show to talk about the disease Colitis. Determined not to let the disease prevent any of his health and fitness goals, Phil talks very candidly about his journey battling and defeating the debilitating symptoms of Colitis and how it has affected his training business. Featuring explicit and candid discussion.
This week, Chris reveals something about himself that you may or may not be surprised to learn; he is obsessively observant about his body. In context we’re talking about the body M.O.T.s that he is prepared to regularly attend and what his blood work says to him. But is he obsessive? Perhaps not, as today’s Advantage Fitness show (formerly FitAs) discusses.
The classic hare and tortoise story though told through the narrative or analogy of fitness. Who gains more advantage? Those who briskly leap from the blocks, or those who make a plan and diligently stick by that plan? It probably won’t surprise you to learn what Chris goes by, but this episode will explain why. The FitAs podcast has now changed to become the Advantage Fitness show, though we thought you'd like to hear how the show started life in this guise.
Last time on the show we asked how you can have your cake and eat it, then eat some more, even if you’re on a diet plan!? Today we delve a little more into that subject, as we ask; do you get hangry? And if you do, we may just have some suggestions.
You have to be joking right? You’re allowed to eat cake on an exercise or gym diet plan? And beer? And a cheeky Chinese takeaway? Well how much? When? And all at the same time? Possibly? There are a lot of questions answered about this in episode 12 of Fit As, which has now become the Advantage Fitness podcast.
It’s difficult to attach a value to something so intrinsic to your health and well being. How much should personal training cost? Is it too expensive? Is the quality of training good enough for you? BIG subject this week and as you can imagine, our PT expert Chris Griffiths has something to say about it. FitAs has now become the Advantage Fitness podcast.
The Advantage Fitness podcast (formerly FitAs) asks; 'What does it take in your workout sessions to burn fat, but perhaps more importantly, what do you need to do to keep it off for good?'
Here’s a subject we’ve had on the radar since the beginning of the podcast when it was known as FitAs. We have this more than sneaking suspicion, we’ll return to it too as you’ll understand when you hear out this edition! We scratch the surface this week to introduce the subject of anabolics. What they are, how they affect you and what they do within your training regime.
Formerly FitAs, the Advantage Fitness podcast sees Chris on a roll with this one. Following a consultation with a gent who’d been advised by his cardiologist to lose some weight or face the consequences, Chris is flabbergasted that the choice the gent takes is to take road of less resistance and stay as is. If your body is not a temple, it is at least your only possession, this week we talk about why some people don’t look after it.
How long is a piece of string? Here’s a tough nut to crack for Chris on this week’s podcast. Losing weight quickly. Is it safe, is it clever, is it possible? What attitude do you need to take on to do it too? Chris answers this question and more of your general ones too. The FitAs podcast is now known as Advantage Fitness.
It’s the first of our specials this week. Neale visits Ian and Debi-Ann Wrigglesworth near Birmingham to hear an incredibly moving story about one couple’s fight with cancer. Diagnosed with a rare stage three type of tumour in his brain, Ian Wrigglesworth was given less than two years as an initial prognosis. For Debi-Ann, Ian’s nutritionist wife, it was the start of a fight she was determined to wage against the diagnosis. If you are what you eat, today’s episode highlights how one couple decided to take the driving seat in their personal battle with cancer. Co-host Chris Griffiths has his own thoughts about this topic and they’re slightly at odds to a degree with the story you’re about to hear and that’s what makes this episode the most compelling yet. If you’d like further information about nutrition and Ian’s life changes, Debi-Ann can be contacted through her practice: http://www.nutritionmission.co.uk/
With the growth of fad diets and fad workout regimes, this week we ask if they truly have a place in your life or even work for that matter?
The podcast that answers your questions about health, nutrition, fitness and being overall gym smart. This week Chris answers a question asked by many who are just beginning to get serious with weight training. Should you be in the free-weights room, or working your way around the myriad of weights machines in your gym? FitAs is now known as the Advantage Fitness podcast.
That age old question it seems. I’m budgeted on my time in the gym, should I plan for my session to be cardio, or should I go sling some weights? Is there a correct ratio? Is there a correct order or frequency? All these questions answered today. Recorded originally as Fit As, the podcast is now known as Advantage Fitness.
What do you want to achieve when you first join a gym, is it strength, is it body shape, better tone, increased cardio fitness, the start of a journey to competition? The reasons are varied but so many people fail to meet the goal set. This and more of your questions answered in episode 2 of Advantage Fitness, recorded for the initial series as Fit As.
Recorded when the show was known as FitAs, fitness and nutrition expert Chris Griffiths attempts to answer that question; 'Why do some people tour the town’s gyms, but never achieve their fitness goals?' This is a new podcast produced by podcaster Neale James, co presented by fitness expert Chris Griffiths from Advantage Fitness with one goal in mind, to prise you from the couch and get you thinking about your personal goals for physical well being.
