The Adelaide Lutheran Sports Club is an amateur sporting club with teams in football, netball, cricket, and junior competitions. In this podcast, James Zubrinich & Scott Babolka chat to some of the club's most interesting past & present members, sharing stories and laughs along the way.
From a young age, Ellee Eleftheriadis gas been an incredibly driven, talented, and loyal individual. Hailing from the Riverland town of Berri, she joined the Adelaide Lutheran Netball Club in 2014. Ellee's since gone on to win multiple A1 B&Fs, is leading the team in their current charge towards premiership glory, and has now added A2 Coach to her resume. Join us as we explore Ellee's close relationship to a WNBA star, her on-court triumphs, off-field contributions, and her cautionary tale on the roads after surviving a horrific car accident.
Simon Rodger is 2-time A Grade premiership player, 6-time best & fairest winner, and a life member of Adelaide Lutheran. However his off-field contributions would be his true legacy. Simon currently is knees deep in the redevelopment work at Doggie Park and we go right behind the scenes into the current state of this redevelopment, and what still needs to be done. As well as taking a trip down memory lane. Who is Pale Face? Who kicked the point in the 91 Grand Final? Why doesn't Simon like handballing? All this and more answered in this episode.
By his own assessment Wayne Gladigau is just ‘a part of the furniture'. Arriving in 1974, just 5 years after Adelaide Lutheran Sports Club was formed, it wouldn't take long for Glads to become entwined into the very fabric of Adelaide Lutheran. A 4-time premiership footballer and long serving member of the cricket club he has a story or two to tell, but that story is still being written to this day. Glads might also be Adelaide Lutheran's biggest glutton for punishment for his time served in various committee and administrative roles. We speak a lot in this episode about the many iterations of Adelaide Lutheran. Currently the club is undergoing a major redevelopment but we need to raise a significant amount of money to achieve this.
